We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail! [President Bush]
Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our Freedom, die in vain!!
Yesterday, a 7.9 magnitude quake struck Alaska, south of Fairbanks. The quake was felt as far away as New Orleans. Only one injury has been reported. The Alaska Pipeline is intact, but shut down this morning. Some support structures are broken about 50 miles south of Delta. Damage exists on the Alaska Highway. There is also some damage to the Parks Highway, as shown in the following photo:
Zogby has Jeb Bush with a 15-point lead going into the last day before the election.
Mondale still leads Coleman, but only by 5 percentage points.
Carnahan and Talent are tied in the Zogby poll, both at 46%.
The New York Times is conceding the Republicans will likely make gains in the House.
And authorities are investigating whether a shooting in Clinton, Maryland, was related to the sniper. While previously not believing that to be the case as it didn't fit the MO - the victim was shot several times at close range, but still managed to survive, authorities are taking another look because a laptop computer owned by the victim was among the items recovered from the sniper's car.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
So what's your routine tomorrow?
I'll leave here about 9 to vote, then have breakfast out with a friend.
Get back here and check on a few people to see if they've voted or need rides to the polls.
Sabato...said a trend is going to the Repubs.
Exception: N.C.:(
The thing to do is stay busy ALL day!
I don't think I've said anything yet about a lottery referendum on our ballot tomorrow. The media here has consistently portrayed the opposition as being primarily churches and religious organizations. Although most churches do oppose it for their own reasons, that is far from an accurate portrayal of the oppostion.
Early polls showed 74% in favor. Then it was down to 64%. Last week the polls showed 53% in favor. Since all non-votes on this issue count as a "no" vote, I am feeling pretty good that the referendum can be defeated. The more people learn, the more the support slips. Plus, there is a very effective "no" ad running on the radio and I think this once "sure thing" is going down in flames.
Halloween party in Madison draws 65,000. Police arrest 6.
Let me guess? They started out to protest peacefully!
Go Pack.
It should be a good game tonight. I predict Pack wins by 10.
Got a note from #1 Son in Denver....he's "obsessing" over the possibility that Strickland (D) may win tomorrow.
We all must have some gene or predisposition for this election madness....
I may practice tomorrow evening, we're doing Christmas carols at our Enrichment night on Nov 14. The chorister wants to sing "Over the River and through the woods" in a nod to Thanksgiving, I'm going to try to find the music tonight.
I just don't what to think about the NC Senate race. I find the thought of Bowles joining Edwards as my Senator absolutely sickening ..... :-(
I am getting about 3 e-mails a day from the NC GOP and have gotten lots of phone calls in the last couple of weeks ...... some recordings, some real people. I got a "live" call a little while ago from a person urging me to vote a straight GOP ticket. I told her not to worry ..... I'm a broken glass Republican. She was unfamiliar with the phrase and got a kick out of the explanation.
I've already told hubby that if I should have an attack of appendicitis or anything else tomorrow, he is to take me by the polls before heading on to the hospital.
Well, just got another phone call ...... a recording this time. I'm loving this but I do wonder if they're not turning some people off by calling repeatedly.
Rush said today that the day before the 1994 elections he closed his show with something like, "We meet at 6 AM at the polls." He urged people to go early tomorrow. I think it's very smart to go early, go determined, be sharp and aware of anything that might happen.
Utah Girl, I do think a person who chooses not to vote may exercize that option, however hard it is for us to understand, and quite possibly this person if pushed to vote, would be ill-informed or influenced by the leftist media.
Praying that it doesn't come to that! LOL!
I need a little, pre-bedtime nap....it was THAT kind of a day....so will try to get back in awhile...
