WASHINGTON -- Hundreds of gay and lesbian parents hoping to take their families to the annual White House Easter Egg Roll plan to start lining up Friday evening to make sure they get tickets for the Monday event.
Thousands of tickets an estimated 16,000 last year are given away on a first-come-first-come basis beginning at 7:30 a.m. Saturday.
National Park Service officials said Wednesday that children of all ages may attend as long as there is at least one child 7 years old or younger, and no more than two adults per group.
First lady Laura Bush's office issued a statement saying all families are welcome to attend.

Disney has homosexual days events at the end of the school year for adult homsoexuals. The attendees are notorious for wearking shirts with sexual references and comments. Disney refuses to warn people that they are scheduling their family vacations at the same time. Any idea what weeks are involved?. I'm concerned our family may be planning a trip within that window of time.

Are you talking about those who would ban children from an event like this because of their parents political beliefs/lifestyle, or about those who would draw attention to the fact the some children through no fault of their own have gay parents? The answer should be self-evident. There is no homosexual test. It is only those proclaiming their homosexual preference that make public the issue. It is and was always an Easter egg roll NEVER a homosexual pride festival. There is nothing wrong with opposing the perversion of the event so why attempt to moral relatively argue the case against opposition?

In a word, yes.
Sorry you disagree.
I belong to the United Methodist Church and I know their philosophies - anti-war, anti-gun, anti-death penalty, pro-affirmative action, supportive of illegal invaders, internationalist in thinking rather than patriotic.
John Wesley would never recognize it, nor would Methodists of several generations back.
All reasons why I'm leaving it.

So you don't have a problem with gay parents bringing their children as long as they don't mention anything political? That's fair enough - and it should apply to straights too. Parents shouldn't be using this as a forum to to talk about their sexual preferences, to talk about their opinions on the Iraq war or anything else not related to kids having a good time with an Easter Egg roll.

I do not see a problem with anybody bringing children.
As far as "That's fair enough - and it should apply to straights too." I would term the "straights" to be normal heterosexuals and the "gays" to be abnormal heterosexuals -- Regardless, I have seen no news stories recent or past involving "straights" championing some cause using the egg roll as springboard...

my question was how you deal with gays having their own biological children. Presumably they're "accessorizing" too.
My answer: What about them? I wasn't referring specifically to them.
If they're using their children as political pawns to advance their perverse sexual agenda, then they are by definition bad parents, just as the "fat redneck who beats his wife" mentioned by a poster above is a bad parent. I have no problem excluding them, just as I'd have no problem excluding the "fat redneck who beats his wife", if he was soliciting other "fat rednecks rednecks who beat their wifes" to attend and wear tee-shirts celebrating the fact that they are "fat rednecks who beat their wives."

I understand the thread. The post I was commenting on brought the Pope into the mix, suggesting that he would react the same as some of posters who are being criticized for bigoted/racist comments.

It is usually after school lets out in early June. (the activists deny they planned it that way.
Don't know the details but you can do a search here on FR and find it (along with some pictures of the "participants")

And I know that he wouldn't deny the children of homosexual couples the fun of an Easter Egg Hunt. Or is your understanding of his thinking that shallow?
Of course you realize this isn't about "the children." Not for one second. They are victims of their parents psychological/spiritual problems.
Many in the homo community do call Benedict XVI a bigot (and much, much worse) based on his exclusion of homosexuals from the priesthood and the Catholic Church's teaching that homosexual acts are "acts of grave depravity" and that the orientation itself is "gravely disordered." Do you agree with them?

It is the attraction that makes someone gay, not the action. Can you support this statement? There are many "ex-gays" who would dispute it.

*whew!* - Thanks for the link (well, I don't suppose it was a very enjoyable link - just informative) - our family is heading down to Disneyland the day after school gets out and I was in a bit of a panic after I saw your post! Luckily, we miss the "event" by well over a week....
