AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 746) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | February 5, 2003 | All of Us

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail! [President Bush]

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Today, Secretary Powell will brief the UN Security Council regarding American intelligence that will show Iraq is not complying with UN requirements, intelligence the Iraqis say is fabricated.

In hearings on Capitol Hill, lawmakers were told by Administration officials that North Korea might sell fissile material, possibly complete Bombs, to other entities to raise cash.

Hans Blix told Iraqi officials that, while a date certain for military action has not been set, it is "five minutes till midnight," and the Iraqis had better start turning up information on arms production.

Last November, Saudi Arabia quietly provided a passport and transport to remove a woman from the United States who was supposed to have testified to a grand jury about her husbands terrorist connections.

NASA was warned nine years ago the shuttle could catostrophically fail if debris hit the vital underside area of the craft - the very scenario that is the leading idea being investigated now. NASA made some changes to the fuel tank design, but has noted the foam always "has been a pain."

And in Los Angeles, a city council meeting, which was the last for three council members who were recalled, got out of control. An amateur video has footage of the mayor clocking one of the council members with her handbag, followed by a punch.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

She was so silly. I just loved the whole of P&P, no flaws as far as I can remember. :)

Not Tar-jay! That's too francais ...... not gonna support those weenies at all! I definitely did my shopping at Target! ...... LOL!

And, yes, it's been a tiny little respite for me. I postively hate shopping for clothes and groceries ...... but enjoy looking at decorator items and such. And I could spend my life prowling around office supply stores, hardware stores, and cloth shops ...... wouldn't buy much but would have a ball looking ....... *grins*

"What year did Joe Kennedy make his appeasement speech?"

Good question, and I was trying to remember that as I posted the above. The best I could remember from last night was 1939, but don't hold me to that. And google wasn't very good either, but I did find this

"In 1937, Kennedy began hinting to Roosevelt that he still "deserved a reward" for his role in the election. Roosevelt, who had become mistrustful of Kennedy, chose not to give him a cabinet post and instead appointed him ambassador to England. - Kennedy's ambassadorship coincided with the beginning of World War II in Europe; and throughout his three year tenure, Kennedy argued against American and British involvement in the war. Even as the Nazis rolled into France, Joe expressed his support for Hitler and maintained a position of appeasement toward Germany. - In May 1940, Winston Churchill was elected British Prime Minister. The rise of Churchill brought an end to appeasement, and hastened Joe's decline. When Kennedy publicly proclaimed that "Democracy is finished in England," Roosevelt called for his resignation."

I also searched several good "conservative" histories and biographies that I have, and although many discuss Pappa Joe Kennedy, none of them pin point this exact speech or the date.

Mansfield Park is my younger daughter's favorite of all of them. Actually, all of us like it a lot. It's more serious than the rest of them, but it is, IMO, absolutely excellent.

I highly recommend it!

You're so thoughtful, I thought maybe the documentary said what year it was. Thanks. The more you dig on the Kennedys, the more you realize how reprehensible the whole clan is. And yet the left and the media dumps all over the Bushes. Sigh.

You have Target in NC???

I worked in their buying offices back when there were only nine stores.......all of them in the Minneapolis area. About a hundred years ago.......or so it seems.

We didn't have them in the eastern part of the state when we lived there so only became familiar with Target when we moved here 9 years ago. I think they have them in eastern NC now ..... that part of the world is the last place to get anything.

How much SNOW do you have? Enough to get excited about?

..... We might have some wintery mix tomorrow ....... :-(

... "wintery mix" includes such lovely things as freezing rain and sleet ...... YUCK!

I like Target, too. I was so excited when we FINALLY got one here last year.

They are a much nicer store now than they were originally; better quality merchandise, etc.

We have one of the "Greatland" varieties here; with groceries, etc.
