We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail! [President Bush]
Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
ELECTION DAY!! DO NOT FORGET TO VOTE!!
In 2000, it was decided that Democrats should vote on Wednesday. Not enought took advantage of that offer, so this year, to cut down on lines in polling places, something new will be tried.
Through special arrangement with certain folks in Canada - who, because of the extent of their magnanimity wish to remain nameless - it is now possible to dedicate special polling places just for the use of Democrats.
Democrats, think of this as your own special voting district. Republicans are to vote in the United States - no Republicans whatsover will be allowed to vote in Canada today.
On the other hand, Democrats should take the opportunity to drive north of the border and vote there. No lines - gone will be the complaints of having to wait to vote. No polling monitors - you can vote as many times as you want. You will be able to come home refreshed with the knowledge that you were able to cast thousands, even tens of thousands of votes for your candidate - and no one will so much as hassle you.
So don't delay. The north beckons. If you are a Democrat, hop in your car, drive north, cross the border, and vote. In fact, so good is this program, there are Republicans who will be more than glad - once they have cast their vote in America, because this special offer is not open to them - to drive you and other voting age (in other words, anyone who can recognize a crayon) members of your family (you will have to make your own arrangements to transport dead people) into Canada to your special polling places. (This offer, however, is only one way - you will have to make your own arrangements to return to America).
Democrats - Canada. That's where your vote should be.
[Good only on November 5, 2002. Not good with any other offer, and may not be exercised by Republicans. Offer applies to any definition of family that may be provided by a card carrying Democrat. For further details, see the back of your Rice Krispies box - they might be there. Certain other restrictions apply. No actual guarantee of voting ability is made or warranted. No ballots will be cast on behalf of the Democrat voter by the Republican. If, in fact, you are a Democrat, and you could not actually vote in Canada, complaints will be taken on November 4, 2002. No Canadians were harmed during the preparation of this offer.]
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
Yes, he is my youngest. He is 24. He's switched schools once, switched majors 3 times. Finally he settled into Agronomy. He will finish in the spring. He is coming home to farm with us, and at the momment, the plan is he will settle in and gradually assume management of the cropping side of our operation.
Our family has defied all the odds. 3 sons. All three coming home to farm. They are the 7th generation of my family to farm in this County.
Well, he might be 1/4 right (not even half right, but not totally wrong).
First off, yes I had heard about it. Thought it was abjectly humorous, and that's where my analysis starts.
First, we've made much hay about having different times for demoflops to vote, and different locations, etc. Some enterprising pubbie probably made the flyers - it wouldn't surprise me. But it was NOT an organized effort on the part of any Republican institution. There is NO way they would be that stupid in such a heavily democratic state.
But that segues into the second point. This is the reaction of a party that is scared to death of losing. I am absolutely convinced these sorts of posters existed in 2000, 1998, and earlier. It's just the demoflops had ZERO concern about losing, so they didn't pay it much mind. This year, it is very different. Common Tator's analysis is poignant on this regard - Townsend was campaigning where? In PG and in Baltimore - her base areas. They are not secure, and there is the very real possibility she will lose the race. The only hope for the demoflop is turnout - so this is the year they focus on the posters.
Which then goes to a third point. The demoflops consistently show they have no sense of humor. Anyone with half a brain both KNOWS that today is Election Day - for crying out loud, the media have talked about nothing else for weeks, and that's the ONLY thing they are spending any real time on today. In fact, unless you have been in a cave your whole life, everyone knows the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November is Election Day.
Which brings me to my fourth point - the demoflops have a really low opinion of the intelligence factor of their constituency if they think they will fall for such a notion. REALLY LOW! Lower than any small number you might conceive of in your wildest imagination! It speaks volumes about what that party REALLY thinks of the folks they expect to vote for them today.
And, finally, if those are, indeed, the folks whom the demoflops want to vote, consider how ill informed they really must be, and yet the demoflops are out there PROUDLY ANNOUNCING TO THE WORLD that their constituency consists of blithering idiots who wouldn't be able to get out of bed if it were not for the built in gravity assist feature which occurs when you roll over.
Yet (!!) the demoflops have the unmitigated gall and temerity, in spite of this bold pronouncement, to then turn around and insist their people voted properly and that any election screw ups were because of other, non-voter factors.
It is beyond amazing that anyone can actually buy their crap.
Sadly one near us has just been sold to the developers....the owner is up in years and his son doesn't farm. It will be a subdivision by next year.
Congratulations on continuing a proud tradition!
I voted all Republican, but not a straight ticket. I enjoy filling in each and every circle for the Republicans. Hey, they all worked hard to earn my vote, the least I can do is give each and every one of them an individual vote!
I've done what I can for John Sununu and giving our President the friendly Senate he needs. Now it is up to everyone else!
VOTE AS IF YOUR FUTURE DEPENDS ON IT...BECAUSE IT DOES!
Thanks!
