At first glance it looked like a custom, 29 character, 128 bit WEP encryption key, but it is actually 32 characters. Finding the wireless network that it belongs to would be hard to do if it were a WEP key.
Probably psyops. I am way behind on the thread right now!
Jihadis probably drive around sniffing for and then using open wireless networks they run across to communicate. Now the term "War Driving" makes more sense
There were NO storms in the city to affect Madison Av
The firefighters had to bust a gate to get into the command center and saw smoke, there were no storms in the city
Will the media ever, ever stop lying?!
It sounds like sloppy installation work in the central office. The normal standard is to connect the equipment to a battery string that supplies -48 volts at continuous loads of nearly 5,000 amps. The strings are charged by a rectifier bank from commercial electric power. If the commercial power is lost, a gas turbine or diesel electric generator fires up automatically. Once the emergency generator stable, it takes over charging the batteries until the commercial power is restored. Most central offices keep 30 days of fuel in reserve and test the emergency generator every 30 days.
Can you tell I'm a former central office equipment engineer?
And you did :)
Question is whose psyops?
I'm going back to horses for transportation.
I'm not sure enough to say yet.
Isn't this the kind of thing that starts wars? ;)
I will remember your expertise, what caused the smoke in the command center when there was no fire?
My parents were/are flying through ORD today...from Ohio back here to SAN. They had said that ORD was at least 60-90 minutes behind for both take off/landings...(or that was what they had been told in Ohio)...said it sounded like a huge MESS there...they were anxious to get there and see what was really up or if they could find out more.
Both Sun Times and Tribune are reporting storms causing the outtage as well:
Storms knock 911 call center offline

Storms outside the city and President
Thanks, couldn't remember who each topic was too. On the next thread can we have a list at the top of the 'ping' people for the various things are are going to accumulate lists for? That'd be awesome for those of us (like me) who can't remember! Ha!
Hadn't thought about him being there impacting it...true! You back up on 911 yet?
The storms were pretty bad. It blew passed me about an hour ago, still raining as we speak, but those ominous clouds and strong winds have subsided.
I'd say, expect your parents to be late. ;-)
Any word on the driver. Who is he, what is he?
I thought JPII was vacationing close by just outside of Rome proper.

I didn't realize Al Qaeda had taken credit for the Electrical power blockouts in the northern portions of America and the southern areas of Canada and the electrical power blackouts in Great Britain last year.
But then I've been out of touch. Have they officially taken credit for Oklahoma City yet?
(And it's off topic, but if anyone hasn't seen this, you should turn on your speakers and take a look - it spoofs both Bush and Kerry. Go to:

Just sent an SMS to my dad...he said they then were told at least 4 hours late through ORD...so they tried rerouting through DEN. As they were trying that, they closed DEN airport as well...
They are now staying overnight again in Ohio and hoping to get out tomorrow through ORD...They just wish they had gotten stuck in Chicago to go eat all their foods they love there from when we had lived there! Ha!
Channel 5 will report on this confusion, not blaming storma at all...saying something over heated causing the smoke, causing the outage
Can anyone get a weather radar image for 3pm then I could see south of the loop at the time
