The Free Republic He-Man Women Hating Club

Posted on 07/06/2002 2:52:05 PM PDT by Hillary's Lovely Legs

Let's just come clean and call Free Republic what it really is.... The He-man Women Hating Club.

Here is a SMALL sampling of the absolute hate for women on this forum. I won't paint all men with a broad brush, because I have known and met some fabulous men here who truly treasure and cherish women, and ***gasp*** even respect them!!!!

So let's clean up our act, shall we fellas? Notice the vile things that are said about women here on a daily basis.

Don't say ..." I really love women, but they are all a bunch of feminazis who screw over men and want their money and kids". It takes two to tangle, guys. All your problems are not our fault.

If you can't "blame" either spouse for breaking their vows and their commitment then obviously you should divide as fairly as possible. No givvies, no automatic custody. No soaking the man because he has a penis and that makes him a bad person.

It's already that way here in NC.....we fill out a costs form and it is divided between the parents, support going to to the one raising the child/children....guess thats why I never saw any bias in favor of women.Sounds like a good start. In Ohio, it's very different. I pay $940 a month for one child (and I make nowhere near six figures) and the ex makes 40k at her job.

RE# 205, Some couch time with a shrink might help you be less suspicious of men, IMO.

OK - you are singing to the choir... I am not sure I deserve to be talked to that way, after all I have said in your support.

What do you do then, short of splitting the kid? Most of the time, in my experience, both sides are decent people and loving parents. One would think they could work it out... but look at all the bitterness here! Both sexes have a lot of representatives with awful big chips on their shoulder.

Any validity at all in rewriting marriage law? - I mean... I cringe at the legislating of those "covenant marriages"... and perhaps you can't really enforce marriage vows on couples once one side or the other has emotionally "clocked out"... but what do we do?

Maybe this one can't be fixed.... While I mourn the divorce rate, the main forest fire is over in the "domestic partnership" arena and other sneaky ways of devaluing a marriage tradition that is already in trouble.

Re#256, the problem with splitting costs is that sometimes one parent does'nt feel the need to "bargain shop" and pays stupid prices just to be "seen" shopping and have their kid wear the classiest designer clothing.

They could buy the same thing at nearly 1/2 the price at more commmon, "where the masses shop" type store, but that would be below their dignity to be seen in a place like that.

Well, the kid in that case doesn't have two parents, then, but at least the kid has nice clothes...

Courts aren't going to fix the fact that men and women sometimes choose mates to breed with that play immature head games. Each parent picking up half the cost cant be worse than an arbitrary entitlement to the custodial parent that is based on income, not expense.

I didn't personalize.. I was refering to bias in our courts, where your organs do seem to matter for some reason.

And as far as devaluing marriage goes, that's what the divorce thread is all about. Marriage is becoming a sucide pact for the man and divorce is of great value to the woman.

Until and unless there is some fairness between the sexes here then marriage will continue to be less and less of an atractive alternative.

Honestly, I see no reason besides what's in the Scriptures for men to be married now. None.

Your wife cheat on you? Tough, she still get's all your stuff. She break the vows, do drugs.. whatever? Tough, you're the man and you have to be "responsible" She lied and said you hit her? Tough, restraining order and the Brady bill for you pal. No firearm ever again for as long as you live.

I am sorry, but that's just not a very attractive proposition.

Imagine that. As if a knothead could infer anything. You must not be a knothead, huh?

Isn't it cool how name-calling is such an effective defense against those cheap semantics I was mentioning earlier? It can prolong the most vapid discussion exponentially, providing days and days of fun.

What were we talking about again?

So your not even in favor of splitting the cost of raising a child? Ya see, you get women who agree with the fairness of that proposal and then, turn around and find a way out of even that. I think what you really want is to be able to either walk away from any responsibility or control the parent raising the child.

I see we're coming back to the "hand in the garbage disposal" analogy from the marriage strike thread.

Pretty much.. (which, BTW I bet no one does more than once)

It's not fair and it's turning otherwise good people off to the idea of marriage. Unless they make it fair and treat women the same as men then nothing is going to change.

It's biased and everyone knows it. Look at the posts over there, I can't believe fairness is so unacceptable to some people.

I tell you the truth, I know what's in the Bible and I know what God said and I respect it. But after yesterday and this morning I am seriously considering keeping my "activity partners" on as just that.

Activity partners. These two threads and the nutcase feminist "Conservatives" posting here have scared me nearly to death.

You didn't personalize, but I didn't ask you about penises, and I am not sure why you needed to mention them to me, in polite conversation.

I am sorry that the broken divorce courts make you not want to marry, personally, I hope to marry... and marry for life, so I will not have to deal with the broken divorce court. I don't think women marry because they know they will score in divorce.

I don't see women hitting the jackpot in divorce, they get child support, and they get too much, and it is aribitrary and unfair... I am with you on that. But if they get the house and other assets, then they buy their half, in my experience. Be careful not to exaggerate in making you point or you lose me.

Fixing divorce law is a good end. Fixing marriage as a tradition is a better one... I just don't know how to do it.

AND PS: What's worse is that the women here ARE Conservatives..

They are the creme of the crop!

I am doing a complete about face on marriage, I think. Surely God would want me to honor a wife, be faithful to her and treat her like I would like to be treated..

But I doubt he would ask me to stick my head in a noose because a distortion of his Covenant, societies notion of marriage and man's meaningless paper contract tells me to.

From where I sit now.. I am convinced.

I never thought I would question what he wrote.

Here is how I see it. The majority of little girls raised in this country are brought up to beleive that one day prince charming is going to come riding along and sweep her off her feet, put her up in a nice castle, give her fine children, never to have any problems.

Reality rolls in when the marrage falls apart for whatever reason, and the womans lifetime dream is shattered.

"Hell hath no fury" is'nt the half of it. The shattering of that dream is unforgivable and the man should be required to pay a monetary penalty for the rest of his life. Some women even go so far as to deny the father access to his kids, out of sheer hate, with no regard for the kids.

So, is it the man's fault that he should be penalized excessivly or is it society's fault for perpetrating a fragile fairytale?

Bob, he immediately found a reason why splitting the cost is again 'unfair' because one parent (i'm sure he meant the woman)will be blowing money on expensive clothes.

That could possibly be true in Hollywood but the average woman raising children knows how to stretch a dollar and have no problem shopping at big-K or wal-mart. (even tho some others would call us traitors for buying goods made in China :-)

If I'm wrong, it won't be the first time or last
