Martha Stewart Syndrome Days are Approaching...

Yes, as fall's crispness begins to touch the air, I begin to nest. My hubby calls it "Martha Stewart Syndrome". Now don't think for a minute that he is upset by this. Rather, there are two times of the year my hubby is downright ecstatic: fall and spring. There's something about crisp mornings that makes me want to paint, clean, cook, bake and all RIGHT NOW!

My favorite comedic author, Erma Bombeck, used to get the syndrome as well. She wrote that when she "came to" there was usually oxtail soup on the stove and the house was squeaky clean. I can relate. Already my baseboards are crying out for attention, and I caught myself becoming excited that screen cleaners were on sale in Home Depot the other day. The Mr. Clean Magic Eraser has become my best friend.

I also get the urge to hike in the woods. I grew up in the knobs of Kentucky. We now live on the city limits and I find myself longing to go back to the woods. One day perhaps we will. That's why Jacob's nature journal will benefit me as well. I get to hike, he gets to learn and create. We both win!

I'm also considering doing some lapbooks, so if you've had any experience with those, please let me know! ;-)

We have this ailment also. It is so much easier to clean and get life back in order after the long hot summer when their is NO HUMIDITY : ))) It is actually enjoyable to get reorganized.
