I think she said hot pink is her fashion statement this summer

I found pretty color by Revlon called ''cognac''
In July I liked coral, but for August cognac is prettier
it has purple in it

That's beautiful, Gran. Summer in New England. Will you be there when the leaves turn or will you be back in FL by then?

Purple sounds pretty. We nail polish addicts need to keep each other up to date on these matters. :)

Beautiful pics Gran - thank you for the beauty.
I may need to stop posting after the third G&T or so.
Though it does make for fascinating reading the next day. ;-)

A tremendous Thursday to all passing through the Doorway. JL

Thanks for the info on Sandy Hume...I thought his name was Andy, but that did not seem quite right...just needed to add an 'S' to Andy....

I tried to do a search yesterday on him, and could hardly find anything written at all....

Your report does seem to explain it for us, and its a mystery, isnt it?

Thanks for that info...

Al & Tipper Wouldn't Pony Up for the Boss

Tickets to Bruce Springsteen's tour are pretty hot stuff. They're hard to get, but they're not too expensive at $77 —compared to recent Paul McCartney and Prince shows. But not everyone wants to pay for them.

Take, for example, former Vice President Al Gore and his lovely wife, Tipper. Sources close to them and to Springsteen tell me Tipper tried to get free tickets to the Springsteen show for the entire Gore staff. When that didn't work, and she was told even paid admission would be hard to come by, the ex-second lady persisted.

"They wound up being offered four," says my source. "But when they were asked to pay $75 apiece, they said forget it. And you know, that's why Gore isn't president, in a nutshell."

Looks like Bruce is taking Gores message about the people vs. the powerful to heart!

Good morning all, for its still morning here on the west coast...a chilly morn, just 57 degrees, due to rise to about 77 or so...another lovely day in store, for those of us in the Pacific Northwest....

I will only be here, in and out sporadically, as am getting ready for the three day weekend up to Seattle...need to pack, clean house(Why do women insist on cleaning the house before they go on vacation or away for a while?...its a mystery), need to go to the store for last minute incidentals, need to get to the post office to mail off my money orders for all my ebay purchases....well I am just a busy gal today...

We still have not decided for sure what we are going to do, what we are going to see, while up in Seattle...we are just going to be impulsive, head on up there, and see what strikes our fancy...

Tho the evenings are already spoken for...Friday evening we will just relax...But BigDom has two different sports events on two different nites...one night he will be seeing the Seattle Storm(professional womens basketball team), play at the Seattle Center, and the other night he will be seeing an exhibition game of the Seattle Seahawks....

I guess the sports were the main reason BigDom wanted to go up to Seattle for Sat and Sun evenings..but he wanted me to come with, so we could be doing things during the day...I decline going to the sports events, tho....but he does not mind going by himself...

I will be interested to hear his take on the new football stadium that was built for the Seahawks...it does not have a name yet, because they dont have a sponsor yet...

But a number of years ago, they imploded the KingDome, which was the playing field for both the Seattle Mariners baseball team and the Seattle SeaHawks football team...so after that monstrosity was imploded, they built Safeco Field, with its retractable roof, and that is now the home field for the Mariners...its really a marvelous stadium, and general consent is that its one of the best stadiums in the country...

The new football stadium, looks very similar to Safeco Field, and its built right next to it...but I dont think that the football stadium, has a retractable roof, because, as we all know, football players are supposed to be tough, and be able to play in all kinds of weather...it would be sissified, to me anyway, if this new football stadium has a retractable roof for inclement weather...be tough football players, play in the snow, the rain, the wind, the mud, and the hail...

Both the new stadiums are built where the old KingDome used to be...I will be curious to hear BigDoms impressions of the new football stadium...I know he already loves Safeco Field...

Dizzy already seems to know that something is up...he is so demanding today, and eating his snacks like a little piggy...I think hes trying to cram as much love and attention and special treats into himself as possible, to compensate for being left alone for three days...poor baby...

But, when we return, I go out of my way to overcompensate, and spoil him rotten, so he wins in the end...

Saw one of my favorite commercials on TV, just now...its the K-Mart commercial, where they begin by playing the holdiay song, 'Its the Most Wonderful Time of the Year', amd of course, one thinks its an early Christmas commercial...but no, its the most wonderful time of the year, because the kids are going back to school..

You see the dad enter K-Mart, delighted and smiling at the prospect that his two children are now returning to school...he is followed by two glum, sad, slow walking children, who are obviously not anxious to start picking out their school supplies.....The shopping cart is quickly being loaded by a giddy dad, while his children glumly look at the supplies on the shelf...the cart goes speeding by the kids, with dad high in the air, and a big grin plastered on his face....its priceless...

In general commercials bore me...but every once in a while, there are some clever, and smile producing commercials, just like this K-Mart commercial, and of course the 'Enzyte' commercials that we thoroughly discussed yesterday...

Yak, Yak, Yak, I sure do go on and on and on....

There ya go...those with money expect everything to come their way free, because they have name recognition...but us regular folk are expected to pay...

How cheapie can people get? And ya know, for the regular person $77 or $75 dollars is a lot of money for a concert...but they put it out, if they really want to see something...they may save their extra change for a while, they may work a few hours overtime, they may give up something else they love, in order to be able to pay for a concert ticket...

And then you have the Gores, who expect those same concert tickets for free....I expect, with my really cynical eye, that most politicians expect lots and lots of freebies...its just disgusting...
