I have been to New York City a few times, but never lived there...and I have been to the Statue of Liberty, and the Empire State Bldg., because of course I was a tourist...
And we saw arguments in the street between a cab driver and the car behind him...they were fighting and arguing in the street...lots of hollering, hand gestures, and spitting...
BigDom and I just stood there, amazed at the goings on...some construction workers were more interested in looking at me and the hubby, with our mouths, hanging open at the argument going on, and no one but ourselves paying any attention to it...
I know that the construction workers had us pegged as tourists... we were the only ones, concerned about the street fight...I guess the other New Yorkers were used to it...

One of these days, I will indeed get a scanner, and then I can scan pics of Helga and my other bassets...but who knows when I will get around to getting one....
Dizzy also says, that he wants his picture taken and must have it posted online..he is after all, one handsome dude...

I think new yorkers like to argue
I had best friend in nyc linda
me and my dog clio would walk with her to delancy st every afternoon when she placed her bet (at OTB)
when I got to tucson I wrote her every day
since she had told me she did not know how to write a letter I never expected to hear from her
finally after four years I got a letter from her
she had forced herself to write a letter
(''I will just do what you do anne it cant be that hard'')
because she wanted to argue with me
I had given new interpretations for the astrolgy signs and she wanted to tell me I was wrong
Love, Palo

you read my mind
I was just gonna ask you for pic of Dizzy
I cant wait to see him

Does Linda email now? I hope her horse came in one day ;-)
I think many people like to argue.Ever heard of a place called Free Republic?? lol ;-)
The site for the pets is pretty vast, so you don't have to go far.It may be unpleasant, but at least you know it's around if you ever want to visit :-)

your post bout yours and BigDom's experience in nyc interests me
when I worked on wall street the young hot shots were from chicago
I guess fancy suburbs of chicago
while I was typing I overheard their conversation about their experience of living in nyc
the young man said ''anywhere else if those insults were hurled it would come to blows
but in nyc it never comes to blows''
I think this may be true

Check your email...I sent you a pic of Dizzys dad, his name was Murphy...I had it because my son posted a picture of Murphy on his website for a while...
But Dizzy looks exactly like that picture of Murphy...hes a handsome boy...
To: palo verde
Well, when we saw that street argument, between the cab driver and another car, we sure thought it would come to blows...but it did not...just a lot of hollering, swearing, hand gestures, and even some spitting...those two guys were nose to nose, face to face, but never did hit one another...
To: habs4ever
you are right, the analeema looks like string of pearls
it is pretty
rofl I guess freepers like to argue too
the day I got on internet I stopped writing to linda
I had written to her everyday before
after her first letter she wrote to me everyday too
we had beautiful correspondence for four years
her letters were so real
she never knew she was best letter-writer who ever was
last I heard she did not have email or puter
her hubby had talent for picking horses
she placed the bet for him, she always won
nearly always
rofl that is where their income came from

that is exactly what the young man from chicago suburb said about new yorkers
I thought it was like that everywhere
I thought guys always did that, but never came to blows
he gave impression that it happened rarely elsewhere, but when it did, it came to blows
once I saw two young men start to shove each other a little
and a policeman asked them if they would like to come to station house with him and finish the argument
they both said no, and walked away
that was most I ever saw
but yelling and insults, always!
To: andysandmikesmom

Nitety nite, Habs...have a good rest...rest up the Freeping fingers..
To: andysandmikesmom
wow andysmom that is thrillin'
I never pictured Dizzy that way
I always pictured him as regular tabby
I guess because he is so mischievious
how he hides like spy and gives mousie the dickens
he looks like a movie star
I will have a ball picturin' him like this now
he looks like cat in egyptian temple, not like cat who gives mousie dickens
Love, Palo
To: habs4ever

it would be refreshing

To: andysandmikesmom
if you email pic of Dizzy to chickie
she may have way to post it on thread
then everyone can see Dizzy
Love, Palo
To: palo verde
He thinks he is quite the handsome fellow...whenever I am in the bathroom, he likes to sit next to the mirror, and look at himself...
Right now, hes really shedding a lot...hes got such long, fur, and now with summertime, hes shedding his cool weather coat...so its just a constant barrage of long cat fur all over, or so it seems...
We had two flies in the house, and he sure went wild chasing them, and trying to catch them...he likes to play...
Hes a great little spy, when he is in the mood...hiding under a blankie, and jumping up and down on his mousie on a string...he loves that game...
To: palo verde
Thats a good idea...I will ask chickie tomorrow, online, and see what she says...Dizzy will be famous...
To: andysandmikesmom
rofl Dizzy is already famous
but it would be nice to put a face to the name
everyone wants to see Dizzy
he is loaded with personality and temperment
and seeing him in the flesh (picture) makes him even more so
he is expressive!
I know that is Murphy, but it is Dizzy's dad and what Dizzy looks like

Well, time for me to get going...the ever handsome Dizzy is demanding I come and pay attention to him...
And there is another wonderful program on TV tonite...'His Girl Friday' with Cary Grant, Rosalind Russell, and Ralph Bellamy, and made in 1940...and wonderful movie, lots of fast talking dialogue, one must listen intently, and listen fast, to keep up with them...
Last nite I watched the wonderful 'A Tale of Two Cities'...makes me want to reread that wonderful Charles Dickens novel...
I just love old, old movies...they are so great, so much better than a lot of the trash, they turn out today...
So many of my absolute favorite movies were made in the 30s and 40s....films like 'Harvey', 'Arsenic and Old Lace', 'The Maltese Falcon', 'Casablanca', 'A Tale of Two Cities', 'Gone with the Wind', 'The Wizard of Oz', all of the 'Thin Man' Series, ...well, I could just go on and on...
And of course there are all the great horror flicks...'Dracula' 'The Wolfman', 'Frankenstein', and my all time favorite 'The Mummy'...these movies still scare me to death, the still retain their air of horror, throughout all these years...
I guess there are many modern movies I also like, but somehow I just know, that my list of favorite films is much longer when coming from the 30s and 40s....I guess my favorite, from the more modern times, is 'A Christmas Story', but even then I think that was made in the 70s....
I just love my old films...
So must get ready to view tonites old film, 'His Gal Friday'...its a winner...
So goodnite, all and see you all tomorrow..
