It's the Fourth of July and the DUmmies are "patriotically" urging each other to "Put Away the Flags." They are so disgusted with the USA that they frown upon such displays of patriotism. The DUmmies are supported in this belief by left wing whacko, Howard Zinn, as you can see in this THREAD titled, "Put Away the Flags - Howard Zinn." Almost half the replies have been deleted so one can only imagine what extreme anti-American rants were worthy of not even being allowed in DUmmieland. So let us now watch the DUmmies tell each other to put away their flags in Bolshevik Red (but not White and Blue) while the commentary of your humble correspondent, lighting another firecracker beneath the DUmmie pretenses as usual, is in the [brackets]:
Put Away the Flags - Howard Zinn
[Oh, if he said so...we must, we MUST!]
Put Away the Flags
by Howard Zinn
On this July 4, we would do well to renounce nationalism and all its symbols: its flags, its pledges of allegiance, its anthems, its insistence in song that God must single out America to be blessed.
[Thanx Howie for expressing the TRUE feelings of the Left.]
Is not nationalism -- that devotion to a flag, an anthem, a boundary so fierce it engenders mass murder -- one of the great evils of our time, along with racism, along with religious hatred?
[Flying the flag leads to mass murder according to the bizarre Zinnian logic.]
These ways of thinking -- cultivated, nurtured, indoctrinated from childhood on -- have been useful to those in power, and deadly for those out of power.
[Flag flying as indoctrination. Um, can we question your patriotism NOW?]
National spirit can be benign in a country that is small and lacking both in military power and a hunger for expansion (Switzerland, Norway, Costa Rica and many more). But in a nation like ours -- huge, possessing thousands of weapons of mass destruction -- what might have been harmless pride becomes an arrogant nationalism dangerous to others and to ourselves.
[So it is okay for small countries to fly their flags but really horrible for the USA to do it. Meanwhile Zinn slams the USA with not a MENTION of the Islamo-fascists who are truly dangerous. And now on to the FAVORABLE DUmmie reaction to this article...]
I agree w/Howard. The thought of celebrating tomorrow makes me ill.
[Can we question your patriotism now?]
Zinn speaks for me. sadly, this is how I feel this year.
[This is how you feel EVERY year.]
I agree wholeheartedly with Howard! I haven't flown the flag since the psycho illegally invaded Iraq. I fly a PEACE flag ONLY. It stays up until we get the hell out of there.
[I have seen a lot of Pali flags at the "peace" demonstrations to the exclusion of American flags.]
Arrogant nationalism. That's the problem.......it's the sense of entitlement that is destructive.
[Like the sense of entitlement of claiming election victories even when you LOSE?]
You need to read some actual history of the American Revolution. Many of the founding fathers were not Christians. And Americans by and large do NOT trust Bush; alcoholics can never be trusted.
[YOU need to read some actual history of the American revolution. Such as how the revolution started as a protest AGAINST higher taxes.]
NOOOO! That is the worst possible things those of the left could do because it confirms the right's propaganda that the flag is theirs. It's the exact opposite thing those on the left should be doing. Wave the flag, Democrats, wave it proud!
[A pragmatic DUmmie who wants to fool people into thinking the leftists are really patriotic so he supports flying the flag...but only as a cynical PR ploy.]
I have no pride in my country today. I will not celebrate tomorrow in a big way.
[And don't forget to not enjoy the fireworks.]
Perhaps even more so. Now, if only they can get over their denial that the DUmmies and their ilk are driving the party over a cliff...
What's depressing is that I "get" this one... *sigh*
Said the DUmmie on the way to picking up a welfare check.
Zinn cites Switzerland as "a country that is small and lacking both in military power and a hunger for expansion." Check your clock, Sherlock -- Switzerland doesn't need military power or expansion as long as it is willing to remain the world center of money laundering.
Is that you, benburch?
That's him! For the life of me, I couldn't think of his name yesterday. Off the tube, out of mind.
So...she doesn't trust Ted Kennedy? And of course, she probably trusted Clinton, because while you can't trust an alcoholic, you can always trust a philanderer.
LOL
Hey, Justshutupandtakeit, check out my photos in post #71 (just above yours). We're just 80 miles West of you in Rochelle. It was the same here all day long. A whole bunch of fireworks consumed including what sounded like M 80's.
After the parade the wife & I sat outside, cooked outside, and just enjoyed a beautiful Summer day. My Arturo Fuente Canones was my firework. We even had some corn for dinner, but it wasn't the fresh stand corn. The stuff around here is about waste high now. The stands won't be open for another few weeks.
Don't we all, though?!? :-)
Alias Senator Foghorn Leghorn. How could you forget "Dey's too much conSOOOOOMIN' goin' on out deah!"
I didn't forget the statement, just the name of the guy. Out of sight, out of mind, thank goodness.
Yeah, I saw your great pics. I shudder to think what last night would have been like if fireworks were legal in Chicago. I heard things that sounded twice as powerful as M-80s. And I have shot plenty of 'em. Things pretty much quited down after midnight fortunately. I ran the crew celebrating at my house off about 11:30.
Ours lasted till after Midnight, but they were far enough off to not be a problem. My M 80 days were long, long ago. I'll stick with my Fuente or Partagas, thank you. They go better with Jim Beam.
But don't question their patriotism < /BARF! >
Disgusting.
"one of the great evils of our time, along with racism, along with religious hatred?"
You mean, hatred by agnostic/atheists of the religious?
If that's the truth....
...then all these hippie a$$holes incoporating that BS nonsense disgusting "peace sign" (Nero's cross) panel light in their *CHRISTMAS* LIGHTS are FREAKIN' HYPOCRITES!
"I haven't flown the flag since the psycho illegally invaded Iraq. I fly a PEACE flag ONLY. It stays up until we get the hell out of there."
You should just join the "rolling hunger strike" that shows the true leftist committment.
"That's the problem.......it's the sense of entitlement that is destructive."
Yep, that is the destruction of the liberal loons!
Wow one web site says it's a protection symbol and that's the be-all end-all of the discussion? The links I used were the first 2 of 3 that allowed me to copy and paste parts of their text, there are many more that also list the "peace sign" as being pagan as well as anti-Christian and communist.
If you'd care to reasearch the symbol more you can try here http://www.google.com/search?q=peace+sign,+pagan&hl=en&lr=&newwindow=1&safe=off&start=20&sa=N
Here are some more highlights which aren't "Christian" web sites.
24:7 · This is the anti-nuclear emblem or the peace sign. It can be seen as composed of a Tyr rune, , lengthened upward, or by the rune , turned upside down. In Germany and Austria it is often called the Todesrune, the rune of death, or an inverted life rune. According to some sources was conceived by placing the signs N and D (for Nuclear Disarmament) from the international marine flag signalling system on top of each other, and circumscribing the combination with a circle. Some state that was invented by Lord Bertrand Russell. S. T. Achen, however, claims that the symbol was designed by J. Holtom at the request of Russell. In any case it was initially used as a rallying sign at the 1958 demonstration against Aldermaston (a British research center for the development of nuclear weapons). The power of this symbol is emphasized by the fact that the South African government, during the 1970s, seriously considered forbidding it. They found it "anti-Christian" and "pro-Communist." Achen, the late Danish semiotician, wrote that , ironically, was forbidden at times in some of the communist countries. http://www.symbols.com/encyclopedia/24/247.html
The symbol is listed on pagan/wiccan sites as a pagan/wiccan symbol symbol of faith HERE and HERE for example.
According to our research, the peace sign, which boomers embraced in the 60s, is actually similar in appearance to the Teutonic rune (a symbol or letter) of death. (Ironic, huh?) Rumor has it that in the late 50s Gerald Holtom, a peacenik before peaceniks became fashionable, was commissioned by communist sympathizer Bertrand Russell to create a symbol to unite leftist peace marchers. From a baby-boomer web site. http://www.bbhq.com/peacesin.htm
"Throughout the last 2,000 years this symbol has designated hatred of Christians. Nero, who despised Christians, crucified the Apostle Peter on a cross head downward. This hideous event resembled the Teutonic cross and became the popular insignia of the day. Thereafter, this sign became known as the 'Neronic cross.' "The symbol's origin in history proves it to be the visual mystic character for 'Aum' (the split 'Y'- UPRIGHT). This is the sacred word to the Hindu. Chanting 'Aum' is supposed to help awaken 'the serpent power of Brahma' at the base of the human spine. Occultist Albert Pike also identifies this symbol as mystical in his book on Freemasonry Morals and Dogma. The peace symbol (also called the "broken cross," "crow's foot," "witch's foot," "Nero Cross," "sign of the 'broken Jew,'" and the "symbol of the 'anti-Christ''') is actually a cross with the arms broken - DOWNWARD. It also signifies the "gesture of despair," and the "death of man.'' http://gypsytroubadours.tribe.net/thread/363240e5-6543-4a46-b3c9-66daa41c0642
The bottom line is that the "peace sign" or it's likenesses can hold more thann just one meaning and a little selective reasearch can point it out as whatever one needs to suit their purposes.
Do some real research next time please.../
