Over 10,000 killed in Kiev’s punitive op - Ukrainian MPs
Russia Today ^ | 8-8-2014 | RT

Posted on 08/08/2014 9:46:41 PM PDT by tcrlaf

More than ten thousand people have been killed in Kiev’s punitive operation in southeastern Ukraine since April, said a Ukrainian parliamentary group. The MPs addressed the president urging to declassify information on citizens killed.

The Ukrainian parliamentary group “For peace and stability” said on Friday that the figure was given by volunteer groups working in the east of the country, ITAR-TASS reported.

“We have estimated that just in the first two weeks of July nearly 2,500 Ukrainian soldiers were killed in the area of the ‘anti-terrorist operation’,” the group said in a statement in the Verhovnaya Rada (Ukraine’s parliament).

“The number of wounded during the same period was more than 5,000 people. Thousands of civilians fell victim to military actions. Most of them died from shrapnel wounds. Thus, the preliminary number of the Ukrainians killed during the anti-terrorist operation, is more than 10,000 people according to our estimates,” said the co-chairman of the parliamentary group, Sergey Gorokhov.

The MPs also addressed Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and the government, urging to “declassify the official data on the amount of people - civilians, Ukrainian soldiers, and everyone who took part in the anti-terrorist operation – who were killed.”

Gorokhov stated that the president receives a report on the people killed in the operation every day, but it is classified. Meanwhile, the families of those missing in the military operation zone petition the government each day in the “hope that their close ones will be found,” he added.

Keep it up ya Russkie scumbags

Awesome. Just the sort of detailed analysis I've been hoping for on the Ukraine situation.

Learn to debate, advocate your position, present facts.

Don't just shriek insults.

Reported for abuse.

Here's your analysis: Russian media lies, and so do the Putin-cheerleading squad on FR.

That was better. At any rate it was quieter.

Brother: I think a lot of FReepers would like to see dispassionate presentation of just what is going on in Ukraine.

We’re not getting it - because every thread - and I mean every. damn. thread. on the Ukraine attracts a group who yell insults, throw rhetorical bombs and indulge in toxic passive aggression.

Let’s all try not to be part of that.

Then they need to pay more attention, and, preferably, not believe anything from Russian media, or Tcrlaf, Caww, McGruff, Rashputin, and any other of these freaks who repeat lies in every thread, over and over again, even after being corrected a thousand times, like the shameless Neo-Soviet scumbags they are.

and indulge in toxic passive aggression.

I will do my best to not be passive aggressive anymore. That is like my worst trait.

Funny how you don’t say the same thing about Kiev propaganda coming straight from the tap, posted on FR.

You aren’t a HYPOCRITE, are you?

Oh no! When I was complaining about ‘passive aggression’ I didn’t mean you!

Your insults were at least admirably forthright and manful.

I was thinking of posts in other threads that started talking about trclaf in the 3rd person as if he wasn’t there. Ugh, I hate that. Sorry for the confusion.

RT is a disinformation news site run by the Russian state. There is no question about this. The Russians have been doing this for a century. They think they’re pretty good at. I think they’re losing their touch. It would be funny if people’s lives were not at stake.

Stick around and pay more attention in these threads. The problem isn't your regular Freeper insulting these vile scumbags or treating them as non-entities (they are not "persons" in the philosophical sense anyway, and therefore we have no moral obligations towards them). The problem are these freaks who lie even about their opponents straight to their faces.

Tcrlaf, for example, lies like he breathes. He sits there and even tells me that I've said things like "the war will be over in 2 weeks" or other accusations of things I've allegedly said or done, just to make me look stupid, when he knows damn well I never said a thing like it. And he does it repeatedly, constantly, consistently. And it's not just him who is dishonest as hell.

These guys are not normal posters. A stupid PaulBot, at least, might have at least some honor and will not lie, but will be sincere in his position. These guys lie about everything. I do not insult them just because they disagree with me. I insult them because they are liars, and they spread lies on FR shamelessly and subtly, consistently and constantly, like demons who don't sleep.

Pay more attention in these threads, and you'll see it for yourself sooner or later.

Noted. Russia is the country that invented ‘Maskirovka’, after all.

I think we can all agree that RT - or “Russia Today” - has a Russian agenda. 99% of the MSM represents a hard-Marxist agenda. FOX news has a RINO agenda. We live in a world where we have to parse the source. Have to.

What I would like to know - apropos of this thread - have 10,000 people in fact been killed in a punitive op in Kiev? Is there supporting evidence? Do RT back up their assertions?

Will this thread examine that question? Will it clear that low, low bar?

Or will this be just another thread where FReepers - Freepers that I respect - turn up and yell “you Borscht-sucking scumbags are all Putin’s Boyfriends”?

“These guys are not normal posters.”

You will note how this works...
He makes NOT ONE comment about any of the articles, and if you check his posting history, you’ll notice that it just isn’t RT or Russian sources it objects to, but ANY source that isn’t whatever today’s Kiev Propaganda happens to be.

This is Propaganda trolling in the classic sense, designed to obscure and obsfuscate away from whatever might make its masters in Kiev look bad.

This particular hypocrite has gotten several threads (Not just RT ones) deleted by the mods for “Too much Infighting”, all of it created by him. Out of the 25 posts on this thread, only THREE are about the subject at hand, proving what I am saying.

How this one is allowed to continually insult and accuse, on FR, is frankly beyond me.

There can be no sensible and adult conversation about the facts under such conditions. Which is EXACTLY what it hopes to achieve.

You have YET to comment on the actual article yet, haven’t you.

I pegged you, and dismissed you, as one of Yarosh’s Nazi trolls long ago.

You should be wondering whether or not the Russians killed 10,000 people just to blame it on the Ukrainians: "Russia has repeatedly accused members of this council of politicizing a humanitarian situation. But Russia has it backwards. In fact, it is Russia that is trying to disguise a political crisis – one manufactured and exported by Moscow – as a humanitarian one. The very humanitarian problems that Russia is decrying in eastern Ukraine, and turning a blind eye to in Crimea, are directly traceable to violence it has facilitated or supported.

Why have thousands of people been displaced? Look no further than the – quote “egregious human rights abuses” end quote – in separatist-controlled areas documented in the UN report.

Why do civilians lack access to basic services? The UN report documents the – quote “deliberate targeting by the armed groups of critical public utilities like water, electricity, and sewerage plants,” end quote.

These heroic Russkie freedom-fighters are even fighting like Hamas, shelling and parking their tanks next to residential buildings, just to hope for the Ukrainians to retaliate, and then RT gets another news story.

It's only been going on for three months, so it's perfectly understandable that you don't know what the problem is. Here's a primer for you, though:

"That night, in the administration building in Antratsit, they tortured a local resident who was also accused of espionage -- I heard his cries. After beating him, he was 'packed into' a wooden trunk, and then they screwed on the lid (they looked around for a screw-driver for a long time), and carried him away. Judging from the following unfavorable commentaries from the 'counter-intelligence agents,' the guy, having decided that they were going to bury him alive, didn't withstand the nervous stress and soiled himself in their favorite torture box."

There is no doubt that Putin is a bully and enjoys displaying power. There is no doubt that he deeply resents and harms former USSR countries who attempt to head west.

We have seen it many times and I have many close friends in Tbilisi.

Speaking of evil, you have told me twice that you believe all Muslims, regardless if they are Pro-American Kurds, the guy running the gas station, or an ISIS member, need to be placed into concentration camps.

All good Muslims need to be exterminated.

Is a Kurd a good Muslim? Probably not, even if he professes to be one. Same for the gas station owner. They have yet to go through the experience of Ayaan Hirsi Ali, who renounced the religion in 2002, after concluding that it really did justify 9/11.

Is an ISIS member a good Muslim? For sure! Concentration camp? Bah! He and all of his kind need to be wasted in situ, the United Nations Human Rights Council be damned! Kindly be educated!
