It's a shame that tomatoes don't travel well. If they did I'd be more than happy to take some off your hands. We can't grow anything, everything we've tried becomes deer food. ;-(
To: Kathleen
Actually.. my son and DIL gave me a pizza oven a few years ago and I've never used it..(yikes) so I figured I'd give it a whirl... Especially since I saw this fresh tomato pizza in one of my cookbooks..
If it suks..I'll put it back in the closet.. lol

We have lots of deer too, but they stay down back by the woods.. Only the rabbits come up here. I think Al got all the woodchucks and moved them to other parts of town.. Haven't seen one all summer.. Someone else has a whole family now.. lol Let them deal with it.. ;)

Ummm.. not very long. The Lurkerdom I mean.
Hmmmm... It's genetic then!
*Cue sounds of anguish and terror*
On a sidenote: Our local County workers are more efficient than ever at making a mess! They're replacing a bridge here in town. Well, the local power company is Orange and Rockland Utilities hereafter known as Spike and Bite. Well, Spike and Bite had a fit about a crane being used to build the bridge. Seems they thought it was in the way of their precious power lines that they meticulously put up.. in the way of the crane. So, lo and behold, when a transformer on a pole blew the heck up in a brilliant blue flash, they blamed it on that crane's proximity to the lines.
So for two weeks, work on the bridge stopped. And the fire company here needs that bridge ASAP so that they can cover their area. But Spike and Bite doesn't care about petty little things like safety and human life. They care more about money and environmental things. (They won't string lines to someone unless it won't hurt any woodland critters. Seems NY is going the way of Kalifornia..)
Making it short as possible, the crews finally got to start working on the bridge.. provided that Spike and Bite can come and 'inspect' the progress and position of equipment near the lines. (Spike and Bite likes to send voltage spikes down the lines, or brown out areas at a moments whim.)

OMG.. isn't that disgusting? It's the same everywhere.. I know people up here in NH that just wanted to widen their dirt road down to their house.. Unfortunateltly it passed over a little stream.. They couldn't do it.. it might divert or disturb the stream.. Of course it wouldn't have been much wider than it was, but tough luck.
They are really getting out of control. You see the map that Loddy posted the other day and you realize just how much of the country they are buying up too. "They" want to control every little thing, and the humans come in dead last..

Good afternoon all..another beautiful day here in the Pacific Northwest...sunny, warm, blue skies, mountains on display...
Well, I am in my clumsy mood again...was moving some concrete blocks early yesterday, and one slipped and smacked me on my foot...the stream of obscenities coming forth from my mouth, surely was horrible, but colorful...that will teach me to wear canvas shoes, while moving concrete...so took myself off to the docs, who X-Rayed my tootsie, , and now I have two broken toes...what a klutz I am ...anyway on pain pills, which just knock me unconscious for hours....nothing can be done about the broken toes, other than letting them heal on their own...
I have been through this before...I have dropped a vacuum cleaner on my foot, and broke a toe, have dropped other heavy items, and broken other toes, so I guess I am just a real hazard to me around...this must be about my 5th time having broken a toe or two...
Now, my tootsies are swollen and trying to wear any shoe is impossible...just have to wait it out, while things heal...
BigDom has been eating dinner out...its all I can do to get him his morning yogurt, oj, and coffee, and pack up his lunch....there is no way, I can stand at a stove and cook...so BigDom is just eating out, at some of his favorite little haunts....
Hes just scratching his head, and rolling his eyes, wondering how he ever married such a clumsy dame...no sympathy at all from him, just a silly smirk...
Sometimes I think his lack of sympathy in this minor accidents of mine, go back to when I laughed at him, when he began having trouble with his prostate...tho at the time, I did not realize it...
He had been out with one of his mechanic buddies, early on one New Years Eve, several years ago....they had been making the rounds together, and they had arrived here by cab, both of them quite loaded from their celebrating the incoming year...
We were all sitting around talking, and BigDom started acting funny, saying he had to take a whiz...when he came back, after being gone for some lengthy time, he said he could not pee, and he felt sick...he just looked so pathetic, and saying he could not pee, just sounded so funny, that I burst out laughing...he did not take kindly to that...I told him to just lie down and relax, and perhaps it would eventually resolve itself...his friend and I were in the front room talking, and then BigDom, came back out, tried to pee again, and failed, and demanded I take him to the hospital...
Now I began to get worried...I took his friend home, and took Dom to the emergency room...well, they put a catheter in him(ouch), and drained off 1400ccs of urine...
Now, being that I worked in nursing homes, I realized what a tremendous amt this was...they left the catheter in,(thank goodness I knew how to deal with it), and told him to see a urologist...they said it must have really hurt to be that full(poor Dom, I laughed at him)....what a way to spend ringing in the New Year, in the emergency room...
In the end, he had to have surgery as he had a problem with his prostate, and needed surgery....as he had BHP, not life threatening but needing surgery...I had dealt with many old men in the nursing home with this, but they already had their catheters in place, and I did not realize what would lead up to that...
And so, whenever I have a little minor thing, I truly believe BigDom, just jabs me a little, remembering all too well, how I laughed at him, when he was obviously in such pain....hes not being vindictive, just needling me a little...
Ah, well, alls well that ends well...these tootsies will heal, and my foot will be recovered...but they are throbbing, so need to keep taking these pain pills, which just knock me out...
Anyway, glad to see that you all are fine and well, and have hardly missed me at all(boo-hoo)
Love everyones pics...
Gran, your pizza looks divine...
To: Kathleen
Kathy, they were absolutely delicious.. That little pizza oven is wonderful. Cooks them at a real high heat.. The stone gets really hot.. I will post a pic of the oven.. I will have to get one for Fl.. What a great way to cook them.. Great for company..
I just wish I knew how to handle the dough.. I am not too good on getting it stretched out..lol. Will have to ask my DIL for directions or lessons.. ;)
To: grannie9
What brand is your pizza oven? This might be worth checking out.
I find that pressing the dough out with my fingers yields better results than trying to toss it up in the air. ;-)
To: andysandmikesmom
Ouchie. Of course we missed you yesterday. We thought you were out enjoying the gorgeous weather and forgot about us. :-(
Hope you feel better soon.
To: andysandmikesmom; yall
Good grief Mom - best wishes up for prompt healing - that hurts just hearing about it! Yikes.
I'm enjoying Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter kicking dem ass on hannity.com - what a treat to freep and listen to them cut tiny tommie's predecessor in the senate.

I assume they still have these out there.. You can make bagles and all kinds of stuff in it..
To: grannie9
Thanks Gran. I'm definitely going to check this out. The last pizza baker I saw in a catalog was ridiculously expensive, this looks more reasonable. ;-)

Annie is on fire today. She has a mind like a steel trap and she doesn't pull her punches. The girl rocks.
