2008-05-13) — A day after Republican presidential candidate John McCain unveiled his cap-and-trade plan to defeat the imminent threat of global warming, a coalition of conservative voters announced it would enthusiastically support his proposal by refusing to burn fossil fuels on November 4, 2008.

“We’re eager to live out Sen. McCain’s conservative vision for the earth,” said the group’s unnamed spokesman, “by keeping millions of Republican-owned SUVs and pickup trucks in their garages on election day.”

The coalition said the symbolic move would not only “cut carbon emissions by thousands of tons,” but it would also “put a president in the White House with John McCain’s views on the global warming issue.”

“Backing McCain Energy Plan, GOP Voters to Stay Home”

He’s not worth the carbon it would take to get to the polls.

ROFLMAO, I fully expect the McBots to avoid this thread as if it was a conservative issue.

Might have qualified as a “McBot” earlier. Didn’t like McCain but considered him infinitely superior to Obama and Hillary. Not any more. Seriously considering staying home on election day for the first time EVER since I could vote.

dammit - you are exactly correct - I moved over reluctantly - but he never sees an opportunity to just SHUT UP;)

This dumbness just cost him the election.

I’m all spent out - Piytar - if you see me on a political thread - please feel free to kick my *ss off it;)

The Big Glob is that Democrat running on the GOP ticket.

I wish he would curb his emmissions and let us trade for something other than a big liberal glob.

I will burn a little fossil fuel to try and give Thomas and Scalia a new colleague they can work with. I prefer not to have 3 law school deans (all in their 40s) replace Stevens Ginsburg and Souter. I am not supporting McCain, I am opposing the dem nominee the only way I know how. . . by holding my nose.

The only thing we get to vote on now is the speed of our demise.

I just filled out the form to get my absentee ballot. That’s as much energy as I intend to expend on this election, and it isn’t for McCain.
