Ira N. Forman, Executive Director of the National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC) today released the following statement:
Today, Senator John McCain made his first critical presidential decision with his selection of his Vice Presidential running mate. McCains judgment appears lacking. In Governor Sarah Palin McCain chooses a running mate with zero foreign policy experience and a brewing scandal which is being investigated by the Alaska state legislature. The contrast with Senator Joe Biden could not be starker and more unfavorable for the soon to be Republican nominee.
For a party which claims it is trying to reach out to the Jewish community McCains pick is particularly strange. Prior to todays selection Palin apparently has never spoken publicly about Israel. Moreover, on a broad range of issues most strikingly on the issue of womens reproductive freedom she is totally out of step with Jewish public opinion. The gulf between Palins public policy positions and the American Jewish community is best illustrated by the fact that the Christian Coalition of America was one of the strongest advocates of her selection.

"Prior to todays selection Palin apparently has never spoken publicly about Israel." Obama's pastor Jeremiah Wright has--by questioning Israel's legitimacy, calling for divestment from Israel, and publishing a blood libel of Israel.
"most strikingly on the issue of womens reproductive freedom she is totally out of step with Jewish public opinion." Maybe Ira Forman thinks live birth abortion and infanticide are acceptable (as supported by Barack Obama) but genuine Jews don't.

Jews for Obama=Bizarre
Democrats rending their garments in full melt-down.
I remember when they made ths same comment about BJ Clinton and Obama. Oh! They didn’t.
Before coming to the NJDC Ira served during the Clinton Administration as the Director of Congressional Relations for the Office of Personnel Management and for three years, starting in 1990, he served as a fellow at the Center for National Policy.
Mr. Forman was the founder and President of Washington Corporate Strategies, Inc., a political and government affairs consulting firm.
This is the kind of stuff we’re going to see being thrown at Governor Palin, and as painful as it is to acknowledge, we can’t hide behind some fig leaf pretending she has foreign policy and/or national security experience that she doesn’t have.
Governor Palin needs to bone up in a hurry so she can demonstrate solid understanding of foreign policy issues, because you can bet the rent that Joe Biden isn’t going to cut her any slack, and as wrong as Biden may be on the issues, he does KNOW the issues, and she needs to at least be able to hold her own in that debate.
We can be sure that John McCain will make mincemeat out of Obama-lama-ding-dong, I’m more confident of that now than at anytime in the past. Obama is NOT a good impromptu speaker, take away the teleprompter and it’s Obambi in the headlights.
But Joe Biden is a shark that should not be underestimated.
Far be it for me to point out that Senator McCain is running against Senator Obama for president, not Governor Palin.
REAL CLEAR POLITICS.com: Washington - "THE PERFECT STRANGE" by Charles Krauthammer (ARTICLE SNIPPET: "The deeper anxiety was that the party was nominating a man of many gifts but precious few accomplishments -- bearing even fewer witnesses.") (August 29, 2008)
How the democrats have been able to retain the Jewish voting bloc all this time is beyond me.
How do they ignore how a majority of liberals [Carter leading the pack] feel about Israel?
The Democrats are going out on a limb assuming that she doesn’t know anything about foreign affairs. They might be shocked and embarrassed when she shows how much she really does know.
I agree...but, I am betting that Palin is indeed a very fast study!
“But Joe Biden is a shark that should not be underestimated.”
“Sarah Barracuda” may give him a surprise, after which she can change her name to “Sarah the Orca.” These giant dolphins (which are quite adept at gutting and eating salmon—actually, they don’t bother to gut them, they swallow them whole) are quite capable of taking out sharks, and they are a lot smarter.
Biden is a coward. Palin beats him on everything, starting with sincerity and morals. She’s a real person, and to this extent she beats most Washington politicians.
And don’t forget her IQ is much higher than Biden’s.
They don’t like her because she is a believing Christian. Simple as that.
At least he refrained from the N word.
I would bet on Palin over BInlaDIN in foreign policy, domestic policy, tiddlywinks, Barretts at 1000 yards or almost any arena you would care to mention.
And Obama has how much foreign policy experience? And Joe Biden has been right on how many foreign policy issues? And how much foreign policy experience did Ronald Reagan have when he was elected?
As a Jew let me assure all that the National Jewish Democratic Council is a rag-tag bunch of unemployed Stalinists, drunks, wife-abusers, career sociology “lecturers,” and child molesters. How terrible that they dislike Palin. LOL!
