Survivor V: Thailand
Your Ad Here

Posted on 08/26/2002 4:36:57 PM PDT by YourAdHere

Survivor V kicks off on Thursday September 19th, and since a lot of us Freepers had fun speculating on Marquesas, I thought it would be fun to start a thread on the upcoming series.

The bios are out, which you can check out here, and there's already been scandal associated with two of the castaways.

First there's Brian, an actor/used car salesman, who neglected to tell the show that he had a few "blue" movies in his past. They cast a porn star!

Then there's Tonya. Her story could have a lasting impact on the outcome of the show. Shortly before filming came to an end, Tonya's father back in Tennessee was tragically killed in a car accident. Reports are that she was immediately evacuated from the island.

If Tonya was one of the first 7 people ejected from the show, then her departure would have no impact on the outcome. However, if she made it past the merger and either onto the jury or in the final two, then that could mean one less vote in the final two, or something even stranger. Only time will tell.

AHHHHHHHH!!!!!
It’s good to have Survivor back! So let’s get started shall we!
Here are a few random thoughts to get the discussions going:

At last weeks Tribal Council, Helen voted for Clay stating that it was a “financial move” and implying that he didn’t need the money as much as the rest of them. That comment, in and of itself, convinced me that Helen should be preemptively booted from the island and branded as “too stupid” to continue in the game. There, I said it and I’m not gonna take it back.

What is Chewing Gum gonna do without John? (After all, he was the only person in the tribe who could read a map!) And just to prove my point, the SeeBS website says that during episode two: “Helen and Jan go in search of their water source, but find themselves completely off course without their map, and heading right into a nest of snakes.” Just between you and me, even if they had their map, it wouldn’t do them a bit of good cuz they both proved in episode one that neither one of them could read the darn thing!

I’ve started a pool to determine which one of the Suck-Ie tribe is gonna get fed up and give Robb the smack-down he so justly deserves. At this point, I’ve have it a toss-up between Shii Ann and Jed! (With the slight edge going to Shii Ann, just cuz Jed seems to have a slower fuse.) Any takers?

OK, OK I can see I’ve kept ya waiting long enough. Here are:
CUZ’s WEEKLY WEAKLY SURVIVOR PICKS!

The following VIDCAP show the Palanquin race challenge. Palanquin (also spelled Palaquin)- An enclosed litter formerly used in the East by high-ranking officials and by women and usually carried by four or six men.

In this case one tribe member is the passenger and six are the carriers. The switch is that the carriers are blindfolded and must be directed by the passenger who must also collect “bean bags” along the route. The route appears to be circular with one team going clockwise and the other counter-clockwise. So, you just know at some point the two teams are gonna cross paths! Should be fun to watch! General consensus on the other discussion websites has this as the Reward Challenge. (No hint on just what the reward is though.)
Since Suck-Ie has such a bad sense of direction, (remember they can’t tell the bow from the stern on their boat!) and since they clearly have no idea what teamwork is…
Cuz predicts the winner of the Palanquin Race will be – Chewy-Gum! (but it will be close.)

What the Immunity challenge will be is tougher to call. It appears to have something to do with “floating Lotus Blossoms” as pictured in this vidcap:

Other than that, there’s not much to go on, so…….

Cuz predicts that if Chewy-Gum loses the Immunity Challenge it’s bub-bye Ghandia.
If Suck-Ie loses, then Shii Ann is gone!

Well, that’s it for now. I’ll be back tomorrow morning to continue the discussion.

Enjoy,

Why is it that no matter how many times you proof a piece you STILL find something wrong AFTER you hit the post button!?!?!

YourAdHere predicts:

If Sook Jai, then JAKE.
If Chuay Gahn, then JAN.

This season's Sick Girl is Tanya. Usually Sick Girl is the one voted off before Pushy Jerk, but not this time (unfortunately, because sweet as Tanya is, the sooner she's gone the better, cuz of the situation with her father). I don't recall the first episode of previous seasons being more than an hour, but I could be wrong.

I'm here, and my early pick to win it all is Helen, the swim instructor. Snorer? sounds like home to me

Well, I'm here, but I had to redo my links. I haven't been able to get on FR all this week from home. Finally figured out tonight ("must get online it's survivor time!") that it was my problem, not FR's!

golfclub as luxury item sounds pretty sensible. Recreation is good.

oops, that surprised me, but still, she didn't chew the old gal out for not helping more with the water. She just sucked it up and took care of business.

Yes, and a golf club is a handy weapon!

Against nasty tribemates and other snakes.

Jed seems like a ditz. Steph the same.

Did you read all the interview stuff about the minister getting kicked off? Talk about not having a clue! "Obviously there were alliances" -- let's not even think about the dumb remarks he made! Amazing how many clueless people there are in the world.

My early fav is Clay.

Ah, poor Helen! Can't be with hubby on her 20th anniversary. That's so sad that the Survivor producers shangheid her without her permission and made her be on that island!
