Harriet Miers and bird flu seem to be the topics of the day.

Well, Well. Another Biden-less, McCain-less week.

Note the focus: Harriet Miers. Subtle undercurrent of Bush-bashing via Miers. Pat Buchanan and Tim Russet?

Bird flu keeps creeping into the MSM consciousness.

Gary Bauer! It's the revenge of rat boy.

What, they couldn't find the ever shifty Ralph Reed?

Gingrich did a flipflop during the week.

Tues/Wed he was extremely apprehensive of the Miers nomination.

By Thurs/Fri he was all in favor of her confirmation. (Newt much have enjoyed those calls from the WH.)

It would be more fun to watch the foot-race to the open mic between Graham and Gingrich.

Thanks, as usual, AB for the thread.
Looks like a pretty weak lineup today.
There are a load of topics today it will be interesting to see what surfaces and what does not.
Will the hammer get hammered, does anyone like Harriet Miers--and is it our job to support the Presidents pick or not, was Valerie Pflame a spy or merely a trophy wife/wannbe spy and was there even anything to even out,how much do we spend on nat. disasters like hurricanes, the earthquake in Pakistan--do building codes really matter, and finally just to list a few topics, what is the world record for a political party demagoguing a sitting president. I think the rats have just set a new record. If Bush's tie is on crooked can they impeach.

Let the games begin.

Today I thought I might do something a bit different. I am asking for your input. If you have a favorite post or would like to give suggestions for the top three posters, let me know via freepmail.

FACE THE NATION (CBS): Sens. Sam Brownback, R-Kan., and Charles Schumer, D-N.Y.

C. Schumer - male chauvinist pig

Here's a question that Chuckie will dodge--
"Can a woman belong to your lodge?"
Female Masons he'd thwart,
But he'd help gals abort
His thinking is such a hodge-podge.

Arlen Specter is such a clown. Him and leaky openly thinking of ways to 'get Myers'.

Ole' Stephy is actually trying to run the hearings, demanding that Karl Rove be made to testify to see what she told Myers, yadda' yadda' yadda'

Yahoo! I am leaving for a four day vacation in less than an hour. I am going to stay away from all of this news and politics -- I am sure it will all still be waiting for me come Thursday.

Thanks AB.

Gary Bauer made the most sense this morning of anyone so far.

He is staunchly opposed to Miers, and this is more bad news for this awful nomination. Add his name to George Will, Robert Bork, William Kristol, Michelle Malkin, Charles Krauthammer, Byron York, Ann Coulter, and Pat Buchanan in the list who oppose Miers.

This nomination was a colossal mistake. Karl Rove was too clever by half with this Hail Mary pass.

(note to self)

On 10/9/2005 none of the Sunday morning talks shows (including the one on ABC run by a Democrat pretending to be a "journalist") had as their main topic Tom Delay. This, of course, means that the political tea leaves are saying Delay is going to come out smelling like a rose.

I am so mad!..Juan Williams in Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace said that Gonzales would have been a better political move, because at least it would have scored points with the “Hispanics.” Hugrrrrrrr…. That felt like a kick in the b***.

IF ANYTHING, the only thing I am GRATEFUL for, is that he did not choose GONZALES, thanks God!!!!!..... Because that would have put me, and many here, in a very difficult situation. You I, am many “Hispanics” could care less if they elect or choose someone Hispanic for a particular office…. What we want – on my side of the ‘Hispanic-spectrum’ is QUALITY, CONSERVATIVE QUALITY. If we ever produce someone of that caliber, then I might feel proud, but the suggestion that a mediocre candidate would somehow thrill us, “the hispanics” (all painted with the same brush), is offensive. I don't know where Mr Williams gets that perception other than the fact he is black, and as we all know 90% or so, of blacks vote democratic. We hispanics are a different bunch in many many different ways.

I could say more, but I'll stop here :)

And now a word from our real Sponsors of Free Speech

The Men and Women who serve,
and have served, our country
are the ones who make sure that
the Politicans and Judges are free to do their job.

We would not have a US Supreme Court
without the protection of the Military.

Politicans and Judges are safe
because of the Military who protect them.

TEST : Call your Senator or Congressman's office
AFTER 5 PM, or on the weekend.
IF you speak to an actual person, ask who's in charge today?

Now look up the phone number
of your local military base.
Call that number 24/7
and ask the live voice you get
to speak with the person in charge.

Send a Thank You while you enjoy your Freedom also.
