The release of the Fox News personnel brings up what I think is an interesting moral question. If you give in and 'convert' so you can get back to your family etc., are you violating your true faith?
I don't think anyone can say for sure what they would do under such prolonged duress and I wouldn't judge someone harshly for having a breaking point, but I hope I would resist even to death any effort to force me to deny my faith.
I started a poll on this at FreeDominon, and thought you might want to have a go at it too. There is no poll function here, so you can either register and vote there, or just post a reply here, or just think it over.
The Poll:
You have been kidnapped by radical Muslims who will torture and kill you unless you publicly convert to Islam and participate in a propaganda video with them. Do you intend to....
a) Refuse to convert to help them in any way, even to the point of death by beheading.
b) Resist for as long as you can, but when no rescue comes, go ahead and do it. Everyone (including God) knows you don't really mean it so it doesn't matter.
c) Resist as long as they don't hurt you too much, but when no rescue comes, go ahead and do it. You're not sure there is a God to offend so who cares.
d) Resist for as long as you can, but when no rescue comes, go ahead and do it. God will not be pleased, but you can repent later after you are back with your family.
e) Forget this 'resist as long as you can' stuff, just do it and get the heck out of there.
f) Resist for as long as you can, but when no rescue comes make the video but not 'convert'.
g) Resist for as long as you can, but when no rescue comes 'convert but refuse to make the video.
h) I'de be the one doing the kidnapping you infidel dog!

This is tough! I'd say, The Lord knows what's in your heart but I'd do nothing to encourage or advance them.
Maybe , maybe not, but I know this..I certainly wouldnt after the ordeal proclaim that the Palestinians are a "beautiful people whose story needs to be told".
If a bunch of these filthy, smelly animals were holding me at gunpoint I'd pretend to follow their stupid gutter religion to save my life. God knows what is really in the heart.

I believe that Jews are not permitted to convert to another religion. While virtually every law in the Torah can be violated to save a life, I don't think that worshipping an idol or a false "diety" is allowed. THAT is what martydom is about, not being a splodeydope and murdering a bunch of innocent women and children as you commit suicide.
Of course, the Islamofascists would likely not give any Jew such a choice, as they seem to so relish the idea of sawing off the heads of living Jews, preferably slowly and in front of a camera.
As I am no authority on Jewish law, I welcome any corrections.

Somehow I think if you have your face on mud with your hands painfully tied behind your back, it's not a real conversion. They can make you say whatever they want but if you haven't converted in your mind and heart, how can this be a true conversion? I bet they don't even have to undo this to go back to their original religions. The Muslims who do this hate us all. They want to kill us whether or not we recant their so called religion.
I'm with you. I'd pose in nipple-clamps for photos of me butt-f@#$ng Capatain Kangaroo if they said they'd then let me go. And then I'd go home and sleep well without giving the matter another thought.
That may be true - but IF I did any such thing, rest assured that I'd a) never visit another Moslem nation and b) I'd be taking a few of them with me first, by way of my many concealed weapons (and if I didn't have them, getting them would be the first order of business after spending some time with my family).
A forced conversion is just that forced without their heart in it...without the heart conversion IT DOESN'T COUNT.
If I was convinced that they would let me go if I did what they said, I would say anything and make any video they forced me to. After I was released I would make it very clear that everything I said and did was done at the point of a gun.
I pray I'd have the strength and will to resist it with everything in me and all the added strength God would doubtless supply.
Do whatever it takes to survive and get out.
