BB King was just asked about political comments during the war and he said "I think that there are going to be alot of things said tonight that I don't agree with."
Way to go B.B!

Ummm... when took our turn.

Actually Jerry Lee Lewis had to open for Chuck Berry one time and so he set his piano on fire. He reportedly said, "Let him try to follow that!"

BeeGee's making me cry!

Great idea. N'stink blows.
I got here late to the thread. Has anyone addresses the fact yet that it looked like some of the earlier live preformances would have used stage fireworks if it wasn't for the Rhode Island fire?

Personally, I prefer most Mexicans who want to become Americans over Bay Area and Manhattan Democrats but maybe that's just my silly anti-white prejudice. And I like their music and culture, too.

I've always love his song "Pretty Woman". Just think, what kind of a country is this? There you are sitting in a workshop behind a small and not too fancy house in southern Oklahoma. In walks Roy Orbison. He was so natural, I thought he was just some dude coming to pick up a guitar. Only after he left, did the owner mention that he was the Roy Orbison, otherwise I'd never known.
BTW, I also met the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Carl Albert. I was sitting on the john when he walked in.

They have this beautiful old Catholic Church on Main Street in Boerne that was built by some of the original settlers by hand. The Priest wanted to tear down the old Church and put up a new modern church. Turned out the Church front towers were in the Historic District of Boerne and could not be touched.
It pretty much split the town. The Archdiocese got really nasty with the town and brought in the Pope. Didn't work -- it went all the way to the SCOTUS and Boerne's right to have it in the historic district was helpheld. They received donations from small towns across America to help fight the Catholic Church. I felt really sorry for some long time members of the Church who left Boerne and went to other Churches because they didn't think the Church should come down.
BTW -- the Church had 13 acres of land behind the church but the Priest from Ireland wanted to build a modernistic Church on Main Street. If you ever visit Boerne, you will see a lot of older structures made from these huge pieces limestone -- really beautiful historic town. The Church was one of those structures that you found beautiful and your church affiliation did not matter!

NYSNC singing the Bee Gee's in Barbershop Quartet. Why don't you ever hear of Beautyshop Quartets? Just wondern.

If Bruce is a peacenik, then all hope is lost. You'd think that singing "Born in the USA" would speak for itself. I love the music of the "old" Bruce, up through the Born in the USA album and maybe a few songs on the one or two after that. But he's lost it.
But I hate to tell you, Bruce has always been a lefty. On his Live album set, he sings "War (What is it Good For?)". The song Born in the USA, if you listen to the lyrics, is not exactly a patriotic song.
I was at a Springsteen concert a few years ago (around 1994/95, when the GOP won Congress), and he went into one of his raps and started talking about "those G-d d-mned Republicans". That was the last Bruce concert for me.

Got a point there.
