Hoo boy! I made a nice drink; Buffalo Trace Bourbon (2/3) and Cynar (1/3) a splash of Angostura, and Luxardo cherries (2). Happily, I made it as if I had a friend over, so not a double, but a quadruple!
Later, I have two beautiful lamb chops standing by with a large sprig of rosemary for the cast iron pan. Fresh loaf of rustic baguette and fried young spinach.
What are you having?
Time for me to go cook! Everyone have a good evening, and I’ll check in later!
Sitting down to my dinner. My wish is that Everyone should eat this well. Communism be damned.
Kitty gets her portion too!
Since you mentioned Cynar, though, I may have to go dig out my bottle and mix up something. It does make a nice variation on an Old Fashioned.
Creole potato salad, burgers with a ton of diced habaneros, and something green if the wife has a say in it.
Steak bites, made in a cast iron skillet, with Cheesy mashed.potato balls. To drink, a homemade strawberry daiquiri slushee.
I can’t tell if you’re a dude (steak) or a chick (slushie)!
Had chicken soup, a pork tenderloin, fried potatoes and mixed vegetables for dinner. Sitting here drinking coffee and reading some Faulkner with my dog curled up on my lap, while the missus is dozing through a Hallmark Christmas movie.
Dude. Hellofalotta vodka in that daq.
Kielbasa and home grown sweet potatoes for dinner, now I’m sipping on a margarita (fresh made, not from a mix).
Tex Mex chili with melted cheese, sides of guacamole and sour cream, chips, and home made jalapeno poppers stuffed with cream cheese, extra sharp cheese, bacon and crunchy French fried onions. TGIF, y’all! Hubby added beer. I stick with diet coke and Malibu rum.
Hot Peppered Eggs (cooked in olive oil, with crushed red pepper and lots of black pepper) until the edges are crispy, corned beef hash done for 25 min in the air fryer, and some buttered scali toast, topped off with fresh squeezed orange juice...:)
Gonna use my big cast iron one to cook, though, not that wimpy teflon one. It doesn't get the eggs as crispy.!
Must have been those years in the Navy when I went nearly a year eating mid-rats. Don't think I saw anything but breakfast foods...
Chicken salad sandwiches, Fritos, and a Monster energy drink... I’m on duty. You take what you can get, and stay awake.
I was born into a nominally (Christmas and Easter) christian household. Never believed that stuff.
My first wife was Jewish. I practiced for 25 years; read the Torah straight through, attended Lubavitcher synagogue, kept kosher, raised a Jewish daughter. I keep a Shabbat dinner going, though modified for my agnostic(?) bride.
Interesting how Western Civ kinda forces you into Christianity (if you get that) or Judaism. Foundational. If you don’t pick up one of those, you tend to pick up Marx (evil.)
So along we go. Good Shabbos!
What’s your margarita program?
I looked it up: George Killian’s Irish Red, brewed by Coors for sale in North America. Apparently it’s still made, but I haven’t looked for it in about 40 years.
I had redfish and salad earlier with sweet tea.
Cast iron is da bomb. In our newly remodeled kitchen, I hung three planks of raw edged redwood with about 12 hooks for my cast iron collection. Looks good and where else can you keep your dozen plus collection?
What are you having?
