Morning Nully.
Did your ex have a Phudd?
These can be very dangerous. Like Sociology Phudds claiming they are scientists that understand global warming.....and the eevils of capitalism.

Heheheh.... Nice humour for our time.

No, not my ex. But a former boss and rabid cliton supporter did. Quite a piece of work, he was. Two bibles in his office, and yet he had been caught multiple times downloading porn...

PHD's aren't always well balanced in their thinking Tell me about it. Dad was the only one of the Geology Grad students in his class to get a real job and not become an academic.

Yes, it is humorous, but also pretty sad. Gotta run. Go to Safeway and buy some eggs, sugar, almond extract. Making CHRISTMAS cookies.

My brother got a Phd in economics. He was in school until he was thirty.
His first job was in the Department of Agriculture. He came in a flaming liberal, found out I voted for Reagan and began his move away from being a Demo. Don't get him wound up about Government jobs. His stories aren't pretty.
He's moved way to the opposite side of life, an Ayn Rand afficianado and a serious militia candidate.

gotta go shopping.....and it's not even the 24th!
Happy baking.

He's moved way to the opposite side of life, an Ayn Rand afficianado and a serious militia candidate. Some of my '60s hippie friends became social workers, that old liberal need to force help on others. Within a year of getting jobs, all had become Republicans, and one joined the clan. Dealing with actual downtrodden caused them to reevaluate their positions.

Recipe for what's baking now:
CRANBERRY ALMOND BISCOTTI
2 ¼ Cups flour
1 Cup sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. Baking soda
1 tsp. Cinnamon
½ tsp nutmeg
2 eggs
2 egg whites
1 Tablespoon almond extract or vanilla
¼ cup sliced almonds
1 6-ounce package of CraisinsÔ Sweetened Dried Cranberries
Preheat oven to 325°
Combine dry ingredients in a medium mixing bowl. Whisk together eggs, egg whites and almond or vanilla extract in a separate mixing bowl. Add to dry ingredients, mixing until just moist, using an electric mixer. Add dried cranberries and almonds, mix thoroughly.
On a floured surface, divide batter in half and pat each half into a log approximately 14 long by 1 ½ wide. Place on a cookie sheet and bake for 30 minutes until firm.
Cool on a wire rack. Reduce oven to 300°. Cut biscotti into ½ slices. Stand upright on cookie sheet and bake for an additional 20 minutes. Let cool and store in a loosely covered container. Makes 2 ½ dozen.
