We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail! [President Bush]
Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
At the NAA(L)CP conference, the Rev. Jesse Jackson labeled President Bush and AG Ashcroft as the "most threatening combination in our lifetime."
A Congressional panel has subpoenaed the records of Martha Stewart's broker.
And the President is pushing his plan of tough new penalties on corporation leaders who undertake corporate fraud.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
Post your short news items, issues of interest, links, and so on. All who advance the Cause are welcome.
LET'S ROLL!!!
Or perhaps the crack-down on corporate fraud will find out what he REALLY does with that money (still thinking about his Wall Street buddy Kevin Ingraham arrested for money laundering in an arms sale).
Hoping to get some rain here by late morning....
For those of you who didn't get enough of the Harken matter yesterday, here's Byron York's piece from NRO:
York investigated the subject thoroughly for the '00 election.
President's speech 11:30 a.m. ET Live on Fox...
Molly ... we're hoping for rain here too ... my lawn looks like I set it on fire. I resist the urge to water .. as it will come back ... but it's surely not a vision of beauty at the moment!
Northern Yankee ... Yesterday, I was reminded of comments you made regarding the sacrifices which had to be made during WWII ... saving toothpaste tubes ... gas rationing. I had to get a refill for my grill's propane tank. Went to the hardware store and was confronted with a sea of useless tanks ... now that we've had to switch to the newer ... more environmentally friendly ones.
I asked the guy what will be done with the old ones ... remember ... there were scores and scores of them ... he said they were all going to the ~~~ landfill?!
What a waste! There's enough metal there to build a battleship ... for goodness sake.
Well ... *prayers* to ALL y'alls ... and to ALL y'alls' alls ...
The demo candidate for Gov. ... little kathy townsend ... is breaking new ground on how to run for office ... by refusing to answer questions on what position she takes on issues!
I am not kidding! When asked about her position on a number of issues, she frequently replies, "I'm not going to discuss my feelings on this topic."
Plus ... she has yet to learn how to wave ... she sort of slaps the air ... not important, I know ... but mildly alarming ....
Dark here this morning. Hope it rains, too, Molly. Our plants need it...our pond is about 2 inches low. Bring on the rain.
AMERICAS WAR ON TERROR Day 302
The news as reported in The Washington Times:
[Note All links go to The Washington Times website.]
1. President Bush has promised a stronger Securities and Exchange Commission.
[A political throwaway for the morons on the left. The issue isnt securities fraud, it is accounting fraud. It isnt a lack of control by the SEC that caused the crisis, it was a lack of morality, no doubt brought about in some measure by the greed and irresponsibility of the last decade. And who was in charge?]
2. Louis Farrakhan was quoted by a Baghdad newspaper of saying, while in Baghdad, that American Muslims are praying for a victory of Iraq over the United States.
[If Congress had only declared war, the man could be put away for those remarks. In fact, he could be put away simply by visiting an enemy nation without authorization.]
Iraq says Farrakhan tells of U.S. Muslims' support
3. The Washington Times has been bringing us news and views for 20 years.
[Note to the Times, Bessie aint delivering no more milk on this one!]
CELEBRATING 20 YEARS: The Washington Times
4. Commuter rail services in the Washington, DC, area are moving to cut ties with a financially precarious AMTRAK.
[Cut the subsidy. If AMTRAK cant make it on its own after all these years, let it die.]
Area rail lines look to cut ties to Amtrak
5. British intelligence has found the IRA using the Columbian civil conflict to test new weapons.
[Hmmm ]
IRA uses Colombia to test new weapons
6. Investigation into the deaths of Afghan civilians at the hands of American pilots has yielded the following: Americans were hunting a senior Al Qaeda member when an AC-130 opened fire, unfortunately killing Afghan innocents.
[Yep, looks more and more like bad intel.]
'Friendly fire' came amid hunt for Taliban
7. In North Carolina, Mrs. Dole has raised money like an incumbent, and campaigns like an incumbent, and she has the endorsement of the current incumbent, Sen. Helms.
[Is it too soon to say Sen. Dole?]
Mrs. Dole campaigns like incumbent
8. The snakehead fish has been found in Maryland waters; the fish is not native to the area and could upset the ecosystem.
[This would not be good news to the bass fishermen.]
We shall not rest until we have cut a swath 60-miles wide through the entire left - taking all that is before us with us as we go. We shall leave nothing to the enemy that may be of value to him. We shall show him that he may count on nothing and will be able to keep nothing, not his spirit, not his soul, not that upon which he shall feed. We shall not cease until the moment we have rent through their entire land and have arrived at the sea, with our glorious victory upon us.

Now you have the info, go support the United States of America!!!
illstillbe... I don't get it. We preach about recycling, and then they want to throw away those containers? Amazing!
Am finishing up the book Black Hawk Down. I am amazed at the courage our boys of Delta Forces, and the Rangers showed, while facing overwhelming odds!
Clinton's complaint about that whole operation was that he'd been ambushed because he wasn't informed of the operation to arrest Adid's top aides. I reckon if he hadn't treated the army with contempt he might have found himself in the loop. (Course then.... who can ever believe what this slug says anyway!)
On a lighter note, I went in yesterday to have my shoulder worked on. (Rotator cuff... I thought only pitchers got that.) The receptionist I met has 2 sons in the U.S. Air Force, and she was so darned proud of them both. (And so she should!) I told her of my experiences in the Air Force, and I bet we talked for an hour. She loves this Country, and her family, and talks proudly of how the armed forces have transformed her sons into men.
I left there feeling even prouder of what a great Country I live in; where we have men once again in charge of calling the shots, people who again display their flags proudly, and parents that are honored that their children are serving in the Armed Forces!
I also think of you all, who are the life's blood of this great Country. You make it work, without fanfare, by your commitment to doing a tremendous job everyday, whether it be in raising your families, ar working at your place of employment.
I am honored to know you all!
I know what you mean about products currently made as opposed to older ones. We have a 1968 Ariens snowblower. No newer model could possibly shoot snow like that one does. I know...I have used newer ones. They spit and sputter in mere inches.
Good morning.
All of the macro level planning has been finished. I know where I am going to be each day, and appropriate reservations have already been made.
I'm working on some micro level material now - location of ATMs (done), location of McDonalds at breakfast time (done), what is available in the hotel area for dinner time (pending). (You may notice I'm not too big on not knowing where stuff is - I take full advantage of the Internet. 'Tis wonderful!)
