Hoo boy! I made a nice drink; Buffalo Trace Bourbon (2/3) and Cynar (1/3) a splash of Angostura, and Luxardo cherries (2). Happily, I made it as if I had a friend over, so not a double, but a quadruple!
Later, I have two beautiful lamb chops standing by with a large sprig of rosemary for the cast iron pan. Fresh loaf of rustic baguette and fried young spinach.
What are you having?
Yeah, me too, but what do you want to die of? Slowly with bread and diabetes? Or fast with a steak and a heart attack? ;-)
Good luck on that. Take Vitamin B and C.
I’ve been on the 5:2 fast for 3 weeks now. I’ve lost 7 pounds.

I’m 65. My father died at age 69. Older brother at 63. I don’t plan on following their example.
Yup. Good luck with that, truly. My family dies of smoking (which i do not do), or the flu. So who knows with me?
I exercise like a bandit, and eat real food moderately.
One pays the bills and takes ones chances.
That’s my plan to go on 5:2. But I want to try one long-term fast to see how it works out. I’ve been working my way up to it by doing strict Keto and OMAD for the last few weeks.
Lime juice, sugar, triple sec and Sauza Hornitos Reposada; eyeballed quantities and mixed with ice and salt.

I’m going to the gym going on 6 months, and lost 15-20, down to 170 at 5’11”. Workin’ it. And I eat well. Red meat once a week, a couple of vegetarian dinners in there, and a whole lot of real food.
Gotta try, at least.
Good. I was thinking that you were going hard-core fasting all at once. Bad idea.
But it sounds like you’ve been building up to this.
Good luck.
Today is Friday, so I had a nice piece of salmon, with steamed broccoli and a little white rice on the side.
I’ll give it a try.
Thanks!!

Bzango! That’s a helluva good mix. I do that but use Gran Marnier instead of triple sec. Same tequila and real fresh squeezed lime though.
There have been some days, I’ve had to literally force myself to eat. My biggest problem is getting in enough calories on some days.
There’s always a proper milkshake, if you’re running low on calories.
15 years ago Mrs. R2 and I went on the South Beach diet with gym work. Lost 40 pounds in 4 months.
But that takes a permanent 24/7/365 commitment. Something I choose not to do.
This 5:2 diet requires no carb or calorie counting. Eat OMAD and fast 2 out of 7.
Even pigging out last week at Thanksgiving - I still lost 2 pounds that week.
I had a chili cheese burger with malt fries and my wife had a fish fry. We polished those off with two Pernicious IPAs. Good stuff at MCGregor’s Pub in Cary, NC which is pretty much Raleigh, NC.
I used to do those...as a teenager.
It was a running bit on “Hee Haw.”
I read teenagers should not do long-term fasts.
When I was a teenager, the Bio teacher had us count calories for a day. I was 8,000 and 130 lbs.
I like SoCo with eggnog. Two shots in a big coffee mug full of nog. It's festive.
