Let's just come clean and call Free Republic what it really is.... The He-man Women Hating Club.
Here is a SMALL sampling of the absolute hate for women on this forum. I won't paint all men with a broad brush, because I have known and met some fabulous men here who truly treasure and cherish women, and ***gasp*** even respect them!!!!
So let's clean up our act, shall we fellas? Notice the vile things that are said about women here on a daily basis.

Not only that, but according to some on these threads, you stand convicted as well on a few counts. You're a male, that's a strike against you. You're going against what they perceive as conventional wisdom, another strike. You're calling for equal treatment under the law, and that's the final strike.
That's pretty typical actually.

There you go with that broad brush again. He didn't mention women - he was real careful to keep it neutral. You on the other hand apparently read his mind.
By the way, it's a bad assumption. When I was married, we dealt with an ex-husband who was doing exactly that. My (now ex) wife's first husband didn't see the sense at shopping at Walmart or K-mart when he could go to the higher cost places, spend more, and get less - and then bitch to us because he had already spent the money. Or better yet, bringing the children over for a visit and telling us we needed to buy them shoes because he had spent the money on alcohol.
The reluctance to even acknowledge (much less actually address) the problem is a VERY convincing argument coming from Conservative women.
And then, the rare instances where it is acknowledged if you add in the marginalization factor it becomes overwhelming.
Oh well. Hey.. me and my "activity partner" are grilling out at 7 and when she leaves she won't be taking my car and wallet with her.
Great in theory, but its like trying to have tort reform. Its not going to happen.
