Gay Parents Line Up For White House Easter Egg Roll Tickets

WASHINGTON -- Hundreds of gay and lesbian parents hoping to take their families to the annual White House Easter Egg Roll plan to start lining up Friday evening to make sure they get tickets for the Monday event.

Thousands of tickets — an estimated 16,000 last year — are given away on a first-come-first-come basis beginning at 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

National Park Service officials said Wednesday that children of all ages may attend as long as there is at least one child 7 years old or younger, and no more than two adults per group.

First lady Laura Bush's office issued a statement saying all families are welcome to attend.

So typical, thinking everybody needs YOUR help.

Homosexuality is a predisposed condition no one ask for; Same sex is the behavior as a result of the abnormal 'feelings of attraction' of said condition.

Abnormal behavior can be overcome with the desire to do so.
This is the truth that needs to be told. This is the support those who want to overcome the abnormal feelings need from us and society. Love them enough to tell them the truth.

Not my help, God's help. If you don't think you need it, I would recommend that you look in the mirror before accusing someone else of sanctimony.

Most effects are also causes, and vice versa. History isn't static.

I did not equate the passage of time with progress but with change. I didn't make any value-judgment, but merely informed you that the world has changed, and that refusing to accept it won't change it back.

And of course I did not "dismiss" Western civilization. That would be as ridiculous as your thinking that I did. What I pointed out is that traditional Christianity is incompatible with modern Western civilization, and in particular with women's liberation.

That train has left the station, and it's not going back. Sorry!

Did you deliberately miss my point?

You seem to think other people need YOUR help to speak to God.

I would recommend that you not be so dang self-rightous. It's very unbecoming.

Now you may have the last condescending word because, frankly, I'm not interested in YOUR kind of religion.

PS. And by "traditional Christianity" I do not mean what is now oftentimes referred to that way, which is usually the Christianity of the mid 20th century, or at times of the late 19th century. I am referring to pre-Enlightenment Christianity, or perhaps even pre-Reformation Christianity. The boundaries aren't neat anyhow, but mostly conceptualized in hindsight.

You mistake sincerity for condescension. I'm still going to pray for you no matter how nasty you are to me.

So Americans who happen to be Gay are not to be allowed on the White House lawn...is that your position?

Nope. I'm saying let those who "happen to be gay" keep their "gayness" to themselves at a traditional event for children. The homosexuals are planning a massive presence here, with "rainbow" leis to indentify themselves as homosexuals. They're forcing their agenda onto the vast majority of families who want to be left alone.

We are in agreement with 90 percent of the people on this forum.

Howlin, you & about 6-8 others constitute your own majority on FR of libs, lefties & anti-Christians & anti-conservatives. I have yet to see you in a single thread that you are not holding forth a lib, leftist, DemocRAT view... not ever. If you consider yourself a conservative, then you're more deluded than I thought. Every thread that you're on, you are combating 99% of the other FReepers. Like I said you & about 6-8 others constitute your own lib, leftist, DUmmmie majority. Leave us now!

Too bad GW Bush doesn't see this in light of Biblical truth and cancel this charade

That's what we need.

A horde of upset parents and crying children who were looking forward but to hunting easter eggs but now can't because the army of God says there are sinners in their midst.

Do you know how exactly like the Pharisees you are?

Strain at a gnat, swallow a camel.

"I'll bet they didn't consider that this may cause the egg roll to be cancelled. "

That would give them quite the strategic victory - they could say (and get many people to agree) - look, the White House is so biggoted that would take Easter away from all children than allow equal access.

The Bush Administration is quite correct in their handling.

Too bad if you're mad because we don't agree with you and your tunnelvision views, but this isn't the schoolyard, it's a political forum. We get a say, too, which I am sure is your problem.

What part of "event for kids" don't you understand?

The part where certain parents are obsessed with the other kids' parents

Hey, you've just described the homosexual activists, a tiny minority obsessed with normal heterosexual families, who planned and organized a massive turnout, complete with uniforms, to undermine and politicize a traditional children's event.

Ironic, isn't it?

Me: What would you like them to do instead?

Old_Mill: Change it from a random drawing to an invitation only event. Or cancel the thing

That would give them a huge strategic vicroty - showing that the White House would do anything to avoid equal access.

Equal rights are good. Everybody has the right to stand in line and wear the clothing of their choice.

Special rights for sexual orientation are what we need to avoid.

How is a group of people with rainbow leis "forcing their agenda" on anybody? Just ignore them if you don't like rainbow leis.

If you're in a restaurant, and a group of bikers come in with confederate flags on their t-shirts, do you get your back up over their "agenda"?

No, it isn't. You are assuming that they want to undermine the Egg Roll.

But, the only ones I've seen who are obsessed with the presence of gay parents at this event are you guys.

Bikers with confederate flags on their shirts aren't pushing to legalize marriage to other bikers with confederate flags on their shirts. They aren't invading schools and forming clubs to try and recruit children into becoming bikers. They aren't pushing to see the curriculum changed to include materials that teach children that motorcycle riding is actually a mainstream activity engaged in by 10% of the population and that the south won the civil war.

Sorry you can't see the difference, but as per your post on another thread, it's clear to me why you "...won't be the won crying if Hillary is elected..."
