The USA Today/Gallup poll completed on September 7 has the McCain/Palin ticket holding a 10 point lead over Obama/Biden.
[Polling data can be found in original post]
This represents the first time McCain has led Obama by a double-digit margin since january, 2007. It also represents a 17 point swing in McCain's favor since the last USAT/Gallup poll completed on August 31 and the first time McCain has led Obama in the RealClearPolitics average since April.
Expect the panic in the Obama camp to spread accordingly.

“So much for the Styrofoam Greek columns”
He screwed up, he didn’t wear the olive leaves. LOL
Consider the source.
And not a minute too soon! Seeing him in Europe apologizing for the USA made me want to rip those big stupid Dumbo ears right off him!
LOL! So much for the gayest convention podium in the history of US politics.
Sarah can adopt Reagan’s strategy: ignore the press and speak directly to the people. The shrill morons in the press keep pushing voters toward her with every attack.
Palin is real. Obama? what’s that?
Palin is a big part, but this convention was the first I have heard of Repubs being articulate since Reagan & Newt. If Fred had spoken like that on his on campaign we would have a different candidate. Rudy was amazing. Huck & Romney were not bad. While McCain was not the great orator, he was believable & inspiring. Repubs came alive.
After watching Meet the Press this morning, I’m confident that Joe Biden is going to come across as a kind, old, used car salesman when he debates Palin. I’m wondering if he’s going to even open his mouth.
WHOA!!
That’s HUGE!
You think thats bad? Somebody had to probably twist the CNN management’s arm to make them show Obama at only a one point lead. Which really meant Obama was getting his butt kicked in the polls.
The 0 campaign has so many untenable positions on so many issues out there that they could not explain their way out in ten years. In fact, as time goes it just gets worse for them. We are about to witness the worst case of buyers' remorse in American political history.
I was traveling during the Palin selection and without Internet access.
Does anybody rmember which FR thread first broke the news of the Palin selection?
It would be fun to read. :-)
More European campaign rallies. And why not jet down to Nairobi and host a few rallies for Odinga again? Worth 10 points, I'm sure of it.
Look out now - Sarah better wear a helmet. Obama will have his entire team slinging mud.

I’m holding with Rush on this one. The polls will swing wildly (as they can be made to say ANYTHING) in order to cause emotional responses. It has proven effective in the past to have very high polling numbers coming out of a convention then show really low polling numbers by the time the election happens. When people go to the polls, their emotion is down and they’re more likely to vote the other way. This is all part of the political game, and, therefore, loses all credibility. Besides, who cares about national polls? The state polls are the ones that are going to make or break the election.
Biden quitting now would be suicide. The logical conclusion everyone would come to is that if Obama doesn’t even know how to pick a running mate...
.
That pain in Obama’s backside is the new a$$hole that the McCain/Palin team just ripped him.
There’s two parts to me right now.
There’s the part that thinks that between Sarah Palin injecting a nuclear rocket into the campaign and a good convention, that we can win this thing BIG in November...think 35-40 states or more.
Then, there’s the part that is scared to death of the Obama worship among youth, the ACORN “registration” drives (read - fraud) and all that other crap.
