Those were very sweet thoughts about our pets and that was very touching what you said to Neets.Tonight will hard for her and so will tomorrow, but i hope your words gave her some comfort.

That is where I put my foot down..BigDom cannot bring snakes into the house...if he does, I will move out...

I had enough trouble getting used to Andys pet rats....he had cages for them, but I just found them disgusting at first...as long as he kept them in his room, I was ok...but he used to walk around the house, with his rats in his tshirt pockets, or sit out and watch Tv, holding and petting his rats...

Then when he went away to college, he still had a few rats left and I had to take care of them...it was not enough that I feed them, and clean their cages, Andy made me promise to pet them, and play with them, as they were so people oriented...eventually, I must admit, after I got over my revulsion of them, they really were sweet little pets, and I was sad when they died...

But I dont know that I can ever warm up to a snake...

Its so very hard to lose a pet, or see them ill or suffering...being what some would call just animals, does not diminish our grief when they pass on...

I hope Neets and her mom, keeping vigil on Miss Minnie, will be comforted, by knowing that whatever they decide, it will be for the best for Miss Minnie...

what neets is going thru is the worst
it was what drove me into the arms of God
I had to get the fear off my chest
and have hope my pet would make it

the vet had pronounced death sentence on my pet
I wouldn't accept it

And it must have helped, right? So, in a way, you found a blessing from your pet's suffering...

When we lived in North Carolina, we lived across the street from a pond, which had all manner of turtles, including snapping turtles, and snakes, including water moccasins...amazing that I could stand to live there, knowing what lay in wait at the pond...

Anyway one day I was fooling around out in front of the house, and noticed one of my neighbors on his lawn and fooling with something in a small tree...

So I went over to talk with him...Yikes...I saw a great big snake in that tree, just slithering and twisting himself in that tree..I about flipped out, thinking it was some stray snake from the pond...

But no, it was this guys personal pet snake, some sort of big snake, like a python or some such...from a great distance I asked him what in the world he was doing with the big snake up in the tree...he explained his snake enjoyed the outdoor air, and he was taking him for his 'daily walk'....he apparently took this snake out once a day to 'walk' in the trees...

That just became a joke in our house...whenever we talked about that neighbor, we always refered to him, as, you know, that guy who 'walk' his snake...

oh yes habs that is how I found god

and Jesus!
Jesus is big hurdle for jews, we are taught he is prophet
but not special
but to get fear off my heart I had to read the gospel of st john
in it he tries to convince his disciples he is son of god
it is tall order
it was tall order for me too
I was just like them
but for me with my dog it went on for 3 months
so I read gospel of st john all day everyday, to get fear off my heart
(it was only thing which worked)
I dont remember when it was, maybe in middle suddenly I believed he was son of god
but it took a decision
I decided to believe
after that I could never understand why the disciples had a hard time accepting
it seems so obvious to me rofl

That is really quite a testimonial...you persisted to find the truth, and it came to you...

I have many Jewish friends, and they echo the same sentiments that you have explained...they believed that Jesus was an important prophet, but not the Son of God...Many Jews do stuggle with this subject, and some do come to the belief that Jesus is the Son of God...and many cannot come to that belief...

Now, now Habs...be nice...rats actually dont have a very long life span, so I knew it was only matter of time, before they would die...

I would have had a hard time, killing them, but then telling the son they died naturally...I have a very hard time, holding the truth back from my kids...they always knew me too well...

You know, one time, the rats were sniffling, and so the son wanted me to take them to the vet...I felt silly doing this, for a pet like rats, but he was so worried about his rats...so I packed them up in a box, and did take him and them to the vet...

I honestly believed that the vet would laugh at me...but the vet took it all very seriously...examined each rat with the stethoscope, and did a full physical exam...I could not believe it...sure enough, some of the rats had colds, and the vet even gave me medicine for those little buggers...2 times a day, the son had to give each rat a few drops of meds down their little throats to relieve their symptoms...

And each rat had its own name, and surprisingly enough, its own personality...it really surprise me, when I took the time, to actually be with them, they were quite charming little creatures...but that tail, is gruesome, and perhaps what turns me off the nost about them...

I bet Bill really enjoys his meeting with fellow cavers...

Why do they have to wait for rain, in order to begin caving again?
