You sound like a great landlord. We're moving this weekend into the house we just bought, and I am soooo anxious to get out of here. I had some lovely plants - roses and camelias, and an azalia, and some succulents, all in pots, in front of our apartment. Everyone in our building got a notice that we had to remove EVERYTHING from our front porches and balconies. We had less than two weeks to do it. I wrote to the landlord and offered to discuss the matter, that I felt it was an unreasonable demand. Well, he flew out here from Kentucky, landed on my doorstep and threatened me with 3 days eviction if I didn't have everything moved by Monday (this was Saturday). Youch. Then he spotted one my kitties. I told him that cats were allowed as per our rental agreement, and that we had paid a pet deposit. Oh. then I find out from another tenant that he was planning to make us get ride of the cats, if we didn't move out. Now, that would be an interesting exercise. Whew. No more landlords!

BTW, did you hear that Dr. Alan Keyes received an award from the Israelis for his treatment of the issue........he's over there now on a fact-finding mission, to get a refresher on the Middle East.

The former FReeper who has and still does worked for him has been writing daily reports, with pictures....I've seen them at Liberty Post forum.

Sounds like Dr. Keyes and one of the extremist Arabs in the Knesset went the rounds when he was visiting their 'halls of government".

Chris is correct. Austin sucks for reasonable rentals.

A DECENT three bed single family home, in a DECENT neighborhood will be a grand, or much more, per month.

Huh. That sounds cheap to me. But then, I live in the Bay area. A decent three bedroom single family home in a decent neighborhood will rent for at least $2800, and that is in the less desirable locations. In towns like Walnut Creek, a two bedroom apartment will go for $1600, and up, depending on location and amenaties. Ain't it great?

That is great. Nice to know that there is some wisdom about the media somewhere out there in the world. Israel is pretty sophisticated, especially when compared to the bozos they have to put up with all the time. It's amazing the level of tolerance they have. I would think they would have carpet bombed Gaza and the west bank and effectively neutralized the Palestinians by now. At least that would be MY natural inclination in their position.
