Good afternoon all...looks like most are out and doing other things right now....oh well, I was busy all morning, went to the store, washing, dryng and folding clothes, playing with Dizzy, cooking BigDom his breakfast, and writing out money orders for some of my ebay orders....
But now, Bigdom is moving all his gear out of the house, and is headed up to Tacoma, for his barbque, and old time car rally at the Amvets....he looks forward to this once a year shindig....that ends at 5pm...
Then he is out to a biker bar for some fun, and on to other places which look as tho they might be some fun...then tomorrow, he will spend time, recuperating from today in his motel room...he will probably just watch some sports and relax....and then return on Monday afternoon, just in time to go back to work...
Working as he does, 11 hrs a day, at the trusty post office, I am glad when he has a weekend of fun planned...it helps him relax and rest up before returning to the grind...
Westy, loved the pics of Montezumas castle...that is one place I have been in Arizona...its really impressive to see that in person...
AC....quite enjoyed the link to the story of the stuffed asnimals, and of course, enjoyed the pic of the stuffed baby basset hounds, which you posted from the story....
Loddy and Grannie...the two of you are in rare form, providing us with some good laughs...
Habs...I am not sure if doing a 'raindance' with chairs will work, but who knows, perhaps we will give it a try...
Palo...come quick and look at ACs pic of the furry, stuffed baby basset hounds...show them to Lulu...And what is that Lulu up to right now?...

No, I dont remember being there...mostly, when we used to go through Arizona on our way to California, we would always stop off at the Grand Canyon for a few days....but one trip we did to go see Montezumas Castle...dont remember if we went to this Montezumas Wells or not...
We also went to the Petrified Forest, and I think the Painted Desert(I think those are also in Arizona)...
Arizona is really a beautiful state, with much to see....
I am always impressed with the Grand Canyon...no matter how many pictures one sees of it, it cant match actually being there, and seeing how huge and beautiful the Grand Canyon is...
Palo needs to get her traveling shoes on, and see some of the wonders of the state she lives in...perhaps when it cools down some, she and Bill will make a few day trips, for there is much just near her, that is lovely to see...

Good afternoon or morning Mom.. I just crawled up from a nap.. Ever do that? It's awful, couldn't find my way back and kept opening my eyes and just couldn't wake up. Heard everything going on around me, but it was like trying to wake up from the dead.. lol
I finished my curtains this morning and made 4-5 dozen meatballs and got the sauce cooking, and then I was pooped. My lower back hurt from leaning over the sewing table and kitchen counter.
Well, I am awake now, and other than defrosting a roll of bread and making the pasta I'm through for the day..
I guess everyone is off having a ball somewhere, while we sludge along.. grrrrr...
To: grannie9
Hi there Grannie...sounds like you have really been busy, making up the new curtains, and cooking up all those meaatballs and sauce..dare I guess, that Spaghetti and Meat Balls, with hot from the oven bread, is the planned meal of the day...sounds delightful...Spaghetti and Meat Balls is one of our all time favorite meals....
Sometimes I do take an afternoon nap..what I dont like bout them, is when I wake up, I am all confused...I assume I have been asleep all night, and am horrifed to learn, upon waking, that its still the same day as when I fell asleep...kind of mixes up the rest of the day...but ah, the afternoon naps feel sooooo good....

Did you know there is a canyon down in Mexico that is deeper and 4 times bigger than the Grand Canyon???? Known as Barranca del Cobre, or Copper Canyon. Another place to go in your RV after you retire...lol....

I know Mom.. I hate being forced by tiredness to take them too.. If I could just stop getting up so early in the morning, but it's my way and has been for years and years.. Before I had the computer I used to paint until other people got up, but now I nose around the internet..
When one thirty or two o'clock in the afternoon rolls around I get sleepy.. Of course when I was younger I could go all day then half the night again..
Those days are gone now..but thank goodness my good looks, sveltness, smoothskinned face and stunning personality are still intact... ;) heh heh heh...
To: lodwick
Loddy, you're totally disgusting.. Are you having fun? ;)
Carry on......

Naturally, all the good things remain, as we age(Yuck, Yuck)...
My uncle who lived downstairs of us while I was growing up, used to get up at 5am for his job...even when he retired tho, he had spent so many years getting up at that time, he just got up at that time even when retired...by the time the rest of us upstairs were getting ready to go, my uncle had already gone to bed...
It really was odd that way...the uncle and his family downstairs, were all more geared to getting up extra early, because the man of the house got up so early...but in our house, with my dad working graveyard, we always were more later risers(except when us kids were in school)...
It always made for interesting family outings when both familys would go on picnics and such...usually one of the men, would wind up falling asleep on the picnic blanket...but we knew how the different scheduling went in the two different households, so both families tried to be accomodating to the other family...
It was always so funny tho, when my uncle was getting ready to pull out of the garage to go to work, my dad was pulling in from working the whole night...it was kind of like two ships passing in the night...

I think you have to be nuts to go bungee jumping...that being said, my nutty son went bungee jumping, while on his round the world trip...thanks goodness he never told me about it till it was over, and he was successful, and did not die...
Every time he was going to something which he knew I would worry about, he never told me about his plans...just let me know, after it was over...that way he figured I would not worry as much...
To: westmex
Thanks for the info Westy...can hardly imagine another canyon being bigger and deeper than the Grand Canyon...shall have to keep that place in mind, it sounds like it would really be a great place to visit...
To: andysandmikesmom
Sorry I didn't get right back Mom..I was hanging the curtains.. They're not much, but they add some color to the room...
To: grannie9
Myself, I love home made curtains...I have never been one to soak a lot of money into fancy expensive window coverings...I know many people spend tons of money having custom made curtains and drapes, and thats fine....but I just prefer to make my own...
It was fun when the boys were young, I would take them to the fabric store with me, and let them pick out whatever kind of material they wanted for the curtains in their rooms, and they always seemed to enjoy that...
To: andysandmikesmom
These are just lined tiers, but I needed some color in the room... I will post a pic or two in a while.. I have so many colors in there now and I wish I could have gotten something in blue.. Next time, lol
To: grannie9
There will always be a next time, or so it seems...
To: andysandmikesmom; grannie9; palo verde
Next time keeps us going on - as Palo would say, "Next year, in Jerusalem."
If there's not a next time, why bother? imo
