The Hobbit Hole IV – The Road Goes Ever On…

Posted on 08/04/2003 9:43:18 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

The Road Goes Ever On…

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Not yet. I'll let you know as soon as I do...

Thunderstorms coming, Steve'll likely be out all night collecting samples.

I think boycott-boy is one of 'em. Hasn't quite blown his cover yet.

Naw...I think I'll get the boys and put 'em in with me...Steve sleeps on the couch when he's on call because he's up talking on the radio and such.

There are only two times the boys can sleep in with me...thunderstorms and when they are sick.

You know, the red and green ones with the tassles...

Nah, this would be a Cub mom, they're probably blue and gold! Kind of wound tight, isn't she? I was a MUCH more relaxed Den mom. If the boy did the work himself, and learned while he did it, that was what was important!

I hope Matthew got his Whittling Chip Card in spite of this woman!

I don't know if you noticed one particular post I made on that *other* thread today. I said something to the effect that I think the guys in Tom's area in Baghdad would probably be more likely to listen to the opinions about the movie of a Hobbit Holer than of Viggo. And I really meant that.

I mean, Viggo can *say* whatever he wants. But, those guys are being supported by some real Americans who have opinions about the meanings of this movie. Who are those young people more likely to listen to - somebody sending them goodies and showing real support - or somebody who's an actor just talking? We're making our beliefs real to them. Viggo, is just rambling.

And these guys are gonna vote one of these days. I don't mind if a by-product of our support is some realization of American values.

That was no rant.

That was a stick of dynamite stuck in his suppository.

He seemed very stunted in his development.

"No thank you, this will do!"

Awww, she should have let him say it. Good Job, Matthew, dad, and MOM.

I could play that part!!! I've been on enough road trips to have been that dirty! :-)

Glad to see you tonight. I believe it is settled that the Alamo-Draft-moot will be on Saturday for sure! :-)

Got something more to look forward too!!

I forgot to tell you I got the lights! They came in last Thursday, but tonight was the first chance I had to open them. They are SO COOL! I knew they were small, but I didn't realize how small. They will be great on keychains or hanging on backpacks!

I received my copy of the TSRA [TX state rifle Assoc.] Sportsman today. On the cover is the picture of Major standing in fron of a Sadamm mural. Platered on Sadamm's lips is a TSRA bumper sticker like this one:

Clipped to the Major's uniform is one of the Photon Micro-lites.

But he was never worried and was cheerful about the whole thing...he said "Oh, don't worry...I'll get the red bead eventually!"

You beat yourself up WAY too much, 2J. He loves you; you know that, and waiting until the next meeting for the red bead wouldn't have been a problem for him, because he knew he WAS going to get it. YOU wanted it for him because you knew he had earned it. I feel the same way for Joseph when I know he's worked hard.
