Ben Stein Blows it on Fox--ID is Religion (vanity)
Fox News | 04/20/2008 | Soliton

Posted on 04/20/2008 6:09:13 PM PDT by Soliton

Ben Stein was just on Fox News with Geraldo. He was asked If ID versus Evolution was a "left, right thing". He responded,"No, It's an atheist versus a non-believer thing". Stein inadvertantly admitted that ID is a religious argument, not science!

Evolutionists are atheists.

By stating that evolutionists are atheists is not making the argument around “religion”. He doesn't say that creationist USE “religion” for their validation and they DO NOT use “religion” to validate how they see Creation. SCIENCE does support CREATION. It is evolutionists that WANT TO MAKE THE ARGUMENT ABOUT “RELIGION”.

Apparently you hear what you want to hear.

What YOU should do is see the movie. All Ben is saying is that the PREMISE of an evolutionist is, is there is NO GOD. The PREMISE of an "Intelligent Designer" is that there is a GOD. The evidence for "Intelligent Design" is NOT about religion. The EVIDENCE for "Intelligent Design" is about SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE. It is the unbelievers, atheists, evolutionists that INSIST on framing the argument about "religion" and NOT SCIENCE.

That is really going to be a shock to my Jewish and Christian friends who just happen to be evolutionary biologists.

How do I break the news to them that they are really atheists? Please expedite your response so I can let them know as soon as they get back from their various worship services.

ID repeatedly states that it isn’t about religion. Ben Stein was rushed and blew it. It is another piece of evidence to keep ID out of school!

You’ve been have a hissy fit for a couple days now about the movie. Have you seen it? If not, go see it so you can comment from the perspective of someone who’s seen the acutally movie and not just hearsay, or extrapolating from an interview.

I felt the movie was more about academic freedom and discourse in the scientific community.

I didn’t see Bowling for Columbine and I won’t see Expelled unless it’s on youtube. Ben is promoting the “Intelligent Design Movement”, It is a complete fraud. I can prove it if you’re interested.

You are probably going to refer people to the court case again. Well, anyone who reads the judges decision in the court case needs to also read the law review article that several of the Discovery Institute fellows wrote absolutely shredding the judges ruling. His decision is so full of holes that it resembles swiss cheese.

Many people want to “believe” but really don’t.

My suggestion to you is break it to them gently.

It’s actually the HEBREW that confirms “intelligent Design”.

What YOU should do is see the movie.

Ha! Never happen......those two have been on every single "Expelled" thread trying to drum up arguments.

Token especially has been literally desperate to convince everyone here via his arguments that there is no such thing as God. Misery does indeed love company and Token very much needs friends I guess

“ID repeatedly states that it isn’t about religion.”

“Ben Stein was rushed and blew it.”

“It is another piece of evidence to keep ID out of school!”

Evidence? No, Ben is just speaking the truth.

Those that believe in evolution are atheists, whether they like that label or not. They REJECT Intelligent Design.

The argument is not about “religion”. It's all about science and common sense ... if the word “Intelligent Design” frightens you - consider it common sense.

The problem is that nearly 80-90% of the people in the U.S. believe in God. Most of them also believe in “intelligent Design”. There are also those that are unsure about what god or gods to believe in and still see the EVIDENCE of “Intelligent Design.” Yes, I know, just mentioning the word “Intelligent Design” scare people.

You won't stop people from believing in God or Intelligent Design. There is too much information based on SCIENCE that confirms it. Besides why would anyone want to suppress competing views? Unless they are not secure in their own opinions. YOU, believe whatever you like. I'll continue to look objectively at the evidence of “Intelligent Design”, ooops, common sense.

How does the Hebrew confirm ID?

And what happened to ID being non-religious?

“Ha! Never happen......those two have been on every single “Expelled” thread trying to drum up arguments.”

What a waste of time. Maybe it’s their 15 minutes of disruptive fame?

“Token especially has been literally desperate to convince everyone here via his arguments that there is no such thing as God. Misery does indeed love company and Token very much needs friends I guess”

“Token atheist”, his moniker makes no sensible arguments. His moniker alone clues you in as to what he is about ... . Yes, let him be miserable - it’s a CHOICE too!

I asked the following on another thread:

“Science” is not an all encompassing store of knowledge that can answer all questions.

Yet there are those who treat it as the source of all knowledge, and nothing outside of “science” is valid.

Which are you? Do you have a problem believing there is a God?”

Still waiting for a reply. Do you even know?
