Good morning everyone!
An article posted overnight reminds me that the 2002 elections are not far away.
Here in ATRW land we're paying attention to the N.J. Senate race, and the Maryland Gov. race.
Next Tuesday, there are more primaries, and we can expect more and more polls.
Yippee!! NOT!
And the 2002 Summer Vacation Season winds down.
Chairman, have a perfectly wonderful vacation, and return to us rested and recharged!
The leaves are falling everywhere. 85 degrees with a heat index of 91. If you were inside looking out you would think fall is here in Virginia Beach.
I wondered if I could say something that has been bothering me for some time.
Not about this or other threads. but about a certian attitude I detect towards out neighbors to the north, CANADA.
Don't get me wrong, now, I was born in the state of Indiana and lived in Tennessee for a year and rraised for the most part in the state of Maryland.
My father is from Tennessee, that would make me an American.
My mother is from Saskatchewan, Canada. Which makes me also a Canadian.
I am a proud American but I am also proud of my Canadian heritage as well, Canada has always bee a friend and a good neighbor to the United States and has stood by us, and is still standiong with us in our war on terror.
I am not ashamed to say I am part Canadian.
Now On other threads I hear a lot of Canada-bashing wich hurts me deeply as I don't wish to deny that part of my heritage, but I feel forced into doing so by those freepers who insist on making out Canada to be some sort of terrorist state or worse!
Canada DID NOT let in those terrorists!
Canada has STOPPED more terrorists from coming into the United States then anyone will ever realize.
GOD BLESS CANADA!
True friend of the USA!
It is gorgeous up here, a beautiful New England town! It kind of reminds me of Williamsburg and located so close to the ocean! I am in a coffe shop right now, been browsing the shops. We left Camden Maine yesterday - another beautiful place - and we went on a sail on a schooner, what fun!
If anyone still likes Kevin Costner, we had lunch in a place called New Harbor, and I kept telling my husband it looked like teh place they filmed "Message in a Bottle" and (we had the world's best Lobster Roll!) he saw a wall with photographs on it with the cast and crew in them and it was filmed there!
of course, the highlight of this trip was going out to Walker Point!!!! I took a lot of pictures and there was the Fidelity II sittig in a little bay by their compound. A lot of security there, a gatehouse, places for the USSS to stay, black SUVS, etc. I loved it! There were lots of other folk there doing the same thing! In town, I saw a shop we are heading back to that sells ball caps with "43 - Kennebunkport, Maine" and also 41 etc.
Guennie - it is on the right as soon as you go over the bridge into Kennebunkport -
got to run now , hubby wiaitng ! I will be back on line Friday night! Later y'all!!!!
I sympathize with you, because a lot of these statements are made by people who have nothing better to do than post an insult and act with much bravado. It is silliness.
Some Canadian journalists are, like their American counterparts, causing trouble as much as they can. I don't judge Canadians by their newspeople any more than I judge New Yorkers by the output of the New York Times.
I also want to remind you that there are plenty of democrats here posing as conservatives, and they post things that are insulting in an attempt to make FR look like a bunch of morons. (Some days they are quite successful.) Anyway, Canada has much to be proud of, and I am glad they are our ally, and you should be PROUD of your heritage!
U.S. sends letter to Arab leaders...."There will be no turning back!
Start the clock....the time is near.
