I honestly dont think god is workaholic
god said ''you have to break this habit you have anne of every time you have free time thinking you must do a chore''
but this is individual, I bet for someone who loves to clean, god would always suggest cleaning
lol once you start chit chatting with god, god will prolly suggest you go in and spin some lettuce
I really dont think god cares what we do, just that it makes us happy :)
Love, Palo

Very Happy Birthday, Christine...may you have many more to look forward to....

Birthdays to me are always a time of reflection...I always think back over my life, see where I have been, where I would like to be going...

My favorite days for birthdays, are my kids birthdays...whenever their birthday comes around, hubby and I sit and talk about the days before, the day of, and the days following their birth...Its always a fond remembrance...

Hope your special day, will bring you joy and happiness...

Grannie, you have outdone yourself, with the pic of the chair, and the flowers...as I have said before, you dont have a green thumb, you must have two green hands...

Your flowers, and landscaping and your home are stunning...

Finally made my way online...just got hung up with a bunch of other stuff...

I love Palos story about the wind trying to grab her dress, and fling it up in the air...and how she wanted Bill to hold down her skirt...funny that they should be in the parking lot, near the topless cabaret...Heck, Palo, you could have let your skirt fly high, and then charge the onlookers for the view...

Its going to be warm here today,(well, warm for us), with the temps going to about 82...but I see on the news where the whole west, is locked in a heat wave...Where my parents used to live in Redwood Valley, will be 100 today, and for the next several days...and poor Palo, in tucson, will be having temps of 106 today, possibly 108 tomorrow, 106 on Saturday, and that heat will continue for several days...Swim, Palo, Swim...I can understand why you need to swim every day...that heat is really stifling, I will bet...

Well, tomorrow we head out for our weekend in Seattle...should be some fun...

Now hes trying to drag me to a Horse Show, and Pat Benatar concert at the Emerald Queen Casino, up in Tacoma, on the following weekend...a friend of the hubbys from his job at the post office, has several horsess, that he likes to show, and once a year, there is always a big horse show, up in Tacoma...my hubby likes to go, see the horses, shoot the breeze with his friends...and he loves to go to various concerts up at the Emerald Queen Casino...they have lots of entertainment, and he goes up there often to see those shows...

I dont go...but he enjoys it, and does not mind going by himself...he has seen quite a few acts up there...its usually 'older' groups or singers, ones that he can relate to...he says these concerts at the Emerald Queen are always jammed, with about half young people, and the other half grey haired folks who were younger, when these groups were at their height...

But he enjoys going, the tickets are usually not too high priced, and he has never yet been disappointed with the singer or groups that have performed...so if hes happy, then I am happy...But I dont think I will let him drag me off next weekend...

Then the weekend after that he wants to some to a 2 day Scottish Games Festival, somewhere in the state...have not yet decided if I will go or not...

Then in August, he has his AmVets open house, and antique car show, and bar-b-que...he loves to go to that, tho I usually decline...

Ah, summertime, its a busy time for BigDom...

I used to not care bout gettin' flamed
I loved expressing my ideas
and the flames made me laugh
I don't want to say anything controversial on the jimrob thread
you know what just hit me
I like posters being passionate
but when they get emotional, I dont want to be there
I dont want to express anything which upsets someone
Love, Palo

Yes, I am sure that Dizzy is always relieved, when at least one of us is home, to pay attention to him...

He seems to suspect tho, that we are leaving tomorrow...hes been sporting a little grumpy face...dont know if thats because he does not like the heat, or he suspects something is up...

But the upside for him, is that when we return, I always feel so guilty, that I give him extra loving and treats...so it all balances out in the end...but we do worry about him, when we are away from him...

Yep, BigDom, likes to be on the go and do lots of things..thank goodness, he does not mind doing things on his own...I am more of a homebody, I guess...I dont like to go, unless, its something I am really interested in....

I might go to the Highland Games, dont know yet...I have never been to one, so it might be interesting to see...I still have time to decide....

Oh Mom...she is not any better at all...I will take her to the vet tomorrow...she has given me so many years of friendship, joy and love, it's not fair to her for me to leave her like this....she has no strength to pull her tiny body off the floor or the couch and i have to hold her on my lap with her dish infront of her to eat....so I'll see what happens tomorrow.

Its always such a difficult situation...we dont want our beloved pets to go from us, on the other hand, it hurts us so to see them suffering...its just so hard to balance those two circumstances....

Hopefully a compassionate vet, will be honest with you, and tell you truthfully what he thinks...

I always like to watch 'Emergency Vet' on the Animal Planet channel, when I remember to....and very often, the cases involve a pet, which has perhaps come to the end, and its always even hard on those vets to tell someone, that they think the best is to euthanize their pet, and end their suffering....

Our pets, give us so very much, and we love them as if they were a child, one of our own family....its just so hurtful, and seemingly unfair, when we have to make these decisions....they have our trust, and they trust us to do the right thing, for them...

My prayers and thoughts will be with you and your family, and for your darling Miss Minnie.....Bless her little heart for gracing your life...

Do let us know how she is doing, and how you are doing...

Thank so very very much Mom...I know you have lost a few close pets too...so I appreciate that you understand how it is here now...My Mom is going to be especially heartbroken, if it's the worse, as I fear....she and Minnie have been daytime compainions since a year after my Dad passed away...

So many folks, trivialize the death of a pet, and thats so wrong and heartless...the death of a beloved pet, is devastating...

Bless your dear mom, and if it is for the worse, as you fear, she will need you and family to help her through this time....Give her my best, and that I am praying for, and thinking about her and her dear Miss Minnie...

Interesting about Big D and his enjoying the crowds and the events. It's great that he wants to do these things over and over. If it gives him joy, then that's what he should be doing and enjoying. It's also good that he doesn't feel compelled to drag you along: and that you don't feel the need to stay glued to his side. Sounds very healthy to me.

I'm the sort that's "been there, done that." Don't wanta do that again sorta guy. Show me something new and different. I take comfort from and enjoy remembering the past, but it's the past. Nothing more - I don't want to go back there.

Yes, BigDom has his things he likes to do, and thank goodness, he does not feel the need to have me there, nor do I feel the need to go...

I guess our whole marriage has always been like that...I have my things I like to go to, and offer him the invitation to go with, but if he doesnt, I go alone...and vice versa...

Yet there are many things we do together...I guess its something like the poet, Kahlil Gilbran(sp?) talks about in his book 'The Prophet' in one of his poems, he talks about couples, who allow spaces in their togetherness...something like that thought anyway...

That is how we have always operated, from day 1 of our marriage...perhaps that is why we are still married, now almost 33yrs, and still enjoying it, and having fun...

Many of my husbands friends back in Chicago, are amazed that I 'allow' him to go back for two weeks a yr, without me...their wives barely allow them out of the house, for a nite out...one of the guys wants to come out here and visit, but his wife does not want to come all the way out here, and yet she does not want her hubby to go alone...Personally, I just dont get that way of thinking...

Even when the kids were young, we often wound up separately taking them somewhere...sometimes on a weekend afternoon, I wanted to take the boys to a museum, or zoo, or some interesting place...but BigDom wanted to stay home, and watch sports on TV...so I and the boys went, and he stayed home...no problem...

On the other hand, BigDom, always was taking the boys to sporting events, which I did not care to see...so he took the boys, and I stayed home, and did what I wanted to...

Yet, just as often, we both would go someplace interesting together, with the boys...The boys never seemed to be upset if it was just mom, or just dad, or both mom and dad, that took them somewhere...they were always just happy, that either mom or dad or both was happy to take them to some new outing...

Everyone has their own way of making their marriage work, and satisfying and raising their children...some would find our way of working this out to be odd, but it works for us...

As Andy has said, hes awfully glad that me and BigDom, met and married, because he finds us both so different and odd, from most of his other friends parents, that he doubts anyone else would have married either me or BigDom...

We do seem to be well suited...(Now of course, BigDom may have a different reply LOL)
