Well, I wound up buying 3 Marie Osmond dolls...one is a large Christmas doll, and two are very small little dolls(need to go to very small dollies, am running out of room here), and bought another Christopher Radko Christmas ornament, which is a companion ornament to one of the dolls I bought tonite, so all toll, finished my shopping day, with 3 Marie Osmond dolls, and 3 Christopher Radko ornaments, so I am quite satisfied....

BigDom and I are collectors....of many and various things...I come by it naturally....my mom and my dad were giant collectors of many things, and they each had their special collections, that I have inherited...BigDom caught the collecting bug from me....he has his special collections...

Even Andy is a collector of things, tho on a much smaller scale, so far anyway...but hes young, give him time, we will turn him into a true collector....

BigDom and I figure it this way....we pay the bills, save a certain amount, and the rest is for taking trips, and our collections...and we have a buffer...BigDoms National Guard retirement checks will start up in April...since we are not used to having it anyway, it will just go into a special account and accumulate for two years, without our ever touching it...then when BigDom retires in 2yrs and some odd months all those retirement checks will have accumulated and with interest, will be a nice little amount...added to what we have already saved, and BigDoms Thrift savings from the post office, plus our other retirements, we should be just fine...

So there will indeed be enough gas money to visit one and all, when the time comes...

One of these days, I will talk about our collections, and my parents collections and Andys collections....

We just seem to have collecting in our blood...

Tomorrow begins the saga of Saturday in Seattle...this will include some clues about the broken chair, and will also include some hamburgers, looking much like the pic that Loddy posted earlier on today...

I like that....my son loves to write in Haiku..and I enjoy reading Haiku...tho I cannot do it...I am longwinded, talk on and on...

Haiku requires an economy of words, but still must convey the thought...your Haiku was great....

Nutz....its still hot here, its 84 right now...I am just hating this heat...I think it is supposed to cool off greatly by the weekend, but we have to still get through a couple of really warm days, before we get there...

Mr. Dizzy, tho, is playing it cool...hes stretched out on his big chair, flung completely over on his back, and letting the big ceiling fan, blow cool air on his tummy....

Hes a cool cat, man....

To be honest I'm not really sure what Haiku is supposed to be...I just made that up and it looked to be along the right lines.
My definition of Haiku:

random thoughts
don't feel like typing
let others decipher
piled words

Lulu report
it was very hot
I wore my new hush puppy sandals
I wore halter sundress
we walked one block to Cora's fence
a little girl was waiting in the car for her daddy to take her for a bite to eat
she was planning to order bagel with cream cheese
Lulu jumped in car with her
her name is Hannah
then she got out of car to pet Lulu
and chit chat with me
she was still waiting for her daddy, who was engrossed in showing nother man how to renovate the little apt
Lulu went to Cora's gate to try to be let in
Cora and Floyd were busy
Hannah and I had interesting desultory conversation
then it was too hot
I took her back, the yardworkers were arriving across street and she went up for pets
one man said about the man who was petting her, ''he doesnt like people but he likes dogs''

I cooked steaky
first Happy and Lulu ate together
then Happy hid his steaky in yard, then I fed Lulu more steaky
now she is sleeping in hallway
Love, Palo

I looked up Haiku, and this is what I found...very interesting....I think this definition was actully written by someone whose first language is something other than English, but I think you can get the point about Haiku...I copied and pasted the little scenario below...maybe later I can find something a little more literate...but this definition tickled me with its attempt to translate into correct English grammar, and note the spelling errors...its just kind of fun to read....

Haiku is a small poetry with oriental metric that appeared in the XVI century and is being very popular mainly in Japan. It's been disseminating in all around the world during this century. It have an old and long story that reminds the spiritualist philosophy and the Taoist simbolism of the oriental mistics and Zen-Buddhist masters who express much of their thoughts in form of miths, simbols, paradoxes and poetic images like the Haiku. It's done to transcend the limitation imposed by the usual language and the linear/scientific thinking that treat the nature and the human being as a machine.

It's a contemplative poetry that valorizes nature, color, season, contrasts and surprises. Usually it has 3 lines and 17 syllabes distributed in 5, 7 and 5. It must register or indicate a moment, sensation, impression or drama of a specific fact of nature. It's almost like a photo of some specific moment of nature.

More than inspiration, it's need meditation, effort and perception to compose a real Haiku.
