What is potchkied?? you mean kitsch?? Yup, it seeems to look like a quaint country store out of a Bob Newhart episode....does Grannie sell homemade jams and scones from her kitchen window, along with her lace work?? ;-)

Well we got hit with the storm of the century last night..lost power from 5Pm yesterday till around 8:45 this morning....I went to Walmartty with Mom at 0700 hrs..we saw the Power guys havening breakfast at the diner...around 8:15 on the wayhome from Walmarttty we saw the power guys sitting under a pole drinking their coffee...at 0845 BOOM!! The lights/fans/tv's all went back on. I guess they needed a power breakfast and a good cup of coffee to work up the energy to flip the switch back on.

I am relieved that the storm didn't scoop you up and send you into Oz, lil one ;-) Bummer about all your melted ice cream, though.Have a ciggy instead!!
I have some links for you to read from last night....
To: habs4ever
The kitchen is a mess...I didn't think fast enough to take the ice outta the freezer so we had a lake on the kitchen floor...have to throw away everything in the freezer, but seeing as I "DON'T EVER HAVE ANYTHING TO EAT IN THIS HOUSE" anymore, that isn't a whole heck of a lot..HEHEHEHE.

potchkied is like me in my pic at 6th grade graduation at 11 years old
I had fight with my mom cause the dress I had bought in Rochester the previous winter (when I was still 10 years old) was too young for an 11 year old
I wanted new dress
she claimed I had ''just been bought'' that dress in Rochester, and I didn't need new dress
it was pink organdy with ruffles and gold stars all over it
to ''save'' the dress, I potchkied it up
I wore pink poppet beads as necklace and bracelet
(poppet beads were the rage among 11 year olds then)
I wore pink flowered headband
wearing pony tail with all my hair pulled back, to ''show off'' my pink flowered headband was nother mistake
there was pink carnation pinned to my dress too
there was no way to save that dress
I should have worn simple blouse and skirt
and since I had long black curly hair, worn my hair down
since chickie's painted china cabinet is so pretty
having stuff on top distracts from its beauty
one object on top is ok, two max
but no little blankie under it :)

You go girl!! You tell chickie that she has over embellished her breakie room. You're in trouble now ;-)
Speaking of which, I must dash and get some salad. Its a day for spinning and this is a long weekend in Canuckleland, so have to pick out the good stuff before it turns to slime.I'll be back later pumpkin.
Get some sunglasses!!

Good morning all...up early, with just a drive by posting...have to do laundry, so BigDom can look all snappy for his rock and roll weekend up in Tacoma....
Dizzy is still sound asleep, sunk heavily in his big chair..
And I am looking at 48hours alone, with no one to tend to, other than myself and Dizzy....
Fall is definitely in the air..one great big bush, and a small tree, both in the backyard, are in the throes of turning their leaves yellow....all the stores, , are having the back to school sales...the early mornings, and late evenings here, have become very cool and crispy, as evidenced by my having to Freep, while sitting under a quilt to keep warm...
See ya all later, after I get BigDom out the door...
To: habs4ever
her breakie room is fine
wonderfully pretty
gleams with beauty, color, attractivenss
and is nice settin' for happy little boy in bare feet
To: andysandmikesmom
Fall is there
when did summer happen
I musta missed it
was it last Wednesday
o that's right it was your Seattle weekend
you were sensible to plan your Seattle weekend to coincide with summer
To: palo verde
This was a good excuse for me to talk mom into buying a new fridge...we had a Frigidaire that NEVER worked right....froze fridge stuff in the winter and melted Iced stuff in the summer....So we bought a new GE 21.5 CF freezer/fridge and they are gonna deliver on tues...so I already have old fridge cleaned and emptied out.

Good thinking with the new fridge.
Another area where serious advances have recently been made.
I was looking at...senior moment on the brand...but anyway, they had the ice maker filter inside the freezer where it could be conveniently changed, and they had also figgered out a way to filter the cooling fins so that they did not get all gunked up. Way to go fridge makers.
To: lodwick
Quite an amazing milestone in fridges these days....they have all different kinds of models.
