Keep your Freinds close and your enemys closer ! Yeah, that's the ticket. Allow WMD's to disburse from our shores undetected and kill millions of us at one time. Yep, couldn't give our enemies any better deal. (slaps forehead)

Nope, sorry, but it's not backwards. They will own the ports and profit from their activities, but will not administer them. That duty falls to the Coast Guard, DHS, and Customs, all American citizens who operate under union rules and federal law.

Could it remotely be that there has been some sort of pressure or blackmail that if the US did not hire the Arabs that something terrible would happen say at a theme park or race event? Something that Bush felt we had no defense for?

Well, I have a rant coming, but it aint for 'peasants'. Got any non-sarcastic questions? As for immigration, you have two states right now with the National Guard manning the borders. When Americans wake up to the fact that it wont work, they might begin to look at solutions that have a chance, other than all this reactionary nonsense.

"I agree. I also think that there are many who are thinking more in terms of political fall out rather than security issues. At least that's the jist of what I've read here, though I must admit, after page one, I'm confused and wondering whether or not freerepublic has morphed into the DU."
One more thing....let the political fall out begin. Even if Bush were to change his mind about this, and I'm not saying he should, it wouldn't matter, the damage is done. "Security" roles are reversed and the left is having a field day.

----You voted and got out of the way.---- There's a Miers-less Supreme Court that says I, along with millions of other Americans, did no such thing.
There's also a congressional election coming up, the results of which will determine whether or not GWB is impeached. Hardly something that merits your arrogance.

Since the rats are against this deal, there must be because they think they can win some election points....not that it is a bad deal.
Bush bashers don't even wait for the evening news!

EAE's Dubai Ports World is planning to give interviews but won't be speaking to CNN. The official word is:
"CNN won't shut up Lou Dobbs!"
lmao, no kidding! I can hardly stand to watch him too.

Guess what company will now be able to get their muslim "employees" work visas to the U.S. to "manage the ports"?
Certainly not Dubai World Ports. What part of "the ports will not be administrated or staffed by Dubai World Ports" employees is so difficult to understand? The ports will continue to be administrated by the British who are there now, and operations will be carried out by Customs, DHS, and the Coast Guard, American citizens all, and operating under US federal law and union rules.
