The USA Today/Gallup poll completed on September 7 has the McCain/Palin ticket holding a 10 point lead over Obama/Biden.
[Polling data can be found in original post]
This represents the first time McCain has led Obama by a double-digit margin since january, 2007. It also represents a 17 point swing in McCain's favor since the last USAT/Gallup poll completed on August 31 and the first time McCain has led Obama in the RealClearPolitics average since April.
Expect the panic in the Obama camp to spread accordingly.

These polls if accurate show how stupid America really is.
I’m glad to see it but if folks don’t already know how serious the differences are...
it’s incredible

I want to see Obama's wife keep calling America a "downright mean country."
I also want to know how Obama's buddies like Bill Ayers, Tony Rezko and Jeremiah Wright are doing.
I want to see them spit some more venom at us to further solidify the fact that the entire Obama campaign is evil incarnate.

I don’t blame most of America. We’re all working and trying to make a living, have a little fun, etc... and we shouldn’t have to parse what the news media tells us.
Of course, we do have to question our news media, but we shouldn’t be in this position. Joe Sixpack ought to be able to scan some headlines and be caught up on the outside world. If only.
But it’s not Sixpack’s fault that the news media is lying to him 24/7.
Declining news audiences, however, show that the lies are less effective and reaching fewer people, though.

The libs are responding to these poll numbers bysaying its innaccurate because the Gallup phone poll underrepresents the under-30 crowd, which is assumed to be pro-Obama, because they only have cell phones and arent home to take calls from pollsters on Friday and Saturday nights. To busy smoke'n weed.

Looks like the undecideds, have decided. I really think that is the case because in anecdotal story, after story, after story posted from Freepers, they are claiming that after Palin's and McCain's speeches, many of their family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers decided on McCain/Palin.

Sarah can adopt Reagans strategy: ignore the press and speak directly to the people. The shrill morons in the press keep pushing voters toward her with every attack. The Drive-By-Media are like beaters on a big game hunt.
The more noise they make, the more they drive the game to the hunter.
And when it comes to hunting, they are failin' as a Palin comparison.

Instead Ive seen post after post of people saying Well Obama has to say that, but we should keep digging for dirt and spread it around! Sarah's attackers are like kids in a room full of horse$hit. "Keep digging! There's gotta be a pony in here somewhere!"

I hate to bring this up, but (is it okay if I say this?) as we all know Obama is mixed up with some people who have no problem with terrorism and/or violent crime.
In light of these poll numbers, McCain and company especially need to have someone watching their six.

Besides Palin and McCain themselves, there were a number of other speakers at the RNC who effectively articuled the conservative vision and poked a hole in Obamassiah’s balloon: Thompson, Romney, Huckabee, and Giuliani, whom you mention, but also some lesser lights—Michael Steele, Michael Williams, and Linda Lingle stand out in my memory.

Yes, I mentioned many of those, but why haven’t they been that eloquent all these years? It was like the RNC found themselves all of a sudden. Even Bush did well - and I am still an avid Bush supporter.
