Russian media are reporting that the United States will launch a missile attack on Iran's nuclear facilities as early as Friday, April 6. Several targets will be hit by launching missiles from fighter jets and warships stationed in the Persian Gulf. Russian news agency RIA Novosti quoted a security official as saying "Russian intelligence has information that the U.S. Armed Forces stationed in the Persian Gulf have nearly completed preparations for a missile strike against Iranian territory."
You can read the original story in the Jerusalem Post at www.jpost.com.

Will it be streamed on the Internet?
That would definitely be 'must see Internet'.

I think there is no chance it will happen during this hostage crisis.
Sorry guys, hopefully when we get them free we can begin shock and awe Part II.

With all due respect part of the problem is viewing them as hostages and trying to negotiate a resolution. Iran is a terrorist state. War has been declared on terrorism. They should be viewed as POW's. Wars have continued to be fought eventhough there are POW's. The Allies would never have won WWII if they considered POW's as hostages and tried to negotiate with the Axis forces.

This isn't the same as world war two, and while I agree with you that iran needs to be dealt with eventually by force, I'm just saying, it will not happen this friday at very least.

Kinda dumb...the sanctions just started, we've got at least 2 years of "we are going to warn you again" and hope Israel takes care of it for us.
To: Man50D
And I hope we don't engage in all this 'pinpoint precision' crap. Let the bombs rain down on 'em like hailstones, and tell the U.N. it was a software glitch. Aw, screw the U.N. - tell 'em they're next.

Let's put it this way: We could tell them time, date and locations and they still couldn't stop us.

NEXT NEW MOON APRIL 17,18
The modern military relies on darkness to gain an advantage via night vision, and stealth technology. The resulting military buildup has been in progress since the abductions. It's reasonable to expect that certain materiel and logistics won't be in place for a few weeks. Don't expect too much to be done beforehand.
Therefore, a sustained period of dark nights would be optimal. The next lunar cycle begins in 2 weeks. It will actually span from April 16 through April 19.

In some repsects it is and is not.
I'm just saying, it will not happen this friday at very least.
That could be but I was replying on the comment in your post #6 that it wouldn't happen while they are being held. You did not specify a date. If your reference of it not happening until Friday is premised on the assumption only negotiation can resolve this matter then in the long run Great Britain will lose even if the soldiers are released without any military action. It will embolden the terrorists to do more of the same or worse. Negotiating with terrorists and will only invite more terrorism. Great Britain should have learned that lesson from Neville Chamberlain's failed negotiations with Hitler.

Operation Iraqi Freedom did not start on a new moon. I think it is no coincidence that Operation Desert Storm started on a new moon, it was initiated by a long range, low altitude helicopter attack on Iraq's most important long range radar installation. A long period of darkness was vital to success.
Not sure there's any analogous Iranian assets.
