I think you might be right Palo..I love lillies...just wait till the star gazers open..should be in another week or so...one of them is almost as tall as I am and has about 6 buds on it.

swamp coolers only work when there is no humidity
that is why everyone in tucson has them
loddy has prolly fixed them so many times, he can explain the mechanics
it is preferable to air conditioning cause you can leave windows and doors open
and since only a motor runs, it doesn't jack up electric bill that much
the real name is evaporative coolers, I dont know how it got nicknamed swamp coolers
if you were sitting on beach by a lake and wind was blowing over lake towards you
it would send cool breezes to you
this is the principle of swampcooler
somehow water is in them, and a blower must blow over them
and these breezes are sent all thru the house thru the vents

air conditioning is refrigeration which is another principle

it hit me when I saw the calla lily
I knew it would only grow like that for you
then I noticed how many kinds of lilies you have
then when I thought of you as a lily, it made a click :)

Thanks for the info on Swamp Coolers.. That was what Al thought they were.. We had a window one in Calif.. but it actually sat on the ground outside the window..

we have two of them
(one for each side of house, cause we have add on)
but in upscale developments, the people are not allowed to put them on the roof
and have to attach them to side of the house
(for aesthetics I guess?)

I know habs loves orchids..but he doesn't seem like an orchid to me....You remind me of a sunflower...bright and cherry...and so full of sunshine...habs i think is an anemonie....tall and springy...colorful.
