BB King was just asked about political comments during the war and he said "I think that there are going to be alot of things said tonight that I don't agree with."

Way to go B.B!

Was reading a "Rolling Stone" magazine from about 1986 and they had a "where are they now" issue. One of the former stars was Arthur Brown. He had a successful business
doing home kitchens and cabinets. He said he would still set his hair on fire if a customer asked, but it would cost extra.

Yes. The Dixie Chicks rendition at the Super Bowl was tremendous -- best I have ever heard.

It was very appropriate that S&G opened. They really represent New York and it would have been great...IF ONLY THEY SANG WELL!

Plus, everyone loves a good reuniong. Remember, reportedly, these two had a very bad split and didn't speak for years.

You mean LIZA doesn't represent New York? For shame!

S&G weren't Dylan ripoffs...they couldn't be, because they could/can sing. :)

Seriously, Simon had a pretentious streak that Dylan certainly didn't have--sometimes it worked, sometimes not.

Someone on an MTV awards show had a flame spewing hat that almost ignited a woman's hair (a co-presenter). She didn't realize it at the time but MTV did later rebroadcast the clip and pointed it out.

He was great. Only Detroit could have given us a Marshall Mathers. I'm 40 and have no problem going into vibrate mode when I listen to his work.

Highlight of the night, as far as I'm concerned.

Wasn't that long of a break-up. They were back together for that concert in Central Park, what in the '80s?

I think S&G were trying to say they were silenced ... by CBS.

I think you're on to something there. "Bridge Over Trouble Waters" seems like it would have been a much more fitting for the Grammy's return to NYC for the first time since 911 (and with Bruce doing "The Rising"...)

I thought Dustin Hoffman basically said something like that, implying that the 60's were of course the only decade that matters...

Yes, as in it was a decade when people were socially conscious ... That puts me in mind of when Tom Hayden was running for mayor of L.a. a few years back and he actually said he wanted to return the city to the 60's. Blech!

It was pretty cool backstage, John Mayer was in the same category with James Taylor and they had just finished performing together when the announcement came that he won.

Mayer is a little too 'Dave Matthews' for me, but still easy on the ears and especially when with the ladies he is good

Norah wisely sought out songs written by professional songwriters, unlike the Vanessa and Michelle perhaps?

I see them whenever I can... and in fact, I'll be seeing them on March 5th, and I'm certain it will be mighty fine, just like it always is.

(I once asked Too Slim whether there was anything to the rumor that Two Jaw was once a nude model for Georgia O'Keefe. He looked at me and said, "Y'know, not many people would get that.")

I loved the 60's. I was ... er... young! And Jimi, Janis and Jim were alive. Of course, Tony Bennett would have got the Grammys tonight.
