Hi Palo... a little break.. I got all the engineering done and now I'm starting to sew.
It's getting warm up there tho.. I have the iron on, all the lights and the washer and dryer.. As I said..it's warming up. That room is best for sewing in the winter..when I'm not here..lol
I had a wonderful happening. It must be turning into a new cycle for us. I cut out my curtains, (three) and got my bolt of lining material out of the closet and cut the first piece and it fell off the bolt. Omg, I think..I'm not going to have enough lining for three.. I measured the lining material, and I couldn't believe it, there was "just" enough for two more curtains. Not one speck over or under. That was what I call lucky and almost unbelieveable. This bolt was huge originally..and thick and round like wrapping paper.
Needless to say, I'm one happy woman. I will have to buy more lining for the dining room tho..but that's ok, as I was saved by something this time..... lol
one happy, warm sewer, Gran

Another beach pic for Palo.. Al just got back from riding his bike at the beach. He likes to see the ladies.. Of course it wasn't this beach.. This is Lovers Key in Fl.

You have fun today being a domestic goddess. It maybe your only skill that will get you through old age, once your spitttting and whoring days are done. I'm sure AC can find some sails for you to mend ;-)
To: palo verde
Well, I guess my good luck was for a reason.. It was to sooth me before the jolt.
Al just went down to the pool house and the whole stereo system is gone. CD's, speakers, (not the big ones) but small ones, cd changer and amp, all gone.
When I came down to this room at quarter of four this morning, I went to shut the windows and noticed a car pulling up on the road outside.. I had no lights on in the room yet. I shut the one window and looked out the one facing the street and saw someone come into the yard by a little path thru the bushes. I figured a drinker going pee. Still may be, but they might have been picking up the stereo system that they had put outside..and waited to pick up later. I didn't see anyone in the yard at the time tho and they weren't there long, but they did put the car lights out. Who knows if it is a seperate incident.
Glad it's the end of summer, because we won't need too much music now.. Grrrrr... Al usually keeps it locked at night because we've had booze stolen, but no booze no lock..and now the stereo is gone.. Kids..
To: habs4ever
You're such a brat... lol Where have you been you Philanderer?

been lurkin' and doing my day job too ;-)AC has asked me to find more potential concubines, yet his wages are meagre, and he gasn't plunder art treasures in months.I do so wish he'd make his way back to Roma and pinch a Caneletto or two ;-)
To: habs4ever; acnielsen guy
Well, why don't you put a burr in his blanket? He's much too content, and lethargic lately.. He needs a good swift boot on his bottom..or a pick-pocket in his pants.
He needs to get hungry, and nasty, and mean!!! He has to get his black heart back..along with his spleen. He needs some willin wimmin... ;)
To: grannie9
I fear that he's lost his fight, and like an old Mob boss, needs to be "retired." A new, more progressive, more pro-active approach to plunder, pillage and whoring, one in keeping with the new synergies of the digital era, or borderless, seamless shopping and global communications.
In others words, he's a bust ;-)
To: habs4ever
Roflmao.. Sounds like the young are looking for a mutiny.. I don't know if you'd be the right one for the yob.. Your head is turned too easily. One little twist of the knife and you're off on a tangent to fight the wrong war for instant gratification.. We need a steady Eddy, a man of all season's.. A man who knows when to lay back and when to fight.
I will work on the Capt'n, and get him out of his doldrums.. If I run into trouble I will call Palo, and Neets, Kathleen and Mom.. That should make him "rise" to the occasion..
You just hold back you young whippersnapper, and give our Cap a break.. He needed a respite from plunder, black thinking and "stuff."
Oh that's right, he never gave up the "stuff." Erase that..;)
To: grannie9
Goodness gracious Grannie...you wuz robbed...that must have been scarey, after the fact....someone invading your space, even if it was the pool house...really sorry to hear about that...
To: andysandmikesmom
Yes.. it's the invasion that bothers you.. The police are here now.. We are just making a report. The town folk like to know when and where people are getting robbed.. It won't matter otherwise.. BBS..

Good morning all....its a chilly 49 degrees here right now, due to rise to 74....its cloudy and chilly, and smells like the fall...the leaves are turning color, the evenings get darker quicker, and I am beginning to see groups of birds migrating, and hear the geese honking as they take flight...
Many children have already returned to school, our kids here will be returning after Labor Day, and Labor Day weekend, itself, is only a week and a half away...
Thus begins my actual favorite time of the year...I love autumn, which signals the beginning of the Holiday season ahead...constant changes are occuring..
Dizzy is sound asleep sunk into his big quilt in his big chair...he just loves that chair, in the family room, and has made it his own..he does not like it when someone else sits in his chair...if he spies you sitting there, he will give you a nasty look, until you get up...then he promptly jumps up, as if to claim that chair for his own...
Palo, what is Miss Lulu up to?...
To: andysandmikesmom
A Detective and Policeman.. They told us to come down and get a listing of the known pawnshops in the area and we can take a look to see if we find our stuff. That would be the only way I guess of catching someone. We haved our suspicions, as it's happened before, but you can't go on suspicions..
They actually put the lights on in the pool house and closed my tie-back curtains..so no one would see them. Like Al said, just to find that light switch in the dark would take a little time if you didn't have a flash or something.. Oh well, as long as it wasn't the house.
That happened to me in Mass.. I came in while they were upstairs in my bedroom during the day.. Now that was scary.. If it hadn't been a three story house, they would have shoved my sis and I right down the whole flight of stairs getting away.. I lost a bit of jewelry with that one..
To: grannie9
Well, I sure hope that they catch the punks that did this...they need to be caught and punished and taught a lesson...too durned lazy to get a real job, just want to rob others of their hard earned possessions..
Sure hope the police can help recover your stuff, and catch the vermin that did this..
