We will not tire, we will not falter and we will not fail! [President Bush]
Good Morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
The Justice Department has annouced that, beginning September 11, 2002, thousands of foreign visitors, mostly from Mideast and Arab countries, will be fingerprinted and photographed at the border.
Back in June, it is now being revealed, Martha Stewart approached a House panel through an aide. She asked the Panel to issue a statement clearing her. The spokesman for the House Energy and Commerce Committee said they were "stunned."
There is a report circulating on Drudge that says the United States will, if necessary, seize Arab airports by force to allow an offensive against Iraq. Diplomatic sources, according to the Drudge report, say that Arab countries should take America's war preparations very seriously.
A high-ranking Administration official has confirmed the United States received reports yesterday from an unnamed foreign government that Al Qa'eda was planning to hit major United States targets. Some locations suggested were the Golden Gate Bridge, the Brooklyn Bridge, and a "major landmark" in Chicago. The official was careful to point out these were not confirmed "targets" but rather possibilities.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Thank you!
They've broken for lunch, and later the Budget Director and Sec. of Commerce will be speaking when the discussion resumes ...
In the repeat, O'Neill is calling for a strong budget and for Cong to pass Homeland Security....Nothing new here. President of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is now speaking. Fundamentals are strong, but the economy is facing a challenge. Unemployment is NOT going down. Not going up either. Businesses are NOT investing and spending....
"Wait and See" attitude could push country back to recession.
Have to leave with son on errand....
C-SPAN may replay all this again tonight.
Beautiful, sunny morning here, with a hint of fall in the air.
High school football season has started, so I am wrestling with getting my oldest boy to practice and back every day - a 85 mile round trip. They won their first game last weekend and are optimistic about the season. I can't complain too much as we have some nice time together on the road. (when he can get the music or cell phone out of his ear).
Father O'Malley rose from his bed. It was a fine spring day in his new Washington DC parish. He walked to the window of his bedroom to get a deep breath of the beautiful day outside.
He then noticed there was a jackass lying dead in the middle of his front lawn. He promptly called the US Senate for assistance.
The conversation went like this: "Good morning. This is Senator Daschle. How might I help you?"
"And the best of the day te yerself. This is Father O'Malley at St.Brigid's. There's a jackass lying dead in me front lawn. Would ye be so kind as to send a couple o' yer lads to take care of the matter?"
Senator Daschle, considering himself to be quite a wit, replied with a smirk, "Well now father, it was always my impression that you people took care of last rites!" There was dead silence on the line for a long moment.
Father O'Malley then replied: "Aye, that's certainly true, but we are also obliged to notify the next of kin.
Another busy day for us today so I won't be here much except to lurk .......
Rain starting here. Kids back in the house watching Dora the Explorer.
Is it December yet?!!!!
One of the main problems of popular culture is that so much of it goes to the lowest common denominator, rather than trying to elevate. Your comment is a different and better way of stating that, and actually quite poetic.
The drought situation in this area has gotten critical. A quote from a story about one town's water supply ....
The First Broad River, which normally flows at 33 million gallons a day, is flowing at 3 million gallons. As of Thursday, the city has enough water to last them through the first week of September, officials say.
That is becoming frighteningly typical. Town after town has gone on water restrictions and they are getting pretty serious about enforcing them.
