Survivor V: Thailand
Your Ad Here

Posted on 08/26/2002 4:36:57 PM PDT by YourAdHere

Survivor V kicks off on Thursday September 19th, and since a lot of us Freepers had fun speculating on Marquesas, I thought it would be fun to start a thread on the upcoming series.

The bios are out, which you can check out here, and there's already been scandal associated with two of the castaways.

First there's Brian, an actor/used car salesman, who neglected to tell the show that he had a few "blue" movies in his past. They cast a porn star!

Then there's Tonya. Her story could have a lasting impact on the outcome of the show. Shortly before filming came to an end, Tonya's father back in Tennessee was tragically killed in a car accident. Reports are that she was immediately evacuated from the island.

If Tonya was one of the first 7 people ejected from the show, then her departure would have no impact on the outcome. However, if she made it past the merger and either onto the jury or in the final two, then that could mean one less vote in the final two, or something even stranger. Only time will tell.

Sorry to hear about your travails, cuz. I'm pretty lame on the HTML stuff, but I could try to ping the thread at least.

Anyone else a stronger HTML'er?

Talk about bad news!

I feel like my number 1 starter just went on the 30-day DL.

We'll miss you. Hurry back!

I'll do it. I can handle HTML, and I can try to do a wrap-up and maybe a preview. It's not like I have much else better to do...

Cuz, it just won't be the same without you. Hurry back!
I'll check in for sure before and after the show, just can't watch and be on the computer at the same time. Same room, facing different ways. Bummer!
I suspect Chewy Gum will lose again, please let them get rid of Ghiardia, she is trouble.
Talk to you all in a few days.

Here's a PS.
With all the Democratic breakdown/meltdown, they should have a Politician's Survivor.
Wouldn't you love to see Dasshole, Gephardt, Torricelli, Harkin, and AllGore on the same tribe??? Throw in Hillary and Janet ElReno. You have to have a few chicks. Ok, better add Barbara Mikulski, she can be the little tribe mama.
What we're seeing on tv these last few days has been mighty entertaining.

Looks like I've volunteered for the job, cuz. I'll try to fill your shoes 'til you get back. (yeah, right). I'm not used to doing original material, but I'll try to entertain the troops in your absence. This ain't exactly reading smutty books for the blind and disabled (which is my other volunteer work), but I think I can handle it.

reading smutty books for the blind and disabled

Okay, not smutty books per se, but trashy novels-- "historical romances" is the euphemism they're referred to in polite company.

Good thing we are not polite company.

Isn't it time for a "mental" immunity challenge? If so, maybe Chewy Gum can win one.

THE PLAYERS
Brian, Clay, Erin, Ghandia, Helen, Jake, Jan, Jed, Ken, Penny, Robb, Shii Ann, Stephanie, Ted

THE LOSERS

John, Tanya

(Well, folks, looks like I'll be subbing for cuz 'til his 'puter gets better; I'm new at this, so please be gentle. ;-))

Well, it looks like Tanya is out of the game. As we all know, Tanya had to leave the island due to her father's death before the game was complete, at least now we know the game wasn't affected by her departure. Nobody wanted to see her go, especially since she was the youngest member of Chewy-Gum, who needs all the youth they can get.

It looks like Helen's bitchiness is finally catching up with her--she now has two votes against her. Can she learn to loosen up and be personable? Can she learn to act life-like--- ie. smile and cry? We'll find out on the next episode of....

DAYS OF OUR ISLAND

When we last left our little tribes, Strife was the Order of the Day at Sook-Jai. Jed and Stephanie had inexplicably separated themselves from the others who were---okay, they were obsessed with Building the Shelter--but still, Shelter-Building is preferable to spending the day painting a target on your back that says "Vote me out next!" Stephanie is now also the tribe's designated Sick Girl, which gives Jed a little breathing (sulking?) room, but not much.

Meanwhile, over at Chewy-Gum, It looks like the Bluebird of Happiness has finally flown the coop. Morale is low. Tensions are high. Idiots abound. Useless old ladies with Buffy hairdos keep not getting voted out. And it looks as if Ghandia is having Ted Issues. After yet another loss to Sook-Jai, Ghandia is seen sprawling along the cave floor with her hand resting on Ted's thigh--only inches from his ya-know. And we all know what that means, folks.

Swampfox was hoping for a "mental" challenge that Chewy-Gum could handle in this installment, but it doesn't look like that's gonna happen...at least not for the Reward Challenge...

"Amid the chaos, the tribes compete at a reward challenge to win the help of two Red Berets - the equivalent of America's Green Berets - who will then be assigned to spend a day showing the winning tribe how to make the most of all available resources at their camp. Once the challenge begins, tempers flare once again, this time prompting a fierce physical and mental battle between the competing tribes."--Zap2it Oct 1, 2002

Well, Looks like Ghandia and Ted Will face off. Did something sexual happen? Who did what, or did anyone do anything at all? Did Ted "get the wrong impression" (yeah, right) from the hand-on-thigh thing? Or did Ted turn Ghandia down? Is Ghandia setting Ted up, or is Ted a liar? Will the tribe (especially the women) believe him? We'll find out, on the next episode of... wait, I already did that part. Nevermind!

Is that ok? It starts tonight!

As a matter of fact, I'm watching that tonight! I caught the end of the last one; I want to see it all the way through this time. Have you heard of the one on the History Channel--I think it's called "Ship" or "Boat" or something... a group of people have to sail a 18th or 19th century ship. Seems like it'll be pretty interesting...
