What's wrong here? MK WOKE Ed at 3:58 a.m. The parents' bedroom IS downstairs (where a burglar would find material goods of worth to pawn, if that were his intention to begin with).
Nobody asks MK, what man? How do you know? Any number of questions could have been asked in a matter of a few seconds.
Ed admits that both he & Elizabeth are sound sleepers.
I'm a sound sleeper, & it usually takes a while for conversation to register, the length depending on the gravity of the message. So, Ed may have immediately woken & jumped out of bed. But there's only 3 minutes till 4:01 a.m. & dialing 911, & that's a lot happening in such a short time.
Don't you think that would have been uncovered by now?

There is absolutely nothing in the public record to substantiate this. All accounts from all parties involved including an independent arbiter (Jeanne Boylan) say just the opposite. I've asked it before and I'll ask it here again. Do you think that a 9 year old girl could fool the SLPD/FBI for almost 4 months? If so, what would be her motive?
From 3:58 a.m., according to the 9/29 SLC Tribune article, to 4:01 a.m., when the 911 call was allegedly made, Ed frantically searched his super-large 2-story home for Elizabeth. He fought a rising panic as Lois got "pretty worked up."
Lois spotted the cut kitchen window screen, screamed at her husband to call 911 (which is not the scenario their son recalled - she let out a blood-curdling scream like he had never heard before - no mention of her telling Ed to call 911. At this point, I have to say, was HER arm broke?, which is a little joke in my home).
By the time the police arrived some 12 to 17 minutes later (depending on what source one is reading), Ed & Lois had called "...almost the entire ward," as well as alerted some neighbors.
Dinse said of the initial police response & screw-up, "But remember, these officers were trying to determine what sort of case they had."
Does that sound like a man with a gun had kidnapped Elizabeth?

Why should they when a paragon of journalism like the NE is on the job. I've been patiently waiting to them to do a follow up on their Smart sex expose. I'm sure they've interviewed all of the male escorts in town and are really going to blow the lid on this thing. Or maybe NOT.

Back to the Tribune article, this woman Suann Adams said, "It's not like Ed went out and called a bunch of high school kids, these are responsible adults, who aren't going to put their handprints all over everything."
A frenzied father is running through the house, thinking about handprints? He exited the house from one door or another, & stopped to think that there might be fingerprints on the doorknob?
The case stinks and you know it!
It could be an embarrassing revelation or it could be case related if it is true....it certainly would open someone up to blackmail or at least allow certain things to go on that normally one wouldn't allow....for instance, having an excon who is often late and not trustworthy work at your house, and be around your children.....
You have a point. Not likely such a story would see the light of day in SLC. Look what happened to the NE.
