Good morning ALL you wonderful people.

Police in Turkey question an Arab-Israeli who tried to hijack an El Al flight from Tel Aviv to Istanbul.

U.N. inspectors took off for Iraq on Monday to resume.

Storms with a mix of snow and freezing rain has left thousands of people throughout the New England without power.

Certification of senator-elect Jim Talent is this week with swearing , hopefully, soon to follow.

Dems are at it again and will continue to try to block another Bush nominee, appeals court nominee of U.S. District Judge Dennis Shedd.

The former president Carter returns to the White House as a Nobel Peace Prize laureate and guest of President Bush. I hope he brings his manners with him

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail! [President Bush]

If that pencil-necked, tea-sipping, turn-coat (he went to Canada to escape Vietnam, I found out) of a boss had any idea how NOT willing I am to read his cr*p today he wouldn't have dared to send it.

The only thing that keeps me from expressing my violent response to his non-violent views is that I realize just how small a man he is. He can't face people and discuss issues so he has to spam someone else's e-mail to everyone else and then take cover in his office. He can't talk to people about ways to improve our work atmosphere. If anyone makes a mistake, everyone gets e-mailed with a "reminder" about policy.

I'm still sore about him e-mailing everyone that no one can cook fish in the microwave unless no one will be in the building for the next two hours all because I reheated 3 small salmon loafs.

What a loser!

The poor have been a minority for some time

You define the poor in bibical terms. That has nothing to do with politics or Democrats.

The Democrats have defined poor to include the 30 dollar an hour construction worker. The Democrat poor includes the truck driver that makes $80,000 a year. The poor includes the LA doc worker that makes over 100 grand a year. A Democrat poor can work at GM for $70,000 a year and retire at $35,000 a year at age 62. We are talking Democrat poor.

Democrat poor has nothing to do with money. Democrat poor has to do with dependency. The Democrat poor has to do with one's self image and feelings of helplessness. A Democrat poor person sees himself as powerless in a world filled with EVIL Republicans. A Democrat poor needs others to look out for him. He needs Bill Clinton to protect his Union Steward and keep the big corporations in line. And he needs the union steward to keep the powerful from taking advantage of him. He needs a Bill Clinton to keep the rich from taking away his health care and his social security. He needs his steward so he does not have to do anything that is not in his contract. He is poor becuase he has no power. He believes in the rightous Democrats who fight for him and try their best to get him his fair share. The Democrat poor is a person who is afraid the EVIL Republicans will take all he has if the Democrats are not their to protect him.

That is the democrat poor. And the number of people that now believe that are NOW a minority.

Democrats never did pray for their party members. They PREY for their party members.

I'll give you something to add to your prayer list since you're probably flat on your back with flu and don't feel like doing much else.

Since we came back from Singapore in July I've been borrowing my parents' car for my commute. We've come close to buying a car a few times, but haven't yet. Now it looks like I may get a small pickup from my niece's b-i-l. He got his second DUI recently and won't be eligible for a license so needs to get rid of his pickup and we're in the market for one. So please pray for a good price and everything for us, will ya?

"The Democrats have defined poor to include the 30 dollar an hour construction worker."

Speaking of which, a friend of mine had a firm bid on leaf removal last week. It was based on $35/ man hour!!!! Good grief, how ridiculous for unskilled labor.......

Hi All

john, the Indians use a silver foil on some of their dishes, so if you know a family, see if the "cook" uses it. It's very effective.

I've seen that. The french traditionally use it on some desserts also. I'm still working on the overall design. I think I've got a beginning that isn't too busy.

Heck, you guys were AF. What do you think?

I'm looking at a round cake with Congrats (top) - Lt. Col. XXXXXXX (bottom) in AF dark blue. A large silver oak leaf in the center. Directly under the oak leaf is the unit designation. Background in AF light blue, lettering in AF dark blue. Function badge (in silver) on the left side of the oak leaf. Wing patch on the right of the oak leaf in normal patch colors.

Maybe smaller oak leaves on the side of the cake in silver (if I master it).

/john

Democrat poor has nothing to do with money. Democrat poor has to do with dependency. The Democrat poor has to do with one's self image and feelings of helplessness. A Democrat poor person sees himself as powerless in a world filled with EVIL Republicans.
Right you are. Historian Richard Hofstadter wrote of Walter Weyl's 1914 "income gap" statement,
Weyl realized... that so far as a great part of the dissenting public was concerned, the central grievance against the American plutocracy was not that it despoiled them economically but that it overshadowed them.... he found that "an increasing bitterness is felt by a majority which is no worse but better off than before."
I wonder if my reaction to the word "poor" doesn't mean that the Democrats still have this one on us. Of course no American would say that a $100,000-a-year dockworker is "poor." But ask the next question, "Which party best protects the $100,000-a-year dockworker?" and we get the answer.

When do $100,000-a-year dockworkers, $30,000-a-year truckers, etc. vote Republican? Is it when their 401(K) takes a dive? Hell, the 401(K) plan is itself an instrument of dependency, a state grant. I suspect this issue is more entrenched than stock ownership.

Nevertheless, essential poverty is the operative word of the Democratic party. We've beat them on that. On the rest, I hope you're right that the "dependants" are now a minority.

You are, as ever, dead on.
