Various News Sources and Free Republic Members | Aug. 15, 2002 | All of Us

Good morning everyone!

An article posted overnight reminds me that the 2002 elections are not far away.

Here in ATRW land we're paying attention to the N.J. Senate race, and the Maryland Gov. race.

Next Tuesday, there are more primaries, and we can expect more and more polls.

Yippee!! NOT!

And the 2002 Summer Vacation Season winds down.

Chairman, have a perfectly wonderful vacation, and return to us rested and recharged!

CS ~~~ I was going to reply sooner but stopped to watch the President's speech. He's not perfect but I just love that man. Near the end of the speech, as he was talking about how great America and Americans are, he was just so full of emotion he was struggling not to choke up. I just thank God that we have a man in the White House now who loves this country so deeply and is doing all that he can to protect and preserve it!

Now ..... back to the topic you raised. Dittos to everything that Miss Marple said so well. There are people on FR who are negative about everything ...... I don't see how they stand living with themselves. Life is so much more pleasant when you look for the good things rather than always seeing the glass as nearly empty because it's not running over. Those people say a great deal more about themselves than they do anyone (or any place) else.

Try to take what they say with large doses of salt ....... and then come here to spout off and vent, like you did ..... *hugs*

A very special FReeper is coteblanche, a Canadian ...... her profile page is wondrous ...... please check it out .... you'll love it!

Hurray, Cs! Thanks for stopping by! Saw a neat Maine travel commercial on TWC last night.

Utah - Was wondering if you'd read the Byatt book. Looks intriguing.

DG - You'll do fine with the course. We are proud of you for taking this on.

I began a short series last night: Discipleship for Ordinary People. Spiritual, yet practical, video series, and afterwards we had a pretty good discussion ...

Hey coteblanche - The negative people get to all of us around here every so often, or even more, some days, LOL! But you are ONE Canadian we're proud to have as a neighbor, and so is Canada.

Thanks Molly, for some reason Rev. Spradlin thinks I'll be fine *L* I've taken Disciple I and II over the last two years and thoroughly enjoyed them. This one will be no different other than I will be facilitating.

I've taken Disciple I and found it to be quite rewarding ..... but it takes time to study, even as a student. I'm sure being a facilitator requires much more time in preparation. But, with the Lord's help, you'll do fine ...... and benefit greatly, I'm sure.

At the church we are about to leave, they offered the Disciple II and III classes but the leader was the very liberal husband of the pastor ...... we chose not to attend. But a detailed study of Paul's letters would be fascinating!

Most of the time my ignore button works pretty well ..... but sometimes it malfunctions and I sound off. Some of the garbage just has to be refuted.

I've always felt that your profile page is one of the best on FR. And I am a member of Free Dominion and find it a wonderful alternative when FR is down. Y'all have done a grand job with it! Thanks!

Lysie, every excuse I ever needed to not do housework! Loved all of them, but #3 is my all time favorite. I hate doing windows.

Here's a little band-width wasting:

PEOPLE ARE LIKE POTATOES

Some people are very bossy and like to tell others what to do, but don't want to soil their own hands. They are called "Dick Tators" ÿ

Some people never seem motivated to participate, but are just content to watch while others do the work. They are called "Speck Tators". ÿ

Some people never do anything to help, but are gifted at finding fault with the way others do the work. They are called "Comment Tators". ÿ

Some people are always looking to cause problems by asking others to agree with them. It is too hot or too cold, too sour or too sweet. They are called"Agie Tators". ÿ

There are those who say they will help, but somehow just never get around to actually doing the promised help. They are called "Hezzie Tators". ÿ

Some people can put up a front and pretend to be someone they are not. They are called "Emma Tators". ÿ

Then there are those who love and do what they say they will. They are always prepared to stop whatever they are doing and lend a helping hand. They bring real sunshine into the lives of others. They are called "Sweet Tators". ÿ

Share this with all the Sweet Tators You Know - and all those on ATRW are just exactly that - Sweet Tators!

Very good, jtill!

But there is one missing ....

..... there is one special person who has quite a knack for analyzing things political and expressing them quite well ..... as well as having a marvelous wit ...... and he is known as Common Tator!

Phewie to those negative nay-sayers about our "big" northern friends the ! Who else would we want on our northern border?

You know, sometimes I get cranky and say things that perturb me for the moment and I don't mean to offend anyone, but your posts have meade me realize thtaI probably have offended others. I do humbly apologize right here and now. I really am a Republican, love our country and our friends and consider myself a "Christian" striving to live a christain life and sometimes not always making it. So I just pick myself up and try again!

Well ... I am Irish ... and .. and ... some ... *sigh* ... french ... imagine my dismay on occasion. When I am not drunk ... I am a limp-wristed snot ... and, sometimes, I am both! *grins*

Some people ain't got no fertilizer in their fields ...

You both are true Patriots and offer up the very best of your own special heritage ... and, more ... by example ...improve us all.

Tell those sweet selves to pound sand ...

Good day, all ... Perky Penny checking in ... HAR!
