Let's not forget: Terri is being executed by authority of Jeb Bush

The shocking governmental homicide of Terri Schiavo has many dimensions, twists, and turns--all of which, upon analysis, converge on one inescapable reality: The life of Terri Schiavo is solely in the hands of Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.

While Terri lies dying by slow execution in a Pinellas Park hospice, Gov. Bush and others have looked mainly to the legislative process for relief--knowing full well that any special law intended to spare Terri's life will likely be overturned or disregarded by unsympathetic courts on the pretext of "separation of powers."

Terri's protectors have also appealed repeatedly to the courts themselves to correct their own excesses and lapses throughout this horrific ordeal--with equally predictable results.

At this point, the obvious solution is an executive one.

The case for executive relief

Any delegating of executive authority to the other branches will not only fail to save Terri, it appears--because the courts pretend to reign supreme, at the expense of true equilibrium between the branches--but it amounts to passing the authoritative buck.

The result will be not only the unconscionable death of an innocent woman whose execution cannot be justified on the basis of the facts, let alone on moral grounds, but the executive power will be shown to be what it has willfully become: impotent.

Not only that, but if Terri dies, the executive authority in Florida will be directly complicit.

No other entity in the state has authority to kill Terri. The courts can't do it. Nor can the legislature do anything directly about it. Only the executive can actually put people to death, under constitution-based law.

This fact dispels any notion that the governor is powerless to spare Terri. The truth is, only the governor--who oversees all agencies of executive power in the state--can in fact put Terri to death.

Officers already acting to kill Terri

Under authority of Jeb Bush, police are already at the scene--not to protect Terri, but to ensure that she is killed. They are, in fact, executing her.

Numerous well-meaning people who have tried to feed Terri--acting from simple respect for Judeo-Christian morality and compassion--have been arrested by uniformed officers who are acting on executive orders drawn up in conflict with the clear written meaning of constitutional law.

Rather than stand firm on the separation of powers principle upon which the Constitution, itself, is based, the executive power--at this very moment in the Terri Schiavo case--is actively participating in Terri's murder, having abdicated constitutional authority to the emerging bullies in government: the judiciary.

The result is total chaos, in the midst of an unprecedented constitutional crisis, the only remedy to which is for the executive to defend his rightful turf and preserve not only Terri's life, but the life of the republic.

The outward "orderliness" with which Terri is now being cruelly put to death--upon "orders" from an agenda-driven judiciary that has no power to act--belies the real truth of what is happening. Our nation's heart is being ripped out by the executive--not by anyone else--and with that loss goes our moral authority as a nation to lead the world.

As some suggest, we are behaving as a third-world dictatorship that cares little about innocent human life, and less about constitutional law.

Gov. Bush, put a stop to this travesty right now, for the sake of all that our nation stands for, in the interest of meriting God's merciful protection of our country in the years ahead.

If you "allow" Terri to die, you will indeed be her chief executioner.

Here's a thought. It's never been done in US history, but Jeb Bush could promise a pardon to anyone who helps Terri.

Just a thought. Pardons were meant for mercy, not for getting money from Clinton/Rodham crack dealer pardons.

FReegards....

That's BS. The Governor along with most others in the GOP ranks did everything within the law to save her. Lets not start eating our own....

This thing is incredibly stupid. Gov. Bush is a Governor! He's not a Dictator. And he has pushed his legal power to the limit trying to save this woman's life.

Ahhh, yes. It always come back around to "it's the Republicans' fault."

Exactly! This blamegame is ridiculous. There is only one person responsible for this entire thing and that is Michael.

The President, The Governor, even Congress went where "no man went before" and shouldn't have gone yet they did all they could do that was within their power to do.

They tread were angels fear to tread and yet people are saying it wasnt enough?

All these court proceedings, all these judges when they should have gone to the HIGHEST POWER, GOD only and prayed to see what God wants, not what mass hysteria wants, or the press wants or judges want or even Michael wants but what does God want in all this?

Enough is enough.

The Democratic Party Is Evil. Mrs. Schiavo is being treated worse than a lame horse: But she is not a horse. There are people who are willing to take care of her. And now I can't help but ask myself why her husband is so determined to kill her? Is it because she is useless to him? Is it because she is an inconvenience for him? For whatever reason, I begin now to compare Michael Schiavo's character to that of Scott Peterson's. In any case the law should never allow anyone the legal right to take another person's life simply because that person is unable to feed themselves. It is this woman's right to live as she is. And it is society's responsibility to guarantee her right to life whether or not she is able to communicate. Forget her husband's wishes and forget her parent's wishes: Society has a responsibility to protect the life of helpless persons. And even if her husband is telling the truth, the government has no authority to help people to commit suicide. Government should always encourage its citizens to live and should pass laws that uplift life. And this woman is alive. She is not brain dead. She is a living human being and a citizen of the U.S.A. The Democrats now accuse Congress of meddling in family matters and of meddling with 200 years of jurisprudence. Another BIG lie. The fact is that the Democratic Party in America is evil. It has an agenda of selfishness, greed, lust and death.

What are you willing to do if Gov. Bush does NOT act according to your wishes?

Hundreds of posts are calling for the impeachment of Greer, Whittemore and every other judge who has found for the Michael Schiavo, for essentially not finding in Terri's favor. So if President George W. Bush, or Gov. Jeb Bush, fails to act—or perhaps not act—in Terri's interest, and he does not send in the troops, do we add their names to that list of people to impeach in this matter? I ask this not to be quarrelsome, but because that is exactly the argument that will be used by those on the left. We need to face the issue first. I want Terri's life to continue. I would like nothing more than to see her husband lose his rights are her guardian, but is this the step we want to take to make this happen?

Wait a minute. The Courts rule supreme in Florida. They are more powerful than the joint forces of the Legislature and the Governor. It's similar in any state.

Terri Schiavo is not a person; therefore, she has NO right to life. She is not a criminal; therefore, the Governor cannot pardon her. She is a plant--the property of a rather disturbed man named Michael Schiavo. So have ruled the Courts. Her species is not endangered; therefore, she cannot seek protection as such.

And "she" should be "it." But the judgments of the Courts are beyond appeal. And there is no legal mechanism to transform a plant into a person--even if the plant is genetically human.

Thanks to the Judges, this case fundamentally devolves into the question of whether Michael Schiavo must water a potted plant. The Courts have ruled that he has no such obligation, and since he prefers, he can wait for his potted plant to wither, wilt, and die, and then he may burn it.

Consider Terri Schiavo as a lawn weed. Does the Governor have the power to intervene on behalf of a lawn weed or a potted plant? No.

I think he's done about all he can do legally, although I have heard he is still searching for other approaches. He can't legally override the courts, unfortunately, and all of his attempts to get it out of the clutches of the judiciary have failed.

Terri is being executed by the courts, which are being manipulated by a group of people with ulterior motives (some practical, some ideological) who want her dead. Jeb Bush is not among them.

Soldiers offered Jesus liquid at the Crucifixion.

The Governor should grant a stay of execution. Heck, they do it for murderers, why not for the innocent victim in this case?

As his brother put it, "Error on the side of Life". If Jeb Bush remains quiet on this, I will have lost a lot of respect for him.

Right. It's the Republicans fault she dies. I see.

It's not the Judicial system, the Dems in opposition, the majority of the country that sanctioned this or the devil. No. It's the Republicans.

may I ask ALL who encourage vigilante action what they think they'll achieve? Think Terri's life will be spared? Because it won't. They'll be impeached while terri is returned to be killed. So then what is the purpose behind this action? To FEEL Good?

I agree. What happened is horrible, but there is bigger fight and that is the fight against the runaway judiciary. I have a feeling that something good came from this. It showed the lack of contempt that judges have for the law.
