FReeper advice sought.
Hubby and I are "empty nest" types, and we need information on which states are pro-gun and which are anti-gun. We may eventually relocate, and this info will help us decide where to start looking.
Thanks. E.C.
And for added encentive we are INCOME TAX FREE!
Memphis has the highest crime, but any where else is fairly decent. Neashville is high crime but only by half of Memphis'. Rural areas are great. Area around Land Between the Lakes is beautiful. East TN has harsher weather than the Memphis area in the winter.
Highest paying jobs are probably in the Nashville area, or Oak Ridge area.
Cost of Living is fairly low.
Where do you live now? Also, Texas, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Alaska, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, and Alabama are pretty pro gun.
California, Washington, New York, Vermont, Delaware, pretty much anything along the Eastern seaboard is pretty anti gun.
Kansas, Ohio, Indiana, and Florida, I'm not sure about. You might try asking these questions in the individual state boards.
Thank you GailA.
I think Tennessee is beautiful. Definitely worth thinking about.

We are now living in the midwest, in a small town that's far from "good" jobs, so I am doing some heavy-duty commuting ... and gas prices are getting to be prohibitive ...
I too am of the impression that the eastern seaboard is antigun though Virginia does have right to carry. I can't say for sure about N.C. or S.C.
There must be websites out there that have lists of all the states and how they measure up. I will have to keep doing websearches in hopes of finding a site like that.
Thank you for your help writer33.

Ever take a trip to Seattle. There's enough trigger locks over there to supply a small country.
I live in a suburb of Seattle...Don't have a single trigger lock and they are not required.....
That's amazing considering how looney the west side of the state is. It is truly miraculous, which means its only a matter of time.
Hey fella you better do some research....This State has been a lot easier to get a carry permit in than a lot of the so called gun easy states for a long time...And another thing, you should check on Vermont, no permit required there to carry open or concealed....About the only thing one can't own here in Washington is a machine gun...I admit it would be nice to own a few, but I can forgive that little glitch over not having to jump through hoops, take classes and pay high fees to carry the pistol tucked into my belt right now....
I'm an old man and am heading for bed now...If you have more I'll reply tomorrow....
westmex, thanks for telling me about
http://www.packing.org/
