DUmmie FUnnies 01-04-06 (David Letterman Becomes DUmmie Hero)
DUmmie FUnnies ^ | January 4, 2006 | DUmmies and PJ-Comix

Posted on 01/04/2006 5:46:50 AM PST by PJ-Comix

As soon as I saw the David Letterman interview with Bill O'Reilly last night, I KNEW that Letterman, denouncing the Iraq War effort and praising Cindy Sheehan, would become an instant DUmmie hero. And checking this DUmmieland THREAD this morning titled, "With O’Reilly as Guest, Very Serious Letterman Denounces Iraq War," I saw that I was not wrong. In order to get yourself up to speed on how much of a complete ASS Letterman made of himself last night, I first recommend that you watch the complete video of this interview now available over at THE POLITICAL TEEN. After watching this video you will fully understand why David Letterman is now a DUmmie Hero. Let us now watch the DUmmies praising their new hero in Bolshevik Red while the commentary of your humble correspondent, believing that David Letterman is far stupider than any Stupid Pet Trick, is in the [brackets]:

With O’Reilly as Guest, Very Serious Letterman Denounces Iraq War

[Plus he hailed Cindy Sheehan, thus making himself a new DUmmie hero.]

Displaying a hostility to President Bush and the Iraq war similar to that expressed by Comedy Central’s Jon Stewart, on tonight’s Late Show David Letterman will go further than I’ve ever heard him in revealing his derision for President Bush’s decision to launch the Iraq war. I know this thanks to the “Big Show Highlight," a two-minute streaming-only RealPlayer preview of tonight’s program, which is now featured on the Late Show’s home page.

[Coming soon. David Letterman to announce whether he is LIHOP or MIHOP.]

In the posted clip, Letterman mockingly tells guest Bill O’Reilly: "The President himself, less than a month ago said we are there because of a mistake made in intelligence. Well, whose intelligence? It was just somebody just get off a bus and handed it to him?" Letterman demands: “Why the Hell are we there to begin with?" When O’Reilly points out that the British, Russians and Egyptians also presumed Iraq had WMD, Letterman retorts: “Well then that makes it all right?" Turning unusually serious, Letterman soon lectures: “I'm very concerned about people like yourself who don't have nothing but endless sympathy for a woman like Cindy Sheehan. Honest to Christ. Honest to Christ." That prompts O’Reilly to contend: “No way a terrorist who blows up women and children is going to be called a ‘freedom fighter' on my program." To which Letterman fires back: “I have the feeling about 60 percent of what you say is crap.”

[We already know that 100% of what the DUmmies say is crap as we shall see in the following DUmmie droolings over their new hero, David Letterman.]

Letterman is one of the best political interviewers out there, probably because all the hacks expect him to be some sort of goof who just does stupid pet tricks.

[Actually Letterman last night was STUPIDER than any Stupid Pet Trick.]

is O'Reilly saying Cindy Sheehan blows up women and children ? am i reading it wrong ? why would he reply with something like that to Letterman's comments on Sheehan ?

[You are correct. Your level reading comprehension is dismal.]

I guess osama bill forgot that our soldiers have blown up quite a few women and children.

[David Letterman, meet the folks who now IDOLIZE you.]

DAMMMMNNNNN DAVID LETTERMAN!!! YOU GO BOY!!!

[GO LETTERMAN!!! YOU NOW SOUND AS STUPID AS WE ARE!!!]

there is obvious distaste for o. by L. so very obvious.

[It must be that jealously of rational thought kicking in.]

Letterman absolutely RIPPED OReily all night, referring to him constantly as "People like you."

[Yeah, it was probably this Letterman comment that won the debate for him: "I’m not smart enough to debate you point to point on this..."]

it was smackdown time by Dave!!!!!

[YUP! He just bitch slapped his career into oblivion!!!]

What a beautiful thing to watch.. I played it twice already. Thank you David Letterman !!!!!

[It was so so beautiful to watch. Dave proved that he is just as extremist loony as we are. Thank you David Letterman!!!!!]

Did anyone notice that Letterman put his pencil in O'Reillys cup?? I think I saw Dave Put his Pencil in O'Reillys Coffie cup and twirled it.

[Such a class act that David Letterman is!]

Right before he brought O'Reilly out, he twirled his pencil... ...in the cup Bill ultimately drank from (it looked pretty deliberate, too!).

[I repeat. A class act!]

Letterman is pissed, but he's staying under control while skewering...the heck out of that weasel!

[Yup! Letterman is keeping his cool while declaring that he is not smart enough to debate but that 60% of what O'Reilly says is crap. Such a rational argument I have never seen before.]

I've been a Letterman fan since before he dressed in the velcro suit and trampolined up against the velcro board. Since before he swam in a vat of Jello. Way long. Never ever have I seen him so visibly pissed off at anyone, let alone a guest. He's been steaming even after O'Lielly left. Hell, he wasn't as steamed as this about that stalker gal he had to have restrained.

[Even the stalker girl now seems more rational than Letterman.]

God bless David Letterman. And I'm a f*cking atheist! Dave was brilliant. Very serious, no jokes. Bill, you're an ass. Best Dave segment in YEARS.

[God Bless David Letterman. He was brilliant with such statements as, "I’m not smart enough to debate you point to point on this..."]

Dave and Al Franken are my heroes for the way they made him look like the idiot he is.

[Al Franken also made Letterman look like an idiot?]

there is obvious distaste for o. by L. so very obvious.

[As evidenced by sticking a pencil in O'Reilly's coffee cup before he walked into the studio.]

. This could be a REALLY big deal. Letterman/Leno the late night network talk shows are the embodiment mainstream television and mainstream culture. He shapes mainstream opinion alot more than O'Leilly. What this tells people is that this O'Leilly guy is a clown who is outside the mainstream. If others who are influential in the MSM follow Letterman they can really marginalize this guy and Fox News.

[Yes, YES!!! This could be the Walter Cronkite Moment that brings down the entire Bush Regime!!!]

i think o's ratings will be notched down a few pts after this show!!

[Hee! Hee! I think you are in for a rude SHOCK when you see the fast PLUNGE in Letterman's ratings.]

Time to tell Letterman how much you appreciate this show tonight....

["Hi David! Just a note to let you know how much you are appreciated by the loony LIHOP/MIHOP crowd!"]

E-mailed, here's what I wrote... Dear Dave
Thank you for treating evil ugly lying posturing thin skinned hypocritical right wing media gas bag Bill O`Reilly with the sort of slight regard he so richly deserves.
God bless you Sir.

[I thought you were an atheist?]

God bless David Letterman. I will remain his fan for ever more.

[As long as he keeps spewing leftist swill.]

Hey, Billy....you've just been PUNKED!!

[YUP! Letterman tossed his pencil in his coffee cup before he even got on the stage.]

I hope Dave gets more mail than he's ever recieved in his life over this !!!

[Oh, I assure he will. TONS of mail. Hee! Hee!]

get real. it was a washout. Letterman did not back up anything he said

[And this DUmmie wins a Kewpie Doll for having a brief moment of mental clarity!]

...it's almost like Dave went to see "Good Night and Good Luck" and became inspired by how main-stream television can take down a hate-monger that is shoving the country towards fascism...picked up the phone and said, "Book that McCarthyite bastard O'Reilly for the show...I'm gonna go all Edward R. Murrow on his phoney hate-talking ass."

[YUP! Dave sure did take down a big TV host last night...Himself.]

Go Letterman! I believe that the only reason he was able to say what he did is that Redstone broke up Viacom that morning. Maybe CBS will be more liberal from now on.

[LOL! CBS is going to be MORE Liberal? Any more Liberal and CBS would be falling off the cliff along with Letterman's TV career.]

Good News for you procrastinators! If you have put off nominating the DUmmie FUnnies in the Bloggies Awards then you can STILL go over to the 2006 BLOGGIES AWARDS page and nominate the DUmmie FUnnies for the MOST HUMOROUS WEBLOG. You MUST nominate at least THREE Nominees. For example, in addition to the DUmmie FUnnies, I also nominated Michelle Malkin's Blog for Best Political Blog and a Canadian Friend of mine who has a great Blog as the Best Canadian Blog plus I nominated a couple of other Blogs. However, PLEASE vote ONLY for DUmmie FUnnies in the category of MOST HUMOROUS BLOG.

Please type in DUmmie FUnnies for the name of the Blog and copy the following URL to paste in the URL section: http://www.dummiefunnies.blogspot.com

Remember, you can only nominate ONCE so don't try it more than once or your nomination is discarded. I screwed up bigtime on the Weblog Awards when I didn't realize until too late about the nominations so don't want to mess up this time. Deadline for nominations is Jan. 10 and after that the nominees are voted in the final contest.

So go ahead and get rid of those horrible guilt feelings by nominating the DUmmie FUnnies NOW!!! Thanx in advance for your support.

Oh, and you might consider checking the box asking to be on the Panel Of Voters who choose the finalists.

I was never a Letterman fan, but you have to think early-onset dimentia is starting to get him.

His personal opinons nothwithstanding, he should know that any large-scale TV personality needs to stay as apolitical as possible.

God knows how much of his audience he lost through this childish tantrum.

Don't watch/like letterman, but just watched the clip...
If it was a debate, O'Reilly chrushed him.
If based on rudeness, letterman and crowd won. Spit.

O'Reilly kept pounding his right foot into the carpet, during parts of the interview. He clearly wanted to pummel Letterman.

I remember when Dave was a decent, midwestern guy who openly admired Bob Dole. Shows what a few years in show biz does to a guy.

You know, I was a Letterman fan. My brother, who is a trombonist in NYC played on his show a few times some years ago. I never watched much late-night TV, but when I did, it was Letterman.

That ceases as of today.
