Quiet is good! It sounds like a great location.
I didn't buy in the city, I bought out a little further in the mountains. The commute is a little longer, but I like the setting and am very happy.
Val says she will post a pic of the house for you to see.
*fotfl* I feel like a parent sharing pictures of the new baby.

"You mean like tents and hard ground and sleeping bags kind of camping?"

There's another kind?

Yes, it's called 4 star hotel with room service. That's my kind of camping. *fotfl* Can you tell I'm a city kid?

That is just beautiful! I don't have a photo of our place yet. We're in the suburbs, which is OK for now, since it's an excellent neighborhood. We don't have a huge yard, but big enough. We had looked at some of the new construction, but those places have NO yards, and the houses are packed in right next to each other. yuck.

Oh yes, I know what you mean! Those new houses are awful, little boxes about 4 inches apart, no privacy at all.
Parts of this house are about 70 years old.
I lived in the burbs most of my life, and of course when my daughter was younger I had to make sure we are in a good school district. But now, I can live pretty much anywhere I want.

" it's called 4 star hotel with room service"

Oh, well this was definitely the outdoor, on the ground in a tent with sleeping bags type, and because of the fire ban we had to use propane to cook which is a pain. We camped right on the Arkansas River, which is running quite low this year because of the drought. There was no spring run-off, but it was still very nice. I should have pictures tomorrow. Tyler got to go fishing and everything....caught 2 fish. It rained last night and we got a little wet and chilly, but it was nice to get the rain. It is so desperately needed. Today we went to the hot springs at Mt Princeton.

This house is 16 years old, stucco with tile roof, 3 levels, skylights in the bathrooms, many other amenities. It's nice to be able to live where you want! I would prefer a more rural setting, but I think that that will be in the future, retirement years. In the meantime, I'm sure this will be more than adequate.

That really sound lovely SL. I used to camp with my family... about 100 years ago. *LOL*
I'll bet Tyler was soooo proud of himself catching those fish.
I'm glad that the fire didn't ruin your vacation. When are you heading back home?

Sounds spectacular! You will love it even more, once you can move in and make it all your own. You have that wonderful yard, with the greenbelt, which means no one can build there, plus it's extra private and that adds to the value of the house. I'm sure you will be very happy there.
Nothing like your very first house. Congratulations!

I'll be heading back on Sunday, right after the Renaissance festival. I have to be at the hotel on Monday and ready to go to work Tuesday morning. It saves me about 3 hours driving to go straight to the hotel rather than home first...well actually 6 hours, 3 each way, so I won't actually get home until next Thursday night.

We actually have steered clear of the fire effected areas although where we drove through Lake George and Florissant you could see parts of the mountain that were burned and there were 2 fire camps set up and we could see the helicopters that were fighting the fire. The Hayman fire is pretty well contained now though, thank God.
