.................................................................
The Poetry Branch has been in limbo since the prior hostess left FreeRepublic April 15th 2003. We've since learned that said hostess has lost her posting privilege. That being the case, and Jim Robinson having given his ok, I wanted to renew the thread.
FreeRepublic is blessed with many fine poets, and we look forward to seeing their poems posted on FR once again. There were many non-poet FReepers who visited the Poetry Branch for the camaraderie; we hope they will return.
I would like to invite everyone to visit and relax at Poetry and Potpourri. Hopefully you will renew old acquaintances for chatting, sharing jokes, telling stories, posting cartoons, etc. Everyone needs a place to escape from the everyday news, make Poetry and Potpourri that place.

There once was a Gov named Gray DavisHe screwed up the state of the economyWe recalled his A$$, his Legacy trashedWe then Terminated Cruz BustamanteWith nary a foe we then shot off our toe
When we put in a serial grouper
What's worse the next year we found out fir sir
He was just one more liberal Doper
The moral to this story is clear
After all of this we are stuck with this LOUT
No ones taking the blame and we all look insane
We were much better off with GRAY-OUT
The End... *<]8^)

Clinton Ok.. are you from Clinton? I was married in Clinton Ok by a JP, with 2 fireman as witnesses. I was stopped for speeding by the Weatherford County Sheriff dept while eloping on our way to Las Vegas. I cut a deal with the JP to pay the fine and get hitched for a twofer price of $30 bucks.. he threw in the blood test and the firemen volunteered.. Absolutely THE WORSE DEAL I EVER MADE.. cost me millions to get out of that great deal ... Bwhahhahahhahhah

Looks like you should have just paid the speeding ticket and spent the night in jail. : )
"Clinton Ok.. are you from Clinton?"
Nahh. I was born and raised in Fresno. I found the recipe on the Internet and decided to share it.

I had a great-half-aunt who lived in Clinton, OK. I may have driven thru there about 10 years ago when I took my mother to Oklahoma City to visit a cousin.
I have never been to that restaurant, tho. If I ever get to Clinton again, I may try it.

I'll find another recipe to post later this afternoon.
Now that FR is back, I have errands to run. Why couldn't the troubles have waited until after I left?

Hi Amy.
I love your collection of 'welcome' graphics. Did our 'Finest' artist and designer extraordinaire make those?
I tried posting this earlier, but FR was having problems. Seems the problem has cleared up now.
